"There was a major smell of at our table.We asked to be move.They couldn't or wouldn't The said " come back in an hour if you want a different table. Are you kidding? How rude is that? My wife and I were shocked. How do we ever think about returning. What would you tell your friends and family about your experience at The Patio. It's like they didn't care.
Clearly business must be pretty darn good if your walking folks out the door after they mention something this horrible. Good luck."

"I love restaurants that somehow manage some intimacy and the feeling that the crowd there is cool. The Patio pulls it off in spades. But more than the ambience, the quality and presentation of the food will surprise and delight. You'll want to eat everything you see the efficient, interesting staff drop on the tables nearby. Bring your well-behaved pups and get a break on certain menu items! But don't let that fool, you. This is a well-appointed, upscale restaurant, albeit with a pleasantly moderate price tag. Reservations recommended from what I could see on a busy Thursday evening."

"This was my second visit to The Patio. Our first visit was outstanding. This one was disappointing mostly due to the snarky waiter.
I noticed too , he had an attitude with the other tables in our area as well, so it wasn't just us. I'll give The Patio another try sometime...but the poor service definitely colored our visit."

"I made this reservation through OpenTable for 9:00 at the Patio on Saturday night because according to the website that was the first available time that evening. Then the restaurant called me at 8:55 and was rudely asking if I still wanted my reservation. They had us down for 8:30 and thought that we were very late. I had the email copy of my reservation to show the hostess 9:00 but we felt scolded and uncomfortable as the second hostess lectured us about reservations. And then the waiter reminded us how busy the restaurant gets on weekends. I don't think I will be using your service in the future. Seems unreliable. I will just call the restaurants directly."

"Been in the restaurant biz 16 years, this group has nailed it from start to finish everything was delivered at an incredibly high level. We sampled 5 appetizers for our meal and they are all excellent, lamb sliders, veggie flat bread, grilled cesar, ahi crab stack, and the fava bean and white asparagus. "I didn't want a touristy place for brunch on our trip to San Diego, so thi fit the bill. Not so great for kids though. But my kids Loved all the dogs there. Good wine list but not much from California. Good but short beer list. Brunch food was solid. Portions were a little small on the corned beef hash. Excellent biscuits! "The restaurant made the bad decision to have work done during lunchtime--so, loud power tools and smelly rubber burning were the "ambience" we experienced. Add to that mediocre pop music played way too loud and food that was so-so, and you've got a frustrating experience: lovely patio, cool interior spaces, nice bar, but a place that doesn't know how to make their place a hit."

"Enjoyed a fun lunch, celebrating a friend's birthday. The $15 lunch special was great with salad, sandwich and dessert. The birthday person also received a birthday truffle and candle adding to the festivities. Special requests for preparation modifications were made beautifully! Great dining experience!"

"This was the 2nd time we'd come to The Patio for brunch on Sat - love the outdoor patio and the fact that we can bring our dog with us (surprisingly few of those places here in SD!). The food is always great, although my only complaint is that there is no kids menu and so it's a struggle to find something that my 2 year old will be able to identify and eat, but we got him the breakfast flatbread, made a few adjustments to the toppings and he ended up enjoying his brekkie as much as we did. Ordered the Ahi Nicoise (sp?) - totally yummy. Last time I ordered the egg white skillet (no potatoes extra veggies) - was delicious!"

"We came earlier than our reservation which was for 8:30 (only 5:15--earlier than we wanted and 8:30--later than we wanted were still avail.) We wanted to be there before end of the happy hour prices. They graciously found us a table for dinner (the bar and patio were packed), and we made our first drink orders during HH. Love their small plates, medium plates, and larger plates listings. We were able to make up our own combinations and enjoyed every bite. Their "cool" drinks items are--interesting?! Cocktails, a new version of '30s-'50s type cocktails, didn't hit it for us. Only one martini listed with only 3 vodka selections. But, the one martini was good. Our suggestion to them would be add vodkas w/grape base to go w/their wine emphasis."

"Love this place and have gone several times including recently for dinner. The patio (there are 3 dining areas) is excellent for dogs and my dog loves it there. They are very welcoming, bringing water and a house-made dog treat. Biggest downside is they are suffering from their popularity. The service is slowwwww. Waited for a 2nd glass of wine for a long, long time and when I finally flagged down the waiter he said he was waiting for it to come up at the bar. He was great but was hopping and took a while to take our order, check back with us and even stop and tell us the wine hadn't come up. Same thing happened last week at lunch - not as busy but not the greatest service. Otherwise - food is very good, great atmosphere and fun pla"
