"We went to Brick for Mother's Day dinner - made reservations about a week in advance with no problems. Service was great, the food was AMAZING - Pork with white beans and spinach, meatballs, veggie pizza and the meat pizza... We all can't wait to go back!"

"Pizzas were fine, although one was viturally blackened on the bottom which gave it an unappealing taste overall. Meatballs definitely have a spiciness to them and were huge. Spaghetti was watery - almost like the noodles didn't get drained well enough which made the sauce unable to stick and a bit lacking in flavor. We'll give it another shot."

"Chef David and his crew make fabulous farm fresh food fit for foodies. We love taking people for there first experience eating here. We are never disappointed with our decision to do so. On the new Spring menu are some dates stuffed with the house made sausage then wrapped in Prosciutto. Wonderful. We almost always get the Market Salad for everyone to enjoy at the table. It is so fresh and flavorful and dressed so nicely, not over dressed iek at most restaurants. The Tagliatelle Carbonara with Pork Belly Confit, Pancetta, Garlic, Thyme, Black Pepper, Grana is also great to share. Of course, once here you should try the pizza and ours that day was the Carne. Guess we were into meat that day and boy, was it great."

"So terrible!!! My wine was ok and my salad was ok. We had a the pork pasta dish and it tasted like bad pasta-roni. I was gagging. And we also had the zucchini appetizer and it was also not good. Service was bad. I live in San Clemente and was really looking forward to a new nice restaurant opening, but I don't think this place will be around long."

"I thought the food was great and the Caesar salad was fantastic. The Brick oven pizza was wonderful to share and we each had a salad. Our friends ordered the beet salad and they thought it was a hit. I would eat there again. It was a bit noisy but it was not a problem for us. It is a hot spot and nice choice in San Clemente."

"Super place for hand made brick oven pizza's with unusual ingredients. One pizza is large enough for two people to share if your having an appetizer. Pasta dishes are all made with fresh pasta and are uniquely garnished. Great bar, reasonable prices."

"Too many children for a Friday night out. It was noisy and the food seemed less good than usual. The portions seemed smaller than normal and not as described in the menu. Most of these things can be chalked up to a poor night but the number of kids there makes me wonder if I want to continue dining there. We prefer to have nights out without the kids. I still believe kids should only be in restaurants very rarely."

"Each weekend now for 3 weekends we have taken friends to Brick. We have been treated to fabulous service and great food. Our guests have all remarked how fresh the food was and how creative Chef David is on his combination of flavors. We usually start with an appetizer we all share. While the no longer available squash with burrata (Chef uses fresh, local and sustainable foods so sadly, no more squash) was our favorite, the still available stuffed zucchini blossoms are a hit. Next is one of his fabulous market salads or the beet salad. Fresh and yummy! We have followed this each time with several pizzas to share and the consensus is that the fig and proscuitto is unique and the favorite. Next review will be on the specials and pastas."

"While I liked the atmosphere and service was good, I thought it was a bit pricy for mostly a pizza place. I would go elsewhere for upscale italian or to a pizza place before coming back here. Which means they are not meeting the market they intended. The crust was also soggy on one of the pizzas. Either expand the menu or don't out price toppings on pizza. We ordered a side of anchovies and they brought us a cup with two anchovies in it and charged us $2.00. When we asked for more they said they would have to charge us again. I thought that was a bit ridiculous for a new restaurant in town trying to make a name for itself."

"Overall good experience. We had 5 people, everyone's dish was good to very good. Executive Chef came out to visit and explain techniques he used to create tenderness and flavors - nice touch. Gem was the staff - personable and efficient."

"Great food, definitely fit for a foodie who is willing to have some fun with your typical pizza/pasta options. The ambiance is fun and trendy, I love their take on recycled and reclaimed pieces. (i.e: the wine bottle water glasses, the water pitcher, and the reclaimed wood tables) However, the one downside is the service. It is not horrible but as a customer you do not truly feel that you matter. You are not bluntly ignored but you have to really make your presence known to get any attention. The servers while they are not rude, they are short and not open or friendly. Overall, I will continue to visit for the food and fun atmosphere but will continued to be disappointed by the service."

"Great place to dine, Chef David provides a super good meal with great service for a wonderful evening out. We took our grandkids and they have a ball making their own pizza's and the wait staff makes the experience for them a lot of fun. I also eat here for lunch with business associates and friends, simply an excellent place to eat."

"We had to eat quite early and had just a little time befor we had to be at an event. We let them know we were short on time and they could not have been more helpful. We chose to share the delicious meatballs and some pasta marinara. It was served timely and graciously. We are most appreciative of that consideration. Had it been later in the dinner hour, I doubt we could have been so lucky. The establishment is very popular, so reservations are strongly suggested."

"Went here on valentines day. Were seated in their back patio which if given the option would've much preferred sitting inside. Although the heaters were on it was a cold night for San Clemente. Our server wasn't anything special, nice enough. The food was mediocre although we both had upset stomachs afterward. Couldve been the mushrooms or the sauce for the ravioli's or could've been a coincidence. Either way the food was ok, nothing to go back for. The chef did come out at the end of our meal which was nice. Nothing against this place. Would come here again for a pizza & some drinks."

"We have eaten here twice lately. The fig, Gorgonzola and prosciutto pizza was so flavorful. The acorn squash appetizer with buratta and balsamic with hazelnuts layered such great individuals favors into such a wonderful combined taste. The roasted chicken was simply divine. We love Chef/owner David's food concepts and execution. Kevin did a fine job serving as did Brock, too. Not knowing we were from Redlands, Kevin suggested a new brew from Hangar 24 (Redlands) called Vinaceous which was fantastic. When Brock was our server, he suggested the market salad which was so fresh and filled with such delights as thinly shaved persimmons, turnips and watermelon radishes. The salad was not overdressed so as to let the flavors shine through."

"Food and service were both amazing! The perfect crust on the pizza and locally sourced ingredients make this my new favorite pizza joint. It is a bit bizarre that the wine by the glass selection is VERY LIMITED. Hopefully this new restaurant will address this quickly and effectively."

"There were 3 of us so we decided to order 3 things and share them all. We had heard they make their own sausage and ricotta so we wanted to try different items. The beet salad was outstanding It had smoked salmon and ricotta - could have eaten the whole thing but we were sharing! We ordered the English Pizza. The waiter warned us that it was not a conventional pizza - that it had fig preserve instead of tomato sauce and no cheese. We decided to go for it anyway. It was not a hit - we all found it too sweet and too salty (the prosciutto) but we'd been warned and we didn't hold it against them. Just not our thing. The third thing we had was the pork ravioli - delicious! The service was excellent and I will be back - soon."

"I really liked 'Brick's" but we did have a problem with the table. It was like a large picnic table and the benches had no backs. After a while, some of us were getting edgy because our backs hurt and had no support. I suggest that 'Brick's gets some chairs to put around the table."

"This was our second time there and once again everything was delicious, especially the acorn squash antipasto. The rustic pizzas are amazing, as well as the homemade meatballs. We were a little disappointed that they didn't have any zeppoles that night and were surprised to be charged $2 for extra bread. Our waitress was very good, but when she asked if we would like "a little extra bread" for our antipasto she should of let us know it would cost extra. I know it was only $2, but it was still a surprise when the bill came. Overall, we had a great dinner there with our family and would definitely go back (and hopefully they will have enough dough for zeppoles)."
