"Was able to sit out on the small front patio during a beautiful mid-May spring evening, so some of the positive review is undoubtedly influenced by the weather. Nonetheless, was able to have back to back business meetings with two different clients and the staff was remarkably understanding and supportive. The food was very good - the salmon dip and crackers appetizer and the seared tuna entree were esp. notable. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being intrusive - we were able to have some pretty serious business discussions with only the necessary interuptions, but yet she was always keeping an eye on our table to see if we needed anything. A very enjoyable experience overall."

"Very good lunch but still very disappointed that J Alexander's closed their restaurant on Clybourne St in Chicago. It was our favorite restaurant (we dined there at least once a week). Was told by manager of the J Alexander's Northbrook restaurant that the company has no intention of reopening in Chicago. Very disappointing!!"
