"My husband and I made reservations on open table and noted it was a birthday celebration, but when we arrived they gave us a small table in a crowded area..we did ask for another table that was more secluded and then the service, food and atmosphere was nice. We had the whole branzino fish platter which was great."

"This is the second time I have eaten here and when I am in Chicago this is always going to be one of my "go-to" spots! The food is delicious and I am in love with the Kale salad and the pasta is truely fresh!"

"I had "a flock of bosses" in town for a lunch, and they all loved the food, and the server was great. They commented on beet salad and one of the meat entrees, the ravioli was high quality and good portion (not too huge like some of the chains), and the house salad was suprisingly simple and good. They came back in a decent time so it seems the kitchen is on point for speed as well.
THANK YOU!!!"

"The food was again wonderful on our 3rd visit to the second edition of Piccolo Sogne. However, the service was spotty. Our waiter had excellent knowledge of the menu and was helpful, but, there was a lengthy wait between courses and our water glasses sat unfilled for quite sometime. There seemed to be confusion among the staff."

"This was my first time to "due" and although the food was delicious, it was my boyfriend's birthday and when they called to confirm the reservation, I asked simply for a nice table location to celebrate his birthday. We were seated at a table for 2 that has about 8" between each table. You can hear every word of the conversation to your right and left. And one person next to us was a "loud talker". The restaurant is beautiful, and the food is delicious, but we could not enjoy our conversation and wanted to leave as soon as possible. More space between "table for 2 diners" would be nicer!"

"After three or four visits, Piccolo Sogno Due is becoming a favorite place for dinner before theater. We are always welcomed as if part of the family and made to feel as if we are getting special attention. Service is excellent - prompt without ever rushing. The food is usually very good. In this last visit, the food was good, but not excellent. The zucchini blossom appetizer had too heavy a breading, and I was disappointed that the artichokes in my Monk fish dish were canned ... it is May, and artichoke season after all. But we have had very good meals overall and will definitely be back."

"Lunch at Piccolo Sogno Due is a respite on a busy workday. The staff is gracious and attentive. The food was outstanding. A fantastic dining experience in the middle of the work week. The grilled seafood with arugula was perfectly cooked. Service was efficient and attentive without being overbearing. I can't wait to go back."

"This is becoming my favorite restaurant. I eat there at least once a week and have the kale salad and pasta. All their pastas are terrific (the appetizer size is pretty substantial). Their daily specials are always worth trying. Among the deserts, the panna cotta is the best."

"The pesciolini were soggy, not crispy and not especially fresh. This plate was sent back and replaced by mussels in a red sauce. This was OK, but Ive had better in other Chicago restaurants. The prawns were fine, as was the pizza. When we asked for some gelato and sorbet, they did not want to mix them on the plate , so sorbet and gelato were served separately and were charged extra for one extra scoop. Tacky. Will not return."

"The food at Piccolo Sogno Due is consistently good from the antipasta bar to the monk fish. My favorites are the salmone (grilled Loch Duart Salmon) and the gnocchi (spring nettle and potato dumpling). I love the energetic atmosophere at the restaurant and the great wait staff. Definitely one of the better Italian restaurants in a city (Chicago) known for great Italian restaurants."

"I was there when it first opened and thought it had no relationship to its sister restaurant Piccolo Sogno on Halsted and Grand. Needless to say they have really improved the menu, the ambience and the service. Loved the spicey mussels..I wanted a quart of the sauce to go."

"Went this week for dinner. Reservation was for 7 pm on a Saturday night for 6 people. 30 minutes before 7 pm our group realized we would be 45 minutes late and have an extra person. Restaurant accommodated without any attitude, which for a Saturday night and being packed, was not expected. Group ordered assortment of appetizers, pastas, pizza and carne and really there wasn't a bad dish for the table. Highly recommend."

"Piccolo Sogno is my favorite Italian restaurant. It is one of the few restaurants that serve my favorite Italian pasta dish of all time - spaghetti nero - black spaghetti. Plus having been to Italy, it is the closest to experiencing what I had there. I can also practice my Italian with the staff :)"

"it is noisy - so people should be aware - i think larger groups will have a hard time hearing the table conversation-
having said that - the experience is unparalleled when it comes to the staff and service - from the minute you walk in the door to the time you leave - the backbone and uniqueness hinge on them- 10+ for staff/service."

"We have been to Piccolo Sogno Due three or four times and have never been disappointed. We absolutely love the food. It is creative without being too precious, authentic Italian, the pasta is homemade (ravioli is crave-worthy,) wine selection is complete and high quality, service is attentive. Really, the restaurant has it all."

"We decided to try Piccolo Sogno Due as an after theater venue as a result of our many fine dinners at its other location. The service was outstanding from being greeted at the door thru the meal. Our wait person was Jen. We frequently like to try different appetizers and side dishes rather than ordering a traditional course dinner and we found the menue very condusive to this preference. The calamari salad, kale salad and black fettucini with shell fish were all excellent and we finished up with an assortment of blueberry and chocolate gelato and blood orange sorbet which were a wonderful combination."

"Service was solid, ambiance was a bit loud but the food was a little disappointing given all the raves I heard about the original restaurant. Might have just me but my guest felt the same way. I think they try and I'd likely go again but fell short this time."

"Had a very nice dinner with my mom and sister (she live locally) we shared a pizza, 2appetizers and one pasta. All were delicious and we had plenty to share. Also wine by glass was very reasonable and I enjoyed my selection. The noise level is very loud, but sadly this seems to be the norm for every restaurant these days. Don't expect to be able to hear your dining companion when the restaurant is busy... Would love to go back though for the food !"

"The service was excellent, although maybe too excellent in terms of the number of table checks servers made. I know there's a fine line, but I was dining with my sister, who was visiting from out of town on business, and we would get in to our conversation and really what seemed like every few minutes we were asked if everything was okay. I appreciate the attention, but it was disruptive. The food was good, not excellent, except our dessert. We shared the chocolate, pistachio, cherry thing. Delicious, because of the cherries. The prices were very reasonable. I love the room, decor, and location. I would go back for the ambiance, service, and prices, but not necessarily the food."

"Weeknight dinner for two that began with a 'special' roasted vegetable appetizer that was larger than expected. It was an entire platter of wonderful food.
An octopus appetizer was perfectly prepared and presented. Roasted veal and sea-food mix entrees were equally spectacular. Desert was beautifully presented.
Reservation honored timely.
Total bill, with two glasses of Prosecco, was $130; most reasonable for the area.
One reservation: Floor staff is well trained. The cooperation is evident in their work. However, they are all Latin, and while they speak perfectly fluent English, they prefer Spanish when communicating among themselves. It is audible to diners.
Make this a regular stop while downtown."

"I'm going to give Piccolo Sogno Due the benefit of a doubt and assume that we caught them on an off night. My wife and I arrived for our 8:30 reservation to discover a packed restaurant with frustrated patrons standing shoulder to shoulder at the bar. Our wait ended up being 45 minutes. Once seated, we felt rushed as employees were attempting to play catch up. They were polite, but inattentive. We ordered drinks upon sitting down and never had an opportunity to order another as our waiter seemed to disappear until it was time for our bill. Food was good, but not particularly memorable. A pesto gnocchi dish was absolutely drenched in a butter-based sauce. All together, it was a frustrating and forgettable dining experience."

"Fabulous food!! Great service!!! Menu was filled with so many choices that would make me happy. To start, the balsamic on the table was so good I bought a bottle. Beet and goat cheese appetizer was to die for! Boar Ragu over Papardelli was the best I ever had. My friend had the veal...could not stip saying it was the best meal he ever had! Split the Canoli for desert - by FAR, BEST ever!!"
