"Having read the mixed reviews about this restaurant, I decided to try myself, and was not disappointed. The service was friendly and good, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We'll definitively be back!"

"My boyfriend and I went for dinner - was a rainy day so wasn't that crowded, but the view of the river is awesome and the decor is industrial and cool. We loved it for our date, but would absolutely be back for daytime brunch on the weekend, especially with the water view. The waiter was extremely attentive. Overall great service and food. Also, great bar! I will absolutely go again with my boyfriend or with some friends."

"Bakehouse is something of a find, right now, because I could get a reservation for 10 a.m. brunch in the Meatpacking District on very little notice. And brunch was very tasty--ricotta pancakes, eggs Florentine, good strong coffee. The Go Green freshly made combination of green apple, cucumber, kale and ginger juice was a stand out."

"Not crowded at lunch but a lovely bar, and small but tasty menu. Reasonable prices, Best burger in ages and tasty salad. Place has a funky happy feel right by the river. Only issue is that given no crowd took a while to get lunch on the table. Lovely no attitude service."

"Had a 1pm reservation for lunch, made two days before. When we got there a tv crew had taken over the restaurant for s shoot. By 1:16 when no one had even acknowledged us we left. If you want to rent out your business for shoots that's fine, but either close and charge a fee to cover loss of business or staff the restaurant. It's customer service 101.
Walked over to Pastis where we were seated promptly without a reservation and enjoyed a fantastic meal with great service."

"Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. The food was excellent. The restaurant is hidden down a quiet, residential street in the Meatpacking district. Very cool vibe."

"What a great neighborhood find. This restaurant looks over the skyline of the Hudson. We didn't make it for sunset, but we will next time for the amazing view. I had the lobster roll and the brussel spouts. It was very tasty/. I would also like to try their brunch, especially since the bakery items looked great."

"First time diner and appreciated rustic appeal. Greeting was somewhat distant until confirmed our reservation. View was great, seating adequate, table small but acceptable and inviting. Server was pleasant but did not win points for charm, trying to sell menu, drinks or specials. We Ordered both specialty omelets hoping to tackle my truffle oil avoidance...no such luck. The wild mushroom omelette with truffle oil was just that, eggs with truffle oil, little flavor infused from mushrooms. The omelette with goat cheese and herbs was bland with very little herb. I will say the omelets were light, fluffy and plating was lovely. Perhaps best of the plate were the greens and side of potato home fries. Great view, but not so much for romance"

"The Bakehouse was overpriced and loud, the food was decent but we didn't have anything memorable. Drinks were better. Likely not going to be a return customer for dinner, although we might consider revisiting the bar."

"Really enjoyed my dinner here. Went with my girlfriend and had a nice view of the river and jersey. Food was really good and so was service .. Not to overpriced like u might think meat packing district would be. Appetizer and dinner for two with two drinks including tip walked out only spending 100. Great atmosphere too really liked the feel of the place."

"Took my wife there for Valentine's Day. Perfect setting for a neither too quiet, nor too frantic meal. The lights were a little low and there was live jazz. The prix fixe seemed reasonable given the occasion. I appreciated that the staff was very willing to deal with some food allergies by swapping some items from the bar. The food for the most part was very good and all was presented nicely. There were some apologies from the waitstaff for the time it took to reach the main course, but honestly we needed the time. The steak at the end was perfect and it was a big, tasty meal. We hope to go back and sample some other dishes in the near future."

"Nice neighborhood spot with a great view of the hudson river. food was good but nothing exceptional. We did have a daily soup special that defied description - not in a good way. It seemed a little expensive for what it was or what it was trying to be. We would return for brunch and give it another try."
