"We were given the gift of high tea at Christmas and were finally able to use it. What a lovely afternoon. The selection was tasty and beautifully presented. The scones were airy and delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. We chose the Fairmont tea and were not disappointed. Thank you for the experience, we would come again in the future."

"Afternoon tea was a lovely.The presentation of the food was immaculate and tea was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Versailles Lavender Earl Grey. However, some of the sandwiches tasted slightly bland, but the scones were delicious. Definitely a must-do experience!"

"A great tea in Vancouver. I would say it is one of the more expensive teas but you get the quiet and elegant atmosphere which is much desired for an afternoon tea. I would go back again as this was a favorite from my vacation."

"Scones are exquisite, especially with the homemade blueberry jam and Devonshire cream. The sandwiches were hit or miss. The smoked salmon pinwheel was nothing special, but the tomato and pancetta sandwich was delicious.
Biggest disappointment was the desserts. The chocolate eclair had a cardboard taste from being refrigerated for too long, and the macaroon didn't have a light and airy shell at all; it was just overwhelmingly sweet.
They do require each person to order a complete tea set, which is a pity, because I would prefer ordering half a dozen scones to accompany my tea. The Fairmont has exceptional service, and beautiful surroundings, but I would look to somewhere else for high quality dining."

"I took my mom to the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's afternoon tea as a Mother's Day gift and as always, it was a great experience. The service is always prompt, polite and efficient. Furthermore, the food is delicious, I must admit though, I have preferred previous visits' menus! I missed the ham and Brie croissant! The 2 scones were delectable and the preserves were mixed berry rather than strawberry, which was a lovely change! Overall, it was a lovely time together!"

"Although the setting is not quite up to par with The Empress in Victoria, the selection of tea goodies was excellent. One of our party is lactose intolerant, which had been mentioned when booking online. He got his own three tiered offering with vegan desserts and we all had seconds of sandwiches. The only thing missing was background music to add to the ambience."

"This is a perfectly fair afternoon tea, however, having enjoyed English afternoon teas in London, UK, I found it a bit casual, the food was perfectly fine but didn't have anything special. One good thing, though: the waiter refilling your tea pot with hot water, so you have more than just one cup."

"I made a reservation online for high tea, probably a month ahead of time. Online, I was given 3 different times. So I chose the 12 noon one. I also received an e-mail the day before reminding me of the day and time. Then later on in the day I got a phone call from the Fairmont saying that there was no noon tea and that I could choose either the 2 pm or 4 pm tea. Okay , so I choose the 2 pm tea.
There was 2 adults and a 6 year old girl in our party. We choose our tea, but I tell the waiter that the little girl does not like the bubble gum tea, so if she could have apple juice instead. Then our sandwiches and scones come and I ask the waiter, will my granddaughter be getting her special lunch dish. He thought that she did not want a lunch."

"The food was good, the service was good but I was VERY disappointed that the server did not advise us that there was an AUTOMATIC gratuity added to the bill. It seems a bit like they were hoping to get more by not saying anything. Very disappointed. This has happened twice there. The first time it was not caught by myself or my friend the second time it was. Neither times did the staff advise us. We even warned the neighbour table, who thanked us because they were under the same impression that we were to tip."

"The service was good, although not attentive enough. We had to ask for our tea to be refilled a couple of times, but they were polite. The food was average, the dessert was overly sweet. It was very busy that day, but they did not rush us at all. I don't think I would come back any time soon however."

"Afternoon tea at Hotel Vancouver is always a lovely treat. The dainty sandwiches, the scone with clotted cream and preserves and the petit fours is always something to look forward to. I went with one of the girls from work who have never been to afternoon tea and we had a great time just eating and chatting."

"We were seated promptly and the service was pleasant, attentive and courteous. The scones were amazing, but the little sandwiches were tiny and not all that 'special'. The hotel Vancouver tea room is attractive in a classic old upscale hotel sort of way, however there are no windows so there is no natural light coming in. Even the server asked us what the weather was like that day. This may be something to consider on a rare sunny afternoon in Vancouver. Although the tea was actually a gift for myself and a friend, I was still charged a $16 gratuity. As someone who regularly drinks tea and eats sandwiches at home, the total cost seemed somewhat overinflated in relation to the "experience". Would recommend this as a onetime special occasi"

"We were seated at a good time. Our server was nice but not as attentive as I would have hoped. She was adequate but because I'm in the Fairmont, I expect to be wowed every time. I had been last year and the previous server I had was much nicer.
I had the Bengal Tiger tea. My friends had the Ice Wine (really good), the Angel mist falls and the Kyoto Cherry. They were all really nice teas. Ice Wine was my favourite.
The food was great! They had an heirloom tomato, proscuitto sandwich that was delicious and the egg salad sandwich was so good my fellow diners who don't like eggs liked it.
The scones were fresh; soft on the inside but crisp on the outside. In the end, we cleaned it up! We ate everything."

"Visited Fairmont Vancouver with the DealFind Afternoon Tea promotion that was soon to end. It's probably beacuse this deal was ending soon, the entire tearoom was filled and some even had to be moved to the other side where the bar is located. I've been before, but noticed that through seasons, the items do change. I would definitely recommend the afternoon tea for a special occasion."

"The tea we had on this day was not very good. All the four pots of tea we had were not hot. Even after the server added hot water, the tea was not hot. I had the white tea (monkey paw) and it tasted very weak. I'm not sure if that's how this particular tea tasted or if that's because of the water."
