"I went with three friends to a Sunday Brunch. Everything was great! Friendly, attentive staff. The mimosas were fresh and had berries in the bottom of the glass which was very refreshing. All four of our entrees were great!"

"Taps weren't working, most of the beer list was missing and the waiter was pretty much nonexistent during most of our meal. Food (Fish n Chips and Shepherds Pie), while quick to come out, was quite bland. Cherry infused bourbon is great though."

"I was very excited to try this place! The food options and drink list had my friend and I looking forward to our quick dinner together! However, the service was not up to par. It took at least 25 minutes for me to order and get my first drink. And overall a quick dinner that I had planned an hour for-very easily became more than that. The ambiance and decor was great and I wish I had a better experience, because I could have totally seen myself planning dinner and drinks here often if I had a better service experience."

"This may have been because they were short on staff the night we went in, but the service wasn't very great, and it was also really inconsistent -- for example: we waited a long time at the front until we got seated or even acknowledged (it wasn't even busy), and then the timing was way off with our service, like when we got our water, received our cocktails, our appetizers, then entrees. With all that aside, our waiter was very very nice, but definitely had a lot on his plate; I would suggest having more waitstaff on at once so they can be more attentive. Also, the food was good. Some great and unique options that were very flavorful. Considering how great the menu looked, I set my bar kind of high for the quality, but it was still yummy!"

"Tried open table for the first time last Saturday night and settled on Blokes and Birds. The four of us arrived and were seated promptly. Water with a hint cucumber which was a pretty nice start to our meal. We split a Brussel sprout w bacon appetizer and it we devoured it. For main course to of us had the sparerib sandwich which was excellent. A very nice combination of flavors from the aoili (sp), onion strings, and Havarti cheese. Hank enjoyed his chicken dish (by enjoyed I thought Hank was going to actually lick the plate clean). The pork fat potato side was unusually tasty for a potato My wife liked her chicken curry with a glass of a Chilean Malbec. The combination worked very well together. Service was outstanding. (A+)"

"They must have been short handed or something because the server was taking a long time to help our table and check back on us. Otherwise, food was good and atmosphere was nice."

"The atmosphere was great, but our drinks took 10 minutes and came out two at a time for a party of six. Our food came out sporadically as well. A few of us ordered burgers and were served our fries 10 minutes after the burgers came out."

"The Sunday brunch was delicious! Everything was hot, flavorful and perfectly filling. Our server, while very nice, was unfortunately a bit lacking. Everything took two or three trips and we had to ask multiple times for creamer, sugar and then a spoon for coffee - no drink refills other than water. Otherwise, super cute spot."

"Great service that went above and beyond. There food was some of the best I have had in Chicago, expertly prepared and very good portion size. Went for Valentines day and even though it was not requested or mentioned received complimentary Champagne and a rose which made the evening perfect."

"Went here for brunch and was blown away by the bloody mary! Not only was there bacon infused vodka involved, but the beer back choice by our server was a perfect compliment of flavors. Everyone in our group got something different off the menu so we could share plates and each dish was well rounded in flavor. I would definitely recommend this for a brunch with friends."

"I went for brunch at Blokes and Birds for the first time this weekend. I'm a big fan of their dinner and drink fare. Brunch was quieter and slower paced, which was really nice after a night out on North Halsted previously. The food was excellent and the cocktails were still nice. There was even live music that started a little after noon to kick up the cozy, warm brunchy feelings of love."

"That food was very good . A nice variety of dishes to choose from. The wait staff is very attentive and made some great reccomendations as far as menu choices.. Beet salad is great . Shepards pie, tasty. I will say that it is very noisy but that's to be expected based on the location and age group . If you can't handle the constant hum of lots of people trying to have conversation over the music then this may not be your kind of place. All in all We will go back ( we can handle the noise) and take our friends with us . Good energy, good food and service and reasonably priced. A DEFINITE GO!!"

"I went on a Saturday night to take a friend to dinner for a special occasion. There were parties of two, four, and a couple of large parties of 8+ all dispersed across the dining room -young, old, male, and female. The sound level was pretty high that night as there was a live performer booming out over the hefty chatter going on across the Sat night rush-hour room. They were out of the sauce I requested for the mussels and instead of asking me beforehand what other prep I'd prefer they just brought out another choice on their own whim which I thought was odd. Still, I'll go back and recommend to others. Perfect place for festive, fun, diverse dining crowd and everything we had was very very tasty."
