"The waiter was horrible. He kept making mistakes, almost had two orders for our one daughter. He kept having us repeat what we said. We would ask for clarification about the food and would make us feel dumb. The cook did not seem like he wanted to be there. Other than that food was okay... The atmospher was awesome. The company was great... Maybe if we had a better waiter and a cook that seemed like he wanted to be there it would have been a better experience."

"We have been there before celebrating many birthdays. On this occasion the chief used his spatula to press the meat. This only dries out the food and makes it tough to chew. Getting rid of moisture doesn't decrease cooking time or increase flavor. I would expect this at a burger joint not a place that you can easily drop 2 bills."

"Wasn't impressed with service. Was left unattended for a half hour, no one came to check up on us and our check wasn't given until we asked for it at the door. Quite frankly, it was rude. Thankfully the food and the cook's humor made up for everything."

"The chef, Israel, was great! Although he entertained us with the usual Benihana routine, I was more focused on the taste of the food. He did an excellent job of cooking as everything was well seasoned and cooked to order. When I come back, I'll be sure to ask for him."

"We don't live in Anchorage, but we went to the art museum there, and stopped by Benihana on our way home. We had a very nice cook, and our waitress was outstanding! She seemed well trained and very attentive. The food was delicious, and we are looking forward to returning for our birthday celebrations, again this year. Thank you for providing a nice family restaurant in Anchorage."

"Our cook had an issue with portions. Our table was full. My daughter and I went for lunch and we ordered from the dinner menu. One other person ordered from the dinner and the rest ordered from the lunch menu. Our cook gave us the smallest portions! Saying something seemed greedy but we both noticed. Our chef also wasn't very engaging. He spoke to the left side of the table but completely ignored the people on the right side! Lucky (or unlucky) for us, we were on the left. Overall, the food was tasty but we didn't get what we paid we paid for. It was eh..."

"Our chef, Mr. Wang, was wonderful and highly skilled. He did some "tricks" that I have never seen before. The best part was when he flipped a shrimp tail into my 11-year-old birthday girl's full glass of lemonade! That was hilarious! The food was expertly prepared with attention to detail. I've been going to Benihana's for years, and have never had such an enjoyable experience as this particular night. Everyone from our waiter, Drew, to the birthday singers, to the manager were delightful."

"We experienced a 20 minute wait after our reservation to be seated. Then took 70 minutes before the cooking chef came to our table to start cooking. The manager came up to us unsolicited to acknowledge the unreasonable wait times and discounted our bill by about 15% food was good, but they are just simply overpriced for the market. We enjoy the entertainment of the tempenyaki but not a good value."

"It's Benihana. If you haven't been there, you should try it at least once. If you've been, you either love it or it's not for you. One thing to keep in mind though, it's not especially cheap. Going with my wife, getting a drink and no appetizer, the bill usually runs $75-85 before the tip."
