"We love to come here and eat. The food is always delicious and we always have a great time. We came here this time to celebrate the May birthdays in our group and we were asked about taking a complimentary photo of all 6 of us and then were given 4 pictures which was very nice."

"My waitress didn’t give my daughter an option of what mug to drink from and when asked to replace the mug she said she would bring it back out with water “AFTER” my daughter had drank her first beverage. We didn’t get the mug until the end of service after asking numerous times for it. Another guest’s food to my bill and charged my credit card for it after giving me the bill for my food only. The Chef forgot to give me my entree. My best friend and I didn’t get mushrooms. The waitress told me and my daughters that the birthday song was only done during dinner service and it had to be requested for it to be done for my daughters."

"The only problem encountered was they were running thirty to forty five minutes behind in seating even though you had a reservation. Not sure how this happens or why they even suggest reservations if they cannot seat you on time."

"Benihana is one of my favorite restaurants for special occasions but I had never been to the one in Farmington Hills until this past Saturday. Overall it was pretty disappointing. The restaurant was super crowded and loud and there is no place to wait for your table so everyone is jammed into the entrance area. The service was super slow (slower than a normal Benihana experience), the Steak was fatty, chicken overcooked and veggies were overcooked and soggy. No terrible, but not the quality I had expected. I'd recommend trying the Troy location or hitting one of the other hibachi places in the area before I'd go back to this location. Bummer."

"Monday night 7PM -- non-holiday. The restaurant was packed! 1 hour wait. Luckily my reservation resulted in only a 5-10 minute wait.
It took quite a long time -- about than 45 minutes -- for the chef to arrive at our table.
Also -- wine price was very high -- 9.95 for a single glass!
After 2 hours in the restaurant, I was happy to pay and get some fresh air!"

"A bit disappointing in that our seating area was way too hot. I get that there's a hot grill in front of me but, it was uncomfortably hot. They were out of onions for the ONION SOUP, out of teriyaki sauce (HUH???), out of the beer I wanted and out of the srawberry ice creammy daughter wanted as her birthday treat. Our chef, Dustin, lacked personality and could have shown our daughter a little more recognition on her bday. Overall, our dining experience was a letdown."

"Well, the cook was joking around about Japenese eggs rolls and proceeded to fry the egg for the chicken fried rice and the hot oil spit onto my husban's face. Almost hit him in the eye. He kept asking if he was ok, but it was not funny. Then he spilt the sauces all over my son because he was trying to fill the cups quickly. Actually had a couple at our table yell at us for not tipping the Chef even though we tipped w/our bill.Not a great experience for my son's 24th birthday."

"This was a fun place to go for our daughter's birthday. Lunch entree prices are quite reasonable. We had the Hibachi Chicken and the Yakisoba Noodles. Both were really good. The host staff was friendly and efficient. Our teppanyaki chef was personable and funny, making it a fun experience. Our server was very pleasant, although her pacing was pretty slow. Maybe she had another table in the other dining room? I don't recommend the kids smoothie. My son said it was watery and too sweet. He barely drank it and the price on the check was a dollar more than the stated menu price of $4.75."

"The location and inside was great! Much better than the Dearborn location. This was our second visit in less than a month. However, chef was great - but service was pretty bad. i still tipped very well - on top of the charge already on the bill - hoping a lot of the tip went to the chef. We rec'd our appetizers after our meal was complete. They did take it off the bill. But we wanted it during the long...wait for the preparation of dinner. The hot appetizer was cold too. Took forever to get service to come back and get the final bill."

"We were initially seated in a particular area. However, when we revealed that we wanted to have the Lunch Express, we were moved to another area. When we arrived to the new area, the service was terrible. Our waitress never asked us if we wanted a refill on our drinks. The cook gave us insufficient portions. The service was just terrible. It will be a while before I go to the Farmington Hills location again."

"Dinner reservation on a Monday night for 7:30pm. We were not seated until almost 9pm. They need to handle turnover on tables better, since they ran behind the entire night. People were packed like a madhouse in the lobby, tables in the bar area, and along all the benches. As other reservations walked in they were still telling them running behind by 20 minutes, which was not true. As for the service, waitress was frazzled and could not keep up with drink orders for the table. Sushi did not arrive until our dinner was being cooked on the grill. Chef was not entertaining, probably worn out from the night already. This was a disappointing meal for my birthday, as well as the other party at our table."

"The chef and server were both outstanding. Mistakes were made, but the staff more than made up for them with their friendly demeanor. I left well pleased.
We have had one bad experience with a server here, once, and were a little apprehensive about coming back. By the looks of things, this unprofessional person is no longer working here.
Our server this time was friendly and attentive. Mistakes were made, but I would rather have a server who has a good attitude, notices her own mistakes and works to correct them. Too many customers are quick to dwell on the mistakes and don't acknowledge any attempts to correct them. Our server went about correcting her mistakes in a way any reasonable person shoud find outstanding."

"It's amazing how much their cooking style changes for the midwest! Our chef put nearly a whole tub of butter on top of the fried rice. "We were seated with an incredibly rude family, due to this, we were ignored most of the time. It took over 2 hours to have our food cooked. When it was cooked, the chef dumped a large portion of shrimp onto my plate (I can not eat seafood)...ruining my meal."

"This dining experience was by far the worst. I was there to celebrate my birthday with my wife and it starts with drinks I order a mango lemonade which is my favorite, after consuming one the waitress says we're out of lemonade but will go to get more then returns and says we won't have lemonade for the remainder of the evening. We order the fried rice which is an extra charge while the other couples (4) at the table order white rice, the cook prepares the fried rice gives me and my wife the bowl full then tells the other guest would they like to try it and proceeds to give the other guest "free" fried rice in the same amounts that I paid for! Then on my entree I asked for extra onion they charged $2 but I didn't receive xtra onion! Poor!"

"Overall, Benihana's was very good. We had to wait about a half hour after we were seated ... all of the chefs were busy. The food is very good. The chef was fun, and did a variety of tricks with the eggs and shrimp tails ... very entertaining. Our 'group' likes to go there for celebrations because of the fun atmosphere. We had a great time. We were all surprised how busy it was for a Wednesday night ... glad we had reservations."

"The girl that got our drinks was very rude, my friend order the seeweed salad she kept forgetting about it. I order a drink it came back with no booze in it,when I told her she didn't want to do anything about it except charge me for another shot of booze. Another person sitting with us at the table said to her what's wrong with you go make her another drink, he also had it with her rudeness. The chef guy was boring. I will not be going back again, and neither will the couple who was sitting next to us, who had alot worse to say about dinner"

"The whole experience was GREAT!! We had 6:30pm reservations and we were 15 minutes early... they sat us immediately. The male person who took our order was excellent, very friendly, and professional to the T. Jorge, was our Chef, and he was fantastic. Very creative and engaging with all of us at the table."
