"Our order was incorrect and the chef argued with us instead of making it right. We ordered a total of 2 fried rice (out of 4 of us) and wrote it down as all of us wanting it. The 2 people in my party who ordered steamed rice had not been there enough times to know it was wrong. The fat was not cut from out filet migon and they were not cooked properly. I ordered 'Medium" and many of my pieces were either fatty or medium rare and rare. We asked that since we were the only ones at our table to have the low sodium soy sauce used for our meal and he still used the regular soy sauce. We asked for sweetener and never recieved any. It was my grandma's 82nd birthday and my mother's 53rd and sadly, they may never come back due to the horrible exper."

"I have reserved a table for my group knowing that this place gets busy. When we arrived (on time), we were asked to wait and the estimated wait time would be 10 minutes. 30 minutes later, we were still waiting. I asked the front desk how much longer will it be and I got the response that it will be 10 more minutes. I then asked, what was the point of a reservation if we still have to wait? They just said that they were going to be 10 more minutes. I didn't want to argue, so I left it as that. Once we were seated, we waited another 30minutes =/ before we were offered a drink. Overall, this wasn't the best experience."

"Booked 2 pm reservation; not seated until 2:35! And no apology for wait, we were given exactly the same treatment as any walk-in customer -- take a seat, here's your beeper.
No special treatment for mothers -- no free or discounted dessert or a flower or anything. After cook had finished preparing our meal, another waiter came up and told him to prepare a meal for someone at the bar. So, the grill was fired up a second time and we had to endure more cooking and smoke while we ate. Very poor
We will not be back as there are many other much better choices."

"Food was ok but watch out of the mandatory tip. We went for my wife's birthday and had a coupon for her dinner. In the fine print, they mention that an 18% gratuity will be added, but who reads the fine print. Honestly that was what I would have tipped, but i HATE mandatory tipping, especially since we were a party of 2. The manager did take it off, after I complained, but the way it is placed on your check makes it look as if you still need to tip MORE. This appears to me to be a way to scam an extra 18% before tipping, which makes in a tax, not a tip. Shame on you Benihana. I don't blame this restaurant, as it is a corporate decision, but I will not be back. There are plenty of other places in the area."

"We did not know where this was located and when we called to get directions the person stated it was behind another resteraunt, which it was not, it was a block behind. it was hard to understand the person providing the directions. She had a hard asian acent and some words we could not make out what she was refering to.
The resturant is far back at the end of a roadway about BLOCK OFF from the address of the street.
If one is not familiar with the area one may need extra time to locate and then park.
we where a bit late so we used valet parking.
We sat with 3 other couples that we had nothing in common. Conversation was little. We where the only couple married at the table.
If you are looking for a quiet place this is not the one!"

"Really good food, though admittedly not enough rice for my tastes, and awesome service makes this a great place to go for birthdays and special occasions. I got the Chateaubriand Steak and Scallops and, OMG, the steak almost literally melted in my mouth, it was so tender. While it can be a little pricy, averaging about 30-35 dollars a plate, the $30 birthday certificate really helps to offset the cost. In addition, the Sushi is phenomenal and extremely reasonably priced; great for chilling after work. Also, if you like things done a certain way, don't be afraid to ask the chef to do extra stuff; just make sure that, if there are other people at the grill, you ask them if it is ok because everything is fixed communally."

"I had mentioned when making online reservation that my guest was celebrating his birthday, was assured the complimentary dessert would be taken care of, and it was. "The food was good but not great. I thought our chef lacked energy which is unfortunate since this is a restaurant where the chef should be very enthusiastic for the diners. I wouldn't pay that much again for the same meal. I also wished they had told me that the rice served early in the meal would be the only rice served and the main dish would just be meat if that's what you ordered. I would have saved my rice for the main meal if I had known that as I was left eating just meat when it came time to eat the main part of my meal. My husband loved the food."

"I expected far better. My girlfriend and I went to Benihana's for dinner and a show, but we were served disappointing and poorly seasoned food by a chef with little to no flare. I guess, our troubles actually started when we arrived for our 8 pm reservation and had to wait 30 minutes. I understand it was a Saturday night and the establishment was busy, but there were tables open and the hostess didn't apologize nor seat us at the empty bar. Then, the chef rolls out with his cart and the show was to begin... So I thought! The chef wipes off the grill, splashes a little oil on the surface, mumbles to himself, and starts tossing the orders onto the grill. Several orders were wrong, including mine, and the food was poorly prepared."

"Very disappointing...we'd been to Benihana in Addison years ago and were expecting the same fun-filled comfortable dining experience. We remembered sitting in our "pit" with shoes off, lights low and unique chefs. What we found in Plano was an industrial setting with chrome and glass, concrete floors, kids running everywhere and each chef following the same "routine". We won't go back."

"I went to Benihana Plano for my wife's birthday celebration with 5 others. The food was great and the wait staff were very quick (drinks were never empty ). However, the entertainment (chef) left room for improvement. I have visited the location in Irving, TX and found that by comparison, the chefs in Irving were much more engaged with the diners. It could have been that he was just having an off night but admittedly the reason to come to a place like Benihana's is for the entertainment more than the food."

"I dine at Benihana's at least twice a month. Normally my dining experience is superb. However, the waitress was not very attentive. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but we had to ask her for routine things such as water and silverware. It also took her a while to bring back our refills. After we were finished eating we had to wait on our check for almost 15 minutes."

"Not bad, but not the best hibachi I've ever had. Food was a tad bland. It really needed more seasoning. I ordered sushi to start, but somehow communication between the person taking the order and the waitress was cut. I didn't receive it until well into the meal. My wife said the long island tea wasn't bad, but the plum wine was way too sweet."

"You should know what to expect when you go to a Benihana and I received the service expected for the most part. My main concern with the restaurant was the deplorable manner in which they handle reservations. We had a reservation for 7:15 and were given a shock box and asked to wait. Now, my basic presumption is that an acceptable wait when you have gone through the process of getting a reservation is no longer than 10 minutes. My wait was over 30 minutes and would have been longer but for the fact that I raised my concerns with the manager. Benihana needs to work on their scheduling to avert this type of delay before I will return."
