"Had not been to this Benihana in a few years. The food was still the same, good, but the show has dropped off. Not sure if it was just the room we were in or if all are the chefs do the same. But the 2 that were in the room we were in neither did the usual knife show or flaming fireballs or even talked very much. I enjoyed the food but my teenage kids were a bit disappointed in the missing theatrics they had seen in the past."

"I took my preschool for lunch and they were kind, accomodating and every entertaining. He was so focused on the entertainment he didn't bother the many business lunchs at our table. Lunch menu choices are very reasonable and well rounded for all ages and tastes."

"The entire point of this style of restaurant is the show that comes with the meal. the chef...while competent at cooking...did the most half assed performance imaginable. Instead the advertised flipping of implements, he lazily just kind of tapped the table top a couple of times and uttered a barely audible "arigato" once or twice. Since I brought a date who had never been before, and given the prices...this made the effort and decision to eat at this Benihana's pretty much an expensive waste of my time. Especially when you add the forced seating next to complete strangers...underwhelming."

"Thanks to everyone at Benihana for making my son's birthday so special. From letting our son and his friends try some of the cooking stunts, to the great food and service, we were more than pleased! Our Chef was very kid friendly (11 yr olds) and did all the tricks like the volcano to train, thumping heart and tossing shrimp tails. I would definitely recommend to everyone!!!"

"A fun place for a family or group of 6-8. The food was delicious (although too much of it!), and the service was very good. Our chef was a great entertainer! The filet mignon with mushrooms was excellent, the vegetables and fried rice were tasty, and the plum wine was a delightful treat. One in our party was celebrating a birthday, and he received an ice cream sundae with a candle and Happy Birthday sung in Japanese. Especially nice was looking out on a beautiful. lush green landscape instead of acres of concrete as in most Dallas restaurants! We felt as if we were on vacation in another place!!"

"I had gotten a coupon for sushi and was excited to try it. I've always gone to Benihana for hibachi so this was definitely a different experience. The bar/sushi area in the Dallas location is just a little lacking. The sushi was good and fresh, no complaints there although not an extensive selection. Still, with the coupon I had it was a great deal for the price. It just wasn't the ambiance that you get from the hibachi side. My date and I had a good time, but both agreed that next time we go back it will be for our traditional Benihana experience."

"For the best hibachi in town, Benihana is the way to go. The Dallas location is by far one of my favorites. You get the usual soup and salad with every entree but what makes the food so good is the garlic butter that goes in everything. I wish I could buy some. All the servers and chefs are nice and very attentive. Not only do I come back for the food, but I come back for the great service. I usually request to be sat in Mang's section because he always makes sure everything is perfect. Whether you're a seafood or meat lover, at least try hibachi once here at Benihana."

"I was not at all impressed with this restaurant. The service was horrible, starting with the hostess. Our chef was not really into his job, we found ourselves watching the chef at the table next to us. We have been to other hibachi restaurants in Dallas and this was horrible in comparison. The food portions are too small for the cost and really didnt have that much flavor. You are paying for the name and name alone when coming here. I would recommend Kobe or Geisha a 100 times over this place."

"I hadn't been to Benihana in probably over 20 years, but found it to be just as much fun upon my return (this time with a grown son in tow). The performing chefs are very talented and make for a truly memorable dining experience, and the food is delicious. "I really enjoyed my experience at Benihana's. It was my birthday celebration and I went with some good friends. Our server was friendly and attentive and our chef was fun without being too over-the-top. There was a young girl at our table and she was very vocal and interested in his cooking skills -- he was very sweet to her and answered all her questions."

"I chose north Dallas Benihana's for my date's birthday night out based on Benihana's past reputation and past personal experiences there. It was a Tuesday night, so I was not too surprised that it was not crowded at all. The service was excellent and food as good as I remembered. Only two things about the ambiance I wish had been different. My date had been to the orient a hand full of times and she made the comment about how Benihana's landscaping was not a beautiful as the Oriental gardens over in the real orient. I immediately noted to myself that I remembered when it did look outstanding here too. The front lobby used to house a larger sitting area with tons of pictures of famous stars that had eaten at Benihanas...now gone."

"I loved my night at benihana's although I wish they would not rush you out the door. Just because two poeple in my party of 3 were finished they took away their plates and asked if they needed anything else. I was still eating and I was paying the check. Very disrespectful. "It was our first time going to a place Like this, it was a great experience. The atmosphere was great, service was nothing short of awesome. "For the money we expect a better show thas for sure. The food was ok nothing to brag about. I will not take my family of 4 back and spend 130.00 on a meal wen the kids enjoy the knock off so much more and get a beter entertainment. English was pretty bad on the cook you can tell he mainly speeks spanish and could not hear him too well like he was affraid to talk out loud."

"We had a good time for a birthday celebration. Met nice people at the table. The restaurant was very good with one of the guests very strict dietary requirements. Cocktail was good but weak. Wish they would give a bit more vegetables with the entrees (just a slice of zucchini, a little onion, and a little mushroom... my friend and I basically only got a half portion of each)Wish they had more exterior lighting, as you couldn't see anything outside the beautiful picture windows at the table. George, our chef, was nice and funny... even though you know that all the jokes are scripted we all laughed. Steak was very good, chicken OK. Love the ginger dipping sauce, but wish I had told them to hold off on the salad dressing."

"It was my sister's and one of our friend's birthday celebration. We had a reservation for 13. From the waitreses to the chef to the food, everything was fantastic! Chef Mango was very creative, funny and made the occasion very enjoyable. My sister and I have already decussed this will probably be the place to bring our Mom for her May birthday. With such a large party we had to have two tables side to side and wish we could have all been seated at one table. Other than that everything was great! The only thing I would recommend is if your party is big make sure everyone arrives on time for your reservation or (as the staff had pre-warned) your party will need to wait in being seated."

"We arrived at 6:25 for 6:30 reservations. I was told that there was a 20 min. wait, UGH! Our chef came to our table with an unprepared cart, missing bowls for rice & sauces. He then couldn't read the order sheet and I watched as he panicked & tried to split 5 chicken breasts into smaller portions to feed 7 people. He then realized only 5 had ordered chicken and redid his piles before serving. I was disappointed that he decided to try to hide the mistake instead of doing the right thing. The food was mediocre, dry chicken, uncooked mushrooms. Bleck. Next there was our waitress. She was great until she forgot about us for 30 minutes!!!!
I'll try the Plano location next time."
