"The food was ok but our chef didn't put much of a show on. He seemed disinterested. We sat at the end of the table, ordered the most expensive meals at our table, and were shortchanged on our fried rice and the vegetables. Others received much larger portions. The table wasn't even filled and the chef couldn't get it right. On top of it all, they now add an automtatic tip on the check and they didn't even mention it!"

"My family and I were very disappointed in this Benihana. We have been to the Benihana in Manhattan several times and met new people and had so much fun. Not so in Westbury. Our server was very rude, it was my daughter's birthday she did not receive a hat (nor did her friend who accompanied us). My daughter told him it was her birthday and his response was "okay", not nice at all. The chef was not very good, he did not engage the other guests at our table and did not cater to the children at the table. He pretty much just went through the "script", he even put away the utensils and food and forgot to make dinner for one of the guests. I love Benihana, however, I don't think I will ever visit the Westbury location ever again."

"All was well except: the reservation was made with opentable but once there the reservation wasn't into their system; I had to insist and show them my confirmation email.
No wait time for the table though, only a few min. I would have loved more server attention as it was my birthday and was there with my family. David the chef was good. Very Long wait at the end when ready to pay the check, was left by myself waiting and waiting while my family was waiting outside. Last, it was really hot and we were sweating but we did not mention it to any of their staff."

"I love Benihana's because I always have a big group (10 people) for Mother's Day with my family and my in-laws and this is the only place I know that can handle large parties. "We go to Benihana-Westbury alot, I was very disappointed in the service from the manger that night. We were a party of 4, my husband ,16 year old son, 11 year old son and myself the table they went to sit us at was alittle over crowded and I said something to the manger and he said all tables would be the same so we sat at our table with very little space to move. We have a place less then 2 minutes from my house that we go to sometimes, and I must say I regret not going there that night. I have no problem sitting other people, but I would like alittle elbow room and we had none.. I will think twice about going back due to lack of concern from mangement. I did not want a privite table just not one where I was sitting on top of everyone.."

"My friend and I went back after our last disappointing visit. As had always been the case prior to that disappointing visit, the food was great. The lunch boat was as it should be, scallions in the teriyaki beef and the right amount of teriyaki sauce on the beef. The only complaint is that the sauce for the tempura still tastes very watered down. They recently brought back the tempura sauce, but they should bring back the tempura sauce they used originally, in the past, prior to this one."

"The cook must have been having a bad day. We dine at Benihana regularly and typically order the same lunch, the beef lunch boat, which comes with soups, salad, teriyaki beef, shrimp and vegetable tempura, half a California roll, edamame, and raw fish which they steam for us. This time, it just was not as good as usual. There was very little teriyaki on the beef and no veggies in the mix. Benihana finally brought back tempura sauce (which they had discontinued a while back), but it tasted like they took the empty bottle of sauce and rinsed it out with water and served it. Even the edamame seem old and wilted. As always, the miso soup, salad, and the California roll were good, and the steamed fish so-so as usual."

"Benihana seats too many people at one table. Not only is it crowded but the chef can't possibly cook the meals in a way that we all eat at the same time. One person is finished with most of their meal before someone else in that party has even started on the main course. Our food was good as was the service, but for the money there are so many better hibachi restaurants in the area."

"What a tremendous difference from the Benihana in Manhasset. This was such an enjoyable experience with an extremely professional and utmost friendly wait staff and even the chef had a very very nice personality. We will definitely make this Benihana as a must go back to again and again. My two grandchildren (9 and 8 years old)were so entertained and loved their food as well."
