"Everything went great til the end. My daughter has a medical condition; she needs help in the rest room. We went to the ladies room and were there about 10 minutes, leaving the third member of our party at the table. We returned, I paid, and we left. Then, one the way home he told us that the staff were telling each other, loudly, in the hearing of all the guests, to watch him because we were trying to "skip out" on the bill without paying. He was really embarrassed. This was very unprofessional. I sent a message to corporate, who has not responded at all. We won't be returning."

"This Benihana's has gone down. The cook was not pleasant and became upset because he made a mistake while cooking. He gathered his things, and walked away from the table, and had only cooked the vegetables. We had to wait for another chef, all of our food had to be recooked. I arrived at Benihana's at 2:30pm and did not leave until after 6. What makes matters worst is I went the other day to meet someone for happy hour and he was still working there. His name is Joseph. I am very disappointed in Benihana."

"My daughter and I Birthday is in May. She found Benihanah coupons online and printed them. I had never been to Benihana, the food was the freshest , well- seasoned and best food I've eaten in my years!! I loved watching Chef Sean prepare the meal and kept my family entertained as he grilled the product. I t was a great eating experience for us and we will definitely go back and invite friends and family!"

"I have been to a lot of hibachi style restaurants because I love the food. Our chef, whose name I cannot remember was an awesome chef. He answered a lot of our general questions and was not only very entertaining and fun, but also very polite. If I could, I would request for him to be our chef everytime we visit. Also, the online table reservation service is very convenient."

"This review is based solely on the lunch menu.
I had the lunch boat and it was okay for about $11. It came with sashimi, a california roll, edamame, miso soup, a tempura variety and rice. The sashimi wasn't as fresh as I thought it was going to be. It tasted of last night's closing time. I opted to change the california roll for a spicy tuna roll and that was the highlight of the enter dish. The edamame was edamame with some salt. The miso soup was also a no brainer and was delicious. The tempura variety came with shrimp and some veggies which was pretty standard as well.
The waitress offered to take our pictures and printed out a copy for us - FREE - which was pretty sweet!

"Generally a solid meal. You know what you're getting when you go in, well except for this time. Arrived for a 5:30 reservation, weren't seated until 6:00. Wouldn't have been so bad except the chef had no business behind the hibachi. Not only was he slow to the point where the food was far below room temperature by the time he was finished, but he was not personable whatsoever and played favorites with portion sizing. The service was subpar. My wife practically had to beg to get her water refilled; then 60 seconds after the meal was finally cooked the server arrived with the check and wanted payment immediately. I understand that it may have been due to the incredibly slow chef, but rushing guests as they are eating is rude. Going Downhill."

"I have been to a Hibachi experience before. This for me was quite average...I felt like the service was mundane...they have done it so many times before! My biggest complaint is that is was extremely overpriced! Small portions...tasty but not worth the cost. Groups come in and go out and the performance is the same. So loud that I could not hear what they were saying either when they took the order and when they were cooking at the table."

"The food is always great but this is the worst Benihana that I've ever dined at. "We were let down. Our chef had very little personality. My wife ordered brown rice that wasn't brought out until ten minutes after our chef was done serving. I ordered spicy hibachi chicken and they forgot to bring out the spicy sauce on the cart. When I asked for it, it was delivered in a little plastic container straight from the fridge. Ice cold! The entire place was full of people on their phones and wearing hats...the staff did nothing about it. Then of course came the bill...$100 for 2 adults and 2 kids menu items? We won't be going back. The ambience is gone. I remember when that place used to be good. So sad."

"I really enjoyed my visit to Benihanna's. The Chef was delightful. The food was impeccable. The wait time was minimal and the establishment was packed. It was the total package. I really love the Birthday picture and ice cream, not to mention the gift certificate. I highly recommend eating here and plan to return soon."

"Sat near the door. Very drafty and cold. Never really got any better. We had people waiting for tables within 3 feet of us and it was very loud. Service was dodgy at best. Received and paid the bill before receiving ice cream which was included on the menu as part of the meals. Bill before the meal is done? Received the appetizer during the meal and it was cold. Took over 90 minutes most of which was between the meal and ice cream for the wait. Don't know what happened with the service level, but for the high prices Benihana Beachwood charges, you would expect a bit better service. Food and chef were great though, but too many misses for the high prices they charge. You could do better at many other places in and around Cleveland"

"I was a bit disappointed with our wait considering the reservation but the type of dining experience they provide doesn't allow for immediate seating. I'd recommend getting there early when dining on the weekend and be sure your entire party is present. Once seated, plan to interact with your party and other guests at your shared cooking staton for a bit. The key is not to expect a fast dinner/lunch but to enjoy the food and conversation. Regarding the food preparation, it's not an over the top show you'll receive but the meal is fantastic."

"It was a most pleasant experience. We did not have to wait long for our seats, drinks, soup, or salad. We did have a bit of a wait for our chef to come to the table though I dont blame the restuarant but the people we were sat with they had to many special requests for their food. I was very pleased and liked it very well the steak was just right and chicken was perfect."

"Each time I visit this place it seems the portion are less and less but hte prices are higher. No value for the money especially with the veggies. Its ridiculous if you wnat an order of mushrooms its $4 or extra zuchinni which is one slice for $2 or for two its $4. Shame on you Benihana !!! You are well establised and making good $ give back to your customers especially for the prices we pay and for being a patron to your business. I wont be going back for awhile !!!"
