"I've been living in Atlanta for 13 years this is the first time I visited Benihana. atmosphere was fine wait staff was fine. outside of me finding trash in my soup and feeling rushed by our waitress I got over all experience was management didn't even come my meal but they gave me a free appetizer the next time I come in. overall experience was just okay....."

"The service at Benihana has become 4th class. It took the waitress 45 minutes to bring drinks which were all nonalcoholic to the table and it took her another 20 minutes before she took the tables order after she finally brought the drinks. My nephew had to bus the table when we finally got our salad and soup. The manager came over after being asked 4 different times and said sounds like you guys need a new server and we received a new server after our rice was finished cooking. Poor poor service. I'm tired of complaining but it happening too much now."

"I made a 3:00 reservation on Mother's Day. We arrived at the front desk and was told our table would be ready in 10 minutes. We sat in the restaurant and waited for almost an hour and still had not be seated. Being 4 months pregnant with 2 hungry children in tow my family and I finally decided to leave after waiting so long. I found it highly annoying and extremely unprofessional to have made a reservation and still having to wait so long. Benihana ruined my Mother's Day! They turned a day that was highly anticipated and was supposed to be a fun experience for myself and my children into a day of disapointment and horror. I have never had that experience with any restaurant I have ever made a reservation with on opentable. Would not return!"

"Benihana's specialty is the serving technique. Chef was entertaining, courteous and engaging. The food was bland. The group seating dampened the celebration spirit for most diners. This takes away from any privacy. Orders are taken as a group therefore you are not in control of the rhythm of your dining experience. Since they serve and retrieve soups and salads as a group.
Best way to enjoy this place is as a group. It's not a fine dining experience."

"It was definitely busy at benihanas I made reservations am it still took 25 mins to get seated at a table. Every time the chef asked the server for something she never came back with it. When we asked her for something she always had something else to do first before

"We made reservations for 6 pm on Mothers Day, didn't get seated until about 45 min later. the menu was a bit higher than i expected for the little food we received. the rice was a bit crunchy and we didnt get dipping sauce until after the cook was done, by that time half of my food was already gone, i thought we were supposed to receive dipping sauce up front. it was ok overall, id rather go to Kobe Steakhouse instead"

"Having reservations doesnt matter. We waited to be seated. Unable to accommodate my party & didn't seem to matter. We had reservations for 10 plus two high chairs, they setup for 8! Server was not very good. They had a special menu for Mothers Day with jacked-up prices & little variety. We requested the "regular" menu but was told unavailable. We found on our menu that alternate menus were available upon request. We inquired again & received another menu. The chef could not understand what everyones orders consisted of & had problems understanding we needed a kids menu. Those who ordered From Mothers Day menu were supposed to get sherbert and ice cream, but only one received it after asking the server. It was a bad experience."

"I decided to have my friends join me here to celebrate my 30th birthday! I dined here 2 times prior and had great experiences. Our chef Eric was awesome, however, our waitress' service was mediocre. She asked if anyone was celebrating a special occasion. I informed her it was my birthday and got a dry "happy birthday". She never offered any refills, she never offered dessert, and she did not inform the staff there was a birthday. There were several people celebrating birthdays and staff sung the birthday song at almost every table with ours being the exception. I planned on having dessert, but didn't want to spend another penny. I WOULD NOT recommend Benihana (Buckhead) for special occasions. They're called "special" occasions for a reason!"

"I enjoyed the drink and menu offerings. The service that we received from Wilton was stellar. I was disappointed in the preparation of my steak. I ordered it rare and my guest ordered hers medium. Hers was cooked to the correct temp but he continued to cook mine that I had ordered rare to well done. I was on a date so I did not want to embarrass her by bringing it up. I spent a lot of money on dinner and drinks and this simple thing made me disappointed in the experience."

"It was my husband's birthday and we made reservations ahead of time for 6 people. It was prom night and we were alittle late but were seated within ten minutes,so no complaints there. The staff is not the friendliest around,the hostess who sat us at our table didn't even greet us or crack a smile. I had read other reviews about this restaurant before hand and was hesitant, but we took the chance since we had never been to a Benihana. Overall the food was good, the presentation was predictable and some of the non-friendly staff was consistant with other reviews. The valet parking was totally unecessary in my opinion. They did sing happy birthday and gave my husband a complimentary desert. He was very satisfied and enjoyed the meal."

"I had reservation for 6:30, we sat down at 7:45, The food got cold because of the air blowing directly over me, which I should have worn a winter coat. I like to eat my meal all at once, not veg then rice then meat by the time you get your meat everything is cold......The best thing out of all is we enjoyed the chef and the people at our table. "The atmosphere is so inviting! I met a friend there who I had seen in over seven years. Plus I had not been at Benihana in about four years. I see it all the time, but never go in. I was grateful for the experience and will be back. The freshness of the food, to participate in its preparation through observation was a joy and to have it served with precision and warmth was most memorable.
To be honest, I wish Benihana could be a regular place for me to dine, but I do not feel it is conducive for a person who dines alone like I do most of the time. Nevertheless, I do know where to meet friends to reconnect!"

"My reservation was at 6:30pm I got there at 6:15pm but the would not seat me because my whole party was not there yet. When all the people in my party was there it was 6:45pm. They told me that I had to wait now because my reservation was canceled there is a 15 min grace period. I advise them it is only 6:45 I'm still with in my time. The girl said the system canceled the reservation. I had to wait an additional 25 min to be seated. I was not very happy to wait because I was there before my reservation, but they decided not to seat me."

"The waitress was very rude and unpleasant. She seemed irritated with my party, and didn't give me the service I'm used to receiving at this Benihana's, and for that reason I would NOT recommend this restaurant location to anyone. Additionally, the staff were unaccomidating to my party of guests, and we had to squeeze ourselves (14ppl) into a half table that usually only comfortablly seats 8. Finally, portions of my meal were not brought out until after we paid the bill and were about to walk out. Overall, this was a horrible experience compared to what I'm used to from this location.
We also found it odd that at this Japanese restaurant, there are no actual Japanese cooks."

"I was unimpressed by the food at this location; it was flavorless. For $37, I got one long slice of squash, a small garden salad, soup that tasted like chicken broth and a about 3 ounces of chicken, steak, and.what amounted to five jumbo.shrimp. our server forgot to bring our steamed rice and I had to ask for the ice cream included with my meal; when they did bring the ice cream, they brought one.bowl.for.me to.share with my friend who had ordered a separate meal.with ice cream included! The chefs were leas than spectacular in their presentation and kept doing the same old.tired tricks which became annoying because we waited for close to 2 hours for a table and were seated around 9 pm. This is undoubtedly the worst birthday dinner ever."

"We went for my daughter's 20th birthday. A group of 10 with reservations. Upon arriving out seats were not ready. Once seated we had no service for at least 20 minutes before getting our drink orders were taken. I had to go to the hostess and question was anyone going to serve us? They explained to me that they were just discussing my party, that we did not have a server and because we didn't have a server- he was going to take our party because no one else volunteered. We noticed a lot of the staff just standing around and the restaurant was not busy. Also, the restaurant ran out of silverware. They brought some people in my party plastic forks. The Food was really good. However, portions were small the same size as lunch for 3x the price"

"We had one of our first dates at Benihana approx. 15 years ago and LOVED it. We went back and took our kids and friends and were totally humiliated! This was the worst possible restaurant experience we have had. The server acted like she didn't have time for us, wouldn't even come back to refill our drinks; our cook wasn't Japanese, nor spoke English and his skills were a joke! I can't believe they are still in business."

"It was a Thursday night, but they were extremely busy, and presumably understaffed. (However, the guest seated next to me said it's always like that.) We didn't expect the lackluster service and messiness. Our hibachi chef was a pleasure, though. We will return to the downtown location next time."

"I enjoyed myself it was my bday so it was a group of 12 people good thing I made ressie bc just for a table for two their was an hour wait and this was a Thursday night!
