"My family and I had dinner here for mother's day. We had reservations for 5:30 p.m. We didn't get seated until 6pm. and only because we had to speak to a manager who knew us from a prior visit in which we had a bad experience. So, he immediately got us seated so that we weren't further inconvenienced. He checked on us periodically and made us feel very welcomed. Besides the wait to be seated and dealing with the sarcastic host, everything was fine. Our waitress was very nice and the chef was also very knowledgeable and creative in his showmanship."

"We have been coming to your restaurant for quite some time now and this was the worst we have experienced. The server wasn't good at all, he didn't come around to clear the empty dishes, had to wait for beverages - not in site or too busy with other tables. The wrong food was brought out on the tray so that seemed to distract and confuse the chef - first of all their was a family with us with a young child and he said he likes the tornadoes - he said he didn't have his water bottle with him - he would do it next time but he tried with the soy sauce and he couldn't get the onions to pyramid so that was a loss shrimp tails were thrown away no tricks with them, only did the banging of the utensils and swung them around and dropped them too."

"The chef, Hoy, was fantastic. I would ask for him again. He put on an awesome show. Our waiter wasn't very good. He forgot our drinks, and didn't seem to be on top of things. We did not receive our drinks until we had already started eating our soups and salads. The bright lights made it feel quite warm in there, so we were sorely missing our drinks."

"Overall we had a great time and my daughter enjoyed her birthday celebration.Our chef Tito was great-very entertaining, polite made the dinner a lot of fun.We were a little upset with our waitress though.My daughter and I both order a margarita when they came they were entirely two salty to drink -so I asked for a new one with little or no salt and my daughter asked for a different drink altogether. The waitress acted disturbed because she wanted something different and stalked off.At the end of the meal we were expecting green tea - but we were never offered any. Lastly,when the waitress came to collect the checks she counted the cash on my son in laws check right there in front of everyone-like she didn't trust him-then collected the rest"

"Benihana went out of their way to provide a great evening for me and my date. It was a Monday night and they kept asking what we were celebrating. I replied "The fact that we are free to do what we wish on this world." By the end of the evening the entire staff was wishing us a "Happy Monday" and even gave us free dessert and took our picture and gave us each a copy. From the food, to the chef, to the ambiance it made a GREAT "HAPPY MONDAY"!!!!!!!"

"Service was good but the waitress made a major mistake in our billing. We had split the bill into two;one bill was paid by cash and the other on a debit card. The waitress put both checks on the debit card resulting in a double payment for one check.
It took some explaing to the manager to rectify the situation satisfactorily.
In addition, we were not happy when the gratutity was automatically added to the bill which again can cause confusion if your not particularly vigilant.It should be the diners decision as to the and not the restaurant's."

"We were very disappointed in our seating.....right next to the kitchen. Not a very nice atmosphere for our first time there. Too much noise and hustle and bustle. The service was very slow and the waitress waited until everyone left to ask, "Would you like us to sing Happy Birthday to you". First of all..that isn't much of a surprise if she asks, secondly, what is the point if everyone else is already gone. The whole point was to celebrate my birthday. She complained alot about how busy she was. The cook forgot my scallops and had to go to the kitchen and make them.....then brought them out after I was finished with the rest of my food. For that kind of money we were very disappointed."

"We are a large family, the two of us and 4 children. This is a great place to go, and we always come with friends as well. Never a disappointment we always have an excellent experience with great food and friendly chefs and wait staff. The chef takes great care to make sure you are very happy with your meal, and entertains as well. My children were excited watching as the chef did tricks to keep their attention as well. We go back as often as we can. Everyone we introduce to the restaurant, says it is their new favorite place as well and they go often too. Definitely a great choice !!!"

"The good- we had a wonderful chef. Prepared the whole table's foods perfectly and with ease. Our reservation was perfect, we sat down immediately.
The bad- our server was so busy and very non-attentive to us. She was focused on the other family at the table, making sure everything was ok, filling their drinks. Never would make eye contact with us. We would have liked a drink refill before the main course, but had to go drinkless until she offered dessert. Even when management came to clear used dishware- I couldn't get them to hear or acknowledge that we did not have a drink. Also- the high level of MSG in food was intolerable. Also ordered sushi-which never came. The other family's did though."

"The service was slow despite the fact that things weren't busy and we had a reservation. Then they managed to get our order wrong.
We hadn't been there in years and were really looking forward to it; what a disappointment."

"The chef named George was entertaining and had a good sense of humor. He interacted well with my 13 year old son. The food was good except they changed the shrimp to Jumbo Shrimp. I did not like it as much as the regular shrimp that they used to serve. Also he mixed the onions in with the other vegetables which my son nor I eat onions."

"Did not get soup or salad with our meal. Last time we were there , we got soup salad and shrimp appetizers. This time we did not. A little disappointed with that, spent same amount of money as last time and got much more."

"I say this every time I come to Benihana's...over 120 times now..and it is still true.... Benihana's Never Disappoints! Great time as always - but most important excellent food! We've been to over a dozen Japanese hibachi restaurants and Benihana's is still by far the best! I write a food review often after we have gone to another hibachi restaurant - my grading scale is called the Benihana scale... 10 is Benihana standard.."

"Benihana of Pittsburgh is a great place to go for a special occasion. We went for my fiances birthday, they always give you 30$ off a meal purchase for one use in the month of your birthday. Great place, friendly staff, good hibachi chefs. Never had a bad experience here yet!"
