"We've been to this restaurant a few times, and I cannot get enough of the experience. The food is absolutely fantastic. It may be a little pricier than some places, but it is definitely worth it. Great for dinner-for-two or for the whole family."

"Benihana is practically "dinner and a show"! My guests were transfixed watching the chef prepare our meal right at the table. I love to bring people who have never been there to Benihana for the first time...I always get a kick out of their reaction. My 13 year old asked if they allow people to just go watch!"

"Benihana was the original Tepanyaki-style restaurant; however, the newer versions such as Tepanyaki, Osaka, Bonsai, and such do a much better job at entertainment and are equal in food taste, quality, and price. The entertaining chefs at Benihana seemed tired and didn't interact with guests at all. The décor and condition of the facility showed an aging business in a hidden, almost inaccessible location."

"the food is good at benihanas it is traditionally Japanese and the flavoring of even simple dishes like steak and lobster is not what you would normally expect it to be when you eat it at another restaurant so go prepared for different taste sensations. It is a little spendy so you may want to make sure that you know that before you go. We did know that and it was still a little bit more spendy than we thought but we all had a good time. it was for a birthday and we had a large group and it was good for us to all get together. The restaurant staff was courteous and the cooks were wonderful and the restaurant itself was very accommodating for our birthday preparations. Doing the reservation through this service was excellent."

"Those with respiratory conditions should avoid, lots of smoke and spices abound. SLC has stairs to climb so not handicap friendly. Service was great and we enjoyed the presentation. Noise level made it difficult to communicate or understand the chef, since this was my first time I enjoyed looking down the rows to see just what the other chef's were doing. "Hadn't been to Benihana's for years but it is a lot of fun. If you don't know, you sit at a U-Shape table and the chef prepares the food at your table. You sit with strangers unless you have a bigger group (8?). This places some limitations on the menu as the chef must prepare everything basically at once. Still the food was very nice and the scallops were wonderful. The chef is a trained enterainer, juggling the cooking implements and food. Ours was a fair humorist as well. It is fun and something one should do every so often, especially for a birthday, etc. By it's nature not romantic or quiet, but FUN!"

"Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience. When we walked in the hostess was not very interested in helping us with our reservation. She seemed like she had better things to do and wasn't very professional. She then told us to head upstairs to be seated although when we got upstairs they kept asking us why we were sent up. This was our first visit to this particular location and so we were just doing what we were told. After that rude greeting, they seemed bothered to seat us at our table. Once we sat down, it took us over 20 minutes to get our drinks and about 30 until we ordered. The service was extremely slow compared to the surrounding tables that were seated after us. We were there for over two hours."

"Wow, the food was great (the Hibachi Chateuabriand is delicious... wish I had the words to do it justice). They really mad me feel special for my birthday month dinner... taking my picture and bringing the printed photo in a red cardstock Benihana frame with a code to download it online!
This time it was just my husband and I, but we are planning another family birthday celebration in a couple of months. We have to share the joy!
I had not been to Benihana for years... we don't really go downtown much. It was worth the drive and fell into the category of an extra special date instead of the more common kind of dates. I like being alone with my honey just for his company... even to go grocery shopping, but Benihans was THE BEST!)"

"My family and I thought the food was very bland. We had Teriyaki chicken, Teriyaki steak and the Hibachi steak. Too pricey for less than mediocre food. We won't be going back."

"Our waiter, Jose, was very friendly and helpful. Our chef, Luis, was downright adorable. He was entertaining, funny, accommodating, and made a point to pay special attention to my son, who was the only kid at our table.
The experience overall was fantastic, as usual. My only complaint would be prices.... we only eat at Benihana once a year for my birthday, because it's too expensive to eat there regularly."

"We were on time for our reservation, but waited a very long time to be seated. After being seated, I had to ask at least 6 times for my son's drink, although we had received ours immediately. We were then left to wait almost an hour for our chef to arrive, so everyone at the table was very hungry and irritable at that point. We saw other tables get seated after us and their chef was there within 20 minutes. Although I love Benihana, this was a horrible experience for us!"

"The food was amazing!!! The chef however was really boring...If I have to sit at a crowded table with 6 random strangers, I better be dazzled by the chef showing off some cool skills! It was pretty obvious he wasn't trying very hard to make us happy. I thought this place was going to be more fun and was definitely disappointed. I recommend it for anyone looking for good food, but not for anything else."
