"We have gone to Benihana many times and the food is always great, and the chefs provide a fun, predictable show. Everything was great as usual EXCEPT the waitresses, especially one in particular. I understand that they have a certain time schedule to meet so they can move tables, but I think there are much more diplomatic ways to maneuver parties and not be outright rude. This particular waitress practically told me to move out of her way when I was standing where she wanted to go. They kindly allowed us to bring our own cake in, which we appreciated, but this waitress just shoved the knife at me abruptly to indicate it was time to cut it. Truly rude, esp when we brought 15 paying, courteous guests in our party."

"If Sushi rolls are all you know about Japanese food, go to Benihana for something more...
It's great exp. for kids watching show on a hot iron plate.
Soup, salad, chicken fried rice are great.
My husband ordered teriyaki steak, and I ordered dish that comes with rabster and filet minoung(?).
They were very yummy.
Recommend to sign up at benihana's website, cuz they send you $30 gift certificate for your birthday.
It's great exp. for kids watching show on a hot iron plate.

"I recently had to the chance to take my two adult nieces to Benihana Beaverton for Mother's Day and their birthdays. Neither woman had ever been there. The younger neice (33) was so excited and impressed with the show she actually video taped our chef making our lunch. It was sooooooo much fun! I LOVE taking "first timers" to Benihana. The food is fantastic, the show is wonderful, and it is such a wonderful value for the quality of the food and entertainment! When I was a little girl many years ago my Grandmother and Grandfather took me and my siblings there.....it has been a family favorite since they were located in downtown Portland. Beaverton is a bit of a drive for us......but well worth it every single time!"

"My daughter has always wanted to go so we went for her birthday. It was very loud and crowded. We could not understand the wait persons questions. She was short and a bit pushy (I'm sure due to the amount of people she has to serve and the turnover required for the tables). The chef was young and the "show" was really lacking. I ended up watching one of the more experienced chefs at another table. It is extremely expensive for simple food that is grilled. I would not go again nor would I take anyone there."

"This was our first time eating at a Benihana's restaurant. There were 6 of us. (4A/2K) We had reservations at 5:00 PM. We showed up at 4:50pm and did not get seated until 5:35pm. Once seated, our waitress spoke very broken English and was very hard to understand. Then to top it off, her and another waitress got into an argument in front of us over who's area it was, and our waitress walked off as they exchanged verbal blows. Not great customer service. Eventually she came back and was obviously upset to the point it was uncomfortable. She acted annoyed at our questions, and we hurried up and ordered. The cook was fantastic, he made up for the lack of customer service. Food was very good."

"I love taking our senior residents out to lunch. Benihana finally made the list. Best lunch outing EVER! The residents loved the cooking show, enjoyed the food, and laughed more than I have ever heard them laugh as a collective group. We absolutely loved it. "We come a lot! Usually it's great, this time out chef was not good, we ordered a kids steak and chicken, he never gave her any steak! The another person got it. I was upset as we paid $13 for it and only got chicken. Didn't realize this until he left. He was definitely the worst we've had. No energy, very few tricks and just repeated himself the whole time."

"I will admit it was a good experience. The noise in the restaurant was over bearing and way too loud. I had a group of 9 and we were crammed around the tiny hibachi grill. The host's were not very kind with our accommodation and thankfully we made a reservation! The wait at 7:00pm on a Thursday for 4 people was TWO HOURS. And they close at 9:30! We couldn't understand our waitress and she basically was telling us what we were having, not asking. Jose our chef was awesome though! He had fun with the kids that were with us and even flirted with one of my friends. We didn't get the amount of food I thought we were going to get for our money like my other favorite restaurant Fuji's. I don't know if I will ever go back to Benihana but it was ok."

"I was recomended from a friend to take my daughter to Benihanas for her birthday. Thank goodness i did, it was the best recomendation ever. My daughter had a great time, she is still talking about it. Felix was our chef and he was amazing, he interacted with my everyone, but made my daughter very special. "Service and food was great but my spouse was locked out of the restaurant when he went outside for a smoke which caused distress to the evening and a rapid attitude change. It was late at 10 in the evening but with an 815 reservation we didn't get to start dinner until 915 to 930 ! Expect a long wait !!"

"We were there to celebrate three birthdays. Our waiter, Eric, was great. We love tea and my parents who were with us love coffee and he kept them both coming! Something that has not happened before. Our chef, Roger, was excellent. A great combination!"

"there were 6 of us 4 adults and 2 kids 12. This was the kids idea. Both loved the soup.
One had shrimp on the kids menu the other had tuna on the regular menu . Everything was very good and cooked great. Enjoy eating around the cook top and be entertained."

"I made a reservation days in advance, yet we had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Our chef or the kitchen forgot one of the orders, so a meal was further delayed by the chef returning to the kitchen and having to quickly cook the chicken. We were there for over two hours! I expect to be there for an hour and a half, maybe, but it was just too long and dragging.
I like the new decor, but it was awkward squeezing behind other diners to get to and from our table.
Having said this, our food was mostly delicious and the presentation enjoyable. This remains our adult daughter's favorite place, so we will continue to go when she visits."
