Fork & Wrench
The Fork & Wrench bar and dining room in Fell’s Prospect, Baltimore offers glocaly sourced, craft made fare and libations. The owners worked for two years to design and hand build the interior space themselves with the goal of evoking the 20’s, 30,s and 40’s working class. There are hints of a workshop, a linen factory line, a pharmacy, a college science lab, and a savings and loan office scattered thru out the rooms, balconies and courtyards of the space. It is their intent to combine the dive bar and 4-star attitudes into one space for the benefit of the “modern day” working class. The kitchen offers craft made fare using all local produce and meats when available. They use old recipes and new techniques (and vice-versa) with global influences to arm their ever-changing menu. "Food was delicious and service was friendly and well-timed. We enjoyed the asparagus guacamole, quinoa salad and havarti mac as appetizers. All were delicious and our party of 4 cleaned all three plates. For dinner we got the market fish special which was spectacular, the sea scallops, and the hanger steak, both very good as well. The crepe cake and creme brulee topped it all off perfectly. Fork and Wrench is one of my favorite spots in my neighborhood, and in Baltimore."

"Fork & Wrench is a moderately priced establishment with a divy bar feel featuring outstanding farm to table cuisine. The old fashion bar is quite a sight as you walk in the door, and the decor is charmingly eclectic, eccentric and quirky; for example, the men's room is wallpapered with old bank notes and commercial paper from an old Baltimore bank; old Coke bottles adorn the chandelier on the third floor. We were greeted warmly by our waiter who was extremely attentive and informative about the menu choices, explaining that what's served is pretty much dependent on what's locally available. While the Sunday brunch selection was limited (everything was superb) we will be back to try the enticing spring menu, esp the famous duck confit."

"We loved this restaurant. We sat near a table that was a little louder than we expected, so that is why it was given a "energetic" for noise level. The food and service was great. We are planning to go back to the restaurant again very soon."

"The food we had was great, however, we waited 30 minutes after ordering cocktails and then were told that the bar was running behind and do we want to cancel them and just order our entree. When they came the waiter tried again to take our entree order before we even had a chance to enjoy cocktails. No matter how good the food is, poor service ruins a meal and we will not return."

"I've worked in the industry for years and understand when things don't go smoothly. However, simple things like share plates for appetizers and getting our food order into the kitchen in a timely fashion, seem like basics. Although it was mothers Day, the restaurant was not crowded at All! We waited 40minutes for our pancakes, quiche and waffles. We even mentioned that one of our guests had to leave promptly at 2:30 for work when we sat down. Then one of the plates were "dropped". I think the fact that I sat and watched everyone eat, they might have compensated the slow service and badly timed kitchen / food service in some way. I would give it one more chance. But the service and the kitchen need to step it up!"

"This is another Baltimore "foodie" restaurant that does not live up to its reputation. The ingredients are fresh, but the execution is lacking. The service is horrendous. Our waiter had the attitude and superiority complex of a Michelin 3-star rated chef rather than someone who's simply supposed to write down what I want to eat.
It's open late. Maybe that's one of its redeeming qualities. If you're looking for something decent to eat at midnight when nothing else is open this is a good option. Otherwise, better places for the money."

"I had high expectations and I was disappointed. The execution of the food was not on par with the price. Our lamb chops weren't trimmed. The brussel sprouts were not crisp. Maybe that's slightly personal preference? The ambiance was classy and a nice balance between clean and warm. The service was friendly but not attentive enough... and we really don't fall into the high maintenance category. We had to repeatedly flag our server down. We wanted to linger a little and enjoy our dining experience. If there's a time limit to the table I prefer to be told up front. Instead we were "politely" urged to finish our meal. The host was able to rearrange things, but no one mentioned that until we were paying our bill."

"The Grab-n-Go is one of the most amazing brunch experiences I've ever had. Perfectly cooked bacon. The bloody marys are also excellent. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for Sunday brunch, so just stop in!"

"At some places you really know when operating a restaurant is more than a business but a passion. Fork & Wrench is such a place, located unobtrusively in Canton with modest but modern surroundings, friendly and competent service, and a chef with a passion for pushing the boundaries without going over. Mundane ingredients such as kale are transformed into a flavor-packed, crunchy delicacy that belies its humble roots. Add in an eclectic and moderately-priced wine list and you have the makings a a memorable evening out."

"I'd been to Fork & Wrench a few times for the amazing cocktails so was looking forward to actually sitting down and eating too. I wasn't disappointed. We started with a few cocktails (very good as usual) and relaxed at our table while trying to decide what to order. I got the burger (I know a burger doesn't sound out of the ordinary but this one was) and nearly swooned at my first bite. My friend got the rib eye and the bite I snitched off of his plate was so tender and melt-in-mouth delicious. We decided to be decadent and order dessert. My chocolate mousse was large and fluffily light and a great way to end our meal. The service was excellent from the time we walked in the door to the time we left. I'll be going back. Often."

"Overall an excellent experience. I had the fois gras which was absolutely out of this world. And lamb chops with truffle mashed potatoes. Lamb chops would have been perfect but they came out very rare as opposed to medium rare. It is a lovely casual place that can also be dressed up quite easily. Beautiful antiques adorn the walls and there are many levels and hidden corners. The Bartender was quite a good mixologist, and the selection of beers was ecclectic Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable yet friendly and the opposite of pretentious."

"Went with high expectations, they were not met. The place looks like a basement, it's loud and i was seated practically underneath of stairs. The salad was tasty- the best of the evening. the entree of Atlantic char was a too small piece of fish served with thick skin. taste wise it was OK, certainly not outstanding. The scallops, which come topped with "lardon" (stated on the menu but you'd really have to be a keen observer), was promised to us without ham. Halfway through i realized that the smoky flavor was actually chunks of ham. The waiter offered nothing and the manager, once he realized i was not offering a compliment walked away uninterested. Overall, disappointing."

"Brunch was excellent! The two bartenders made great suggestions. Make sure to check out the Ricotta Pancakes and the Peas Over Toast. Both were really delicious. We had a great time and I'd highly recommend it for brunch. We'll definitely be back."

"Really outstanding service. Menu is small, but food is tasty and perfectly prepared. Atmosphere is better than your average Canton or Fell's Point spot. A bit more selection on the menu would be helpful."

"I love this place. Yes, the decor is rustic, eclectic, industrial yet warm with textures to make you feel casual, hip and comfortable at the same time. Our waiter was perfect. Didn't hover, didn't chat too much, explained the food and cocktails w just the right about of passion. We sat in front of the bar so we had a cute round table that felt cozy. Even better, the FOOD. The fois gras was melt in your mouth delicious. I think I'll dream about that fois gras for a long time. Even better were the lamb chops! They were soft and velvety, meaty and rich. Perfect w the homemade mashed potatoes and fresh as can be Brussels sprouts! And the scallops were some if the best I've ever had. A touch of sweet with a lot of sear. You'll be happy!!!"

"This was my first visit to Fork & Wrench, and I had pretty high expectations from the menu online and their reputation for local produce and meat. My seafood dish was to die for - scallops in a sweet sauce. However, the ribeye that was done sous vide came to us cold. It was tasty, but clearly had been sitting before it came to us.
The server was very friendly and knowledgeable; however, on a busy Saturday they weren't very attentive.
I will try this restaurant again, but maybe not on such a busy night."

"I would like to go back for dinner. My friends and I got the carrot cake pancakes, grab and go sandwich, and breakfast quiche. The pancakes were great, but the other things were just normal. Nothing spectacular."

"between our attentive and well informed server and the delicious food, our dinner couldn't have been better! we ate early on a weeknight though so we definitely didnt have the opportunity to see the true ambiance on a weekend night but i can't imagine it would be less than stellar. on the third floor there is a loft area that can accomodate a group up to 15 which i'm looking forward to trying in the future. i truly loved every course we had - their signaure 57 cocktail, the decadent soup, the flavorful rockfish over an amazing kale salad, sous vide lamb chops, garlic fries with a spicy mayo dip and an amazing housemade nutella ice cream!! well done, fork and wrench, well done."

"Had an amazing birthday dinner here with my husband. We tried the leg of lamb and duck poutine and the meat was perfectly cooked, tender and falling off the bone. Paired with some craft brew and the homemade Nutella, Graham Cracker and Parsnip Cake icecream and we were in food heaven! The only criticism I would have was the pear tart we had with the ice cream was kind of bland and we wished the side of the housemade bread portion was more generous, but otherwise a very memorable and pleasurable meal. For the two of us with beer, entrees and desert we paid about $90 plus tip put us over $100. Worthwhile for a special meal."

"Decor is just what they intended and table tops/settings are fine. There were hits and misses with the food. Scallops and lamb were great, steak was not! Plating was nice, but lacking in quality. We were there early on a Monday night, so all was pretty quiet, however, I am sure that this establishment becomes quite lively at other times. We felt that everything was just "adequate" and should have been better given the creative menu items and prices. The staff was most accommodating. Thank you."
