Under the Moon Cafe was the founding vision of mother and son, Estela and Santiago Orosco. Their concept is a simple one: create a warm and welcoming atmosphere and offer quality, home cooked meals to new and old friends.
"I am not a foodie, I usually do not linger over my food. I have been to Under the Moon three times now. The food at Under the Moon is the exception. Every main dish has been exceptional, most of the sides have been equally exceptional. Each meal has been worth savoring and letting the tastes linger to get the full experience. The seasonings added to the dishes enhanced the flavor but did not overwhelm the base flavor."

"We have gone there before to dine and it was great to see a new menu. The restaurant offered unique food choices. We were not disappointed. We selected a few appetizers which included the Brie, my favorite, It was followed by a colorful assortment of the meats and cheeses cutting board. They were very flavorful. Dinner was delicious. I personally love to eat seafood and my choice was the salmon. My husband, the tuna, my parents both had meatloaf and my in-laws both had the vodka rigatoni.
Desserts were fantastic. Try the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. It's outstanding!!!
The owners of the restaurant visited our table to follow up and it was greatly appreciated. They care and have a passion for what they love to do."

"We went there last night for an Anniversary dinner. It was exactly what we were looking for in all aspects - food, people and ambience. It's an eclectic place that really makes you feel comfortable just walking in the door. People were friendly, portions were right on and the food was very good. My wife had the Ahi Tuna which was fantastic and perfectly done and I had the Chicken Napolitano which was huge and very well done. At the end of the meal we had the chance to meet the chef and the owner and you can see why the place operates the way it does - pride and customer concern. We will definitely be back!!"

"Our food was delightful, including all courses. The brie appetizer was just enough for two and a great beginning to a great meal. We split a salad which was enough for two before having crabcakes and a pork chop. The portions were more than adequate and everything was delicious. You can't leave without their wonderful desserts. I had the banana, chocolate chip bread pudding, it was to die for. The portion was so large I brought half home. My husband was so impressed with the meal that he thought it was the best meal we had had in years."

"The stuffed shrimp was great; Everything was good up until some of the entrees. The pork was dry. The halibut was dry as well. The osso buco & lambchops were good."

"The new menu at Under The Moon is fantastic. The tapas are authentic and delicious; as always the service was fabulous. Our entrees were flavorful and my strip steak was perfectly cooked. The interior of the restaurant was just renovated and once again the creativity is amazing, our entire party was impressed. It is amazing how Under The Moon brings city quality and ambiance to Bordentown."

"We really enjoyed our meal! I had the Pork Osso Bucco, which was fantastic! My husband was disappointed that they were out of the Beef Short Ribs. We love the ambiance and the warm bread with chimichurri sauce is a fantastic start to the meal! We will definitely be back again!"

"Very disappointed in this BYO restaurant. We were presented 2 menus ... an ala carte and fixed price. However, to do the fixed price, everyone in your group has to do it ... so not great for large groups. Prices are high especially given the lack of ambiance. There were several complaints about the food in our group. The Zuppa Di Pesce was extremely salty, the Osso Buco was very dry, the Lamb Chops were extremely small and over cooked (we even had to send one back for looking like there was no meat on them at all). After dinner we ordered cappuccinos and were told the machine is broken so had reg. coffee. Twenty minutes later she returned to ask if we wanted dessert. Nothing positive to report about this restaurant."

"There was an appetizer special of lamb served tapas style that was OUTSTANDING. I'm told that it's going to be added to the menu soon, and I would keep coming back just for that alone! They were soooo tender and flavorful, I could have eaten a bucket of them. We always enjoy ourselves at this restaurant and love the funky atmosphere and eclectic design."

"I have been to Under the Moon a few times but this was the first time for my girlfriend. We went for an early Sunday dinner and had 5 courses of pure food excellence! Started with fresh baked garlic bread with a delicious dipping sauce, nice salads, empanadas (a MUST try). I got Mama's pork chops and my gf got the meatloaf both were exquisite. But the meal ended at its highest note with the homemade desserts, chocolate mousse pie and the incredible french toast bread pudding was out of this world (with fresh whipped cream and i asked for dulce de leche sauce on the side)
Very unique ambience where every table is an eclectic mix of coolness.
2 big thumbs up :)"

"First of all enjoyed the "Grandmoms Dining room" feeling inside. Different. Most of all of our entrees came out very good. My daughter loved the vodka Rigatoni with chicken. My husband had the osso Bucco and said it was very good. Another friend had the rack of lamb and although he ordered pink, it came out too well done. Said they were good, but would have been better they way he ordered it. I had the shortribs and the sauce was delicious with the vegetables, however they were not good cuts of meat. Too fatty, not enough meat. Deserts were good. Overall very good, needs a little improvement in some areas, but worth a second try."

"Valentine's Day 8pm. Twinkling lights. Surrounded by adorable shops on historic st. Fixed menu. High hopes. Beginning to end the entire meal was disappointing. Stuffed shrimp & Brie appetizer - inedible. Salads: embarrassing. Vinaigrette dressing, tasty yet drowned the 40 pieces of arugula. Sweetheart salad: lovely on paper. It was as if someone had opened a ready made salad bag & sprinkled a few nuts. Seafood risotto & pork chop w/ scalloped potatoes. Scallops, Arborio rice, & yellow baking potatoes, skin left on -ALL were overcooked. Pork chop: overdone on outside &even more dry on the inside. Dining experience was rushed & overall a waste of $. *Forgot greeting card w/ a ribbon, contacted restaurant still waiting for a call back"
