"131 Main on East is one of our favorite restaurants. However, in recent visits, I've noticed that the servers seem overextended and it results in a lag in timely arrival to greet and take drink orders and in routine stops to check up on their guests. They seem hurried and distracted which creates a disingenuous atmosphere of care - their minds are clearly on the next task instead of on their customer. This is a management issue, not a server issue."

"A definite addition to my special occasion restaurants! I highly recommend the chips and queso appetizer - it's not what you think! Our table raved about the ribs, the corvina, and a wonderful pasta dish. The key lime pie was amazing as well. Tonight's service was impeccable as well! Our first time at this location, but we've always enjoyed the Blakeney location!"

"I had only been to 131 Main one other time several years ago when I did not live in Charlotte. I took my girls there on Saturday night, sat at a tall bistro table in the front by the windows, which we enjoyed. We could watch the outside traffic as well as get an overall view of the restaurant and the lively vibe there. We started with the grilled artichokes, which were perfectly cooked. Two of us had the simply grilled sea bass served with an excellent lime cilantro rice, which was the special fish of the night and the kale salad as a side, which was finely chopped and served with a citrus dressing and lightly tossed with parmesan cheese. The petit filet,which my other daughter ordered, was cooked to perfection! We will be back!"

"The service at 131 Main was outstanding. They use a server team approach which means you are never waiting on someone to take your order, bring your food/drink or process your checks. The manager also stopped by to make sure everything was OK. Everyone at our table had the prime rib special which was really excellent and prepared perfectly (2 mediums and 2 medium rares). It was served with outstanding red mashed potatoes. My only complaint would be there was no vegetable served with the meal. We could have ordered a la carte, but that wasn't clear to us when we ordered the special. The ambiance is also very nice and the restaurant is not too noisy like many are these days. All in all, an excellent dining experience!"

"In appearance--both the decor and the menu--this looks like a standard American restaurant: steak, fish, chicken, burgers, etc. However, the execution of these dishes puts 131 Main a cut above most restaurants, Each item we tried was excellent, and there were enough unique touches to elevate the menu. There's a good variety of appetizers, quite a few interesting salads, and a mix of entrees to please any palate. The smell from the grill makes it tempting to only order grilled items--and you won't go wrong--but other items have the same attention to detail and wonderful taste. Great side items: wonderful kale salad, quinoa salad, cole slaw, etc. Our server often went missing, but a team service approach worked well. Will definitely return."

"131 Main never disappoints! Admin Professionals Day Lunch, quick meeting, romantic evening...doesn't matter. The food, while a bit understated on the menu, will put this thought in you, "this is the way this is supposed to taste!" And that has applied to every meal I've had there. It was especially true of the special corned beef sandwich I had a bite of and the crabcake I ordered. If you don't order the iron skillet cornbread, you should have your license revoked and criminal charges considered against you!"

"My husband and I and my friends have had dinner at this location and the other one in Huntersville several times and we love it every time. No matter the place the service is pleasant,easy and efficient and the food is delicious. And you can share food! We usually share the corn bread, which is divine, the trout (best in Charlotte, probably NC) with the skinny crunchy fries, that with a salad and dessert, the awesome brownie or the delicious peanut butter pie (tastes like peanut butter cheesecake). We have also had their steak, very tasty and perfectly done, their quinoa salad is also very good although cold, their artichokes really tasty. Even their coffee is good."

"We always have a great time at 131 Main. The bar area is very large and the décor is inviting. They have a Main Event where a couple can purchase a bottle of wine, an appetizer, soup or salad, a main course, and a shared dessert for $69 (from a limited menu). We took advantage of this and ordered the cedar plank salmon and shrimp and grits. Both meals were excellent, and we were so stuffed that we ordered the banana pie dessert to go."

"I have been two the Dilworth location about three times, and once to the Cornelius location. I usually order the pork chops paired with the mashed potatoes. When I was at the location this past time, they chef did not cut the pork chop so it came out as a huge piece of meat. I was very surprised because that is not how usually it is served. The waitress was very kind to have them cut it into two pieces which made it definitely more desirable to eat. Enjoy my visit otherwise.

"We had another great meal at 131 Main on Easter Sunday. The food was excellent and the service was flawless, as usual. In addition to the commentary about the general experience, which is consistently excellent, we require a special accomodation that 131 Main handles as a matter of course. Our daughter has very severe allergies to dairy, egg, and peanuts. The team at 131 Main has consistently implemented the right kitchen protocols to make sure her food is safe and she has a great experience as well. The manager and the chef are always available to assure us they can handle the requirements, and they have always done so."

"I have been to this restaurant many times and always found the service very good, however, on this trip, the server rushed us, even though we were dining early. Her attitude and interest in serving us seemed to be ambivalent. It made the dining experience much less enjoyable than we usually have at 131 Main-Dilworth. I will go back but will ask for another seating location."

"131 Main is one of my most favorite restaurants. I frequent the Dilworth restaurant several times a month. This was my first disappointing experience. I ordered the marinated steak. Though the steak was cooked as I had asked, there was so much fat on the steak that less than 50% was edible. My other disappointment was with the server. She took our order but never came by the table again until I asked another waitress to please find her for us. This happened again after our meal when we were trying to get the check. We could see her at the computer speaking with another waitress but could not get her attention. Again we asked a passing waitress to ask her to come to our table. This experience will not stop us from returning but we are wary."

"My girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal. We ate scallops as an appetizer, it is not on the menu as an appetizer, and they were wonderful. For the main course, she had the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked. I had a marinated ribeye with a crab cake on the side which my girlfriend had to try. Rob was our waiter/bartender and his service level was exceptional."

"We very much enjoyed our evening at 131 Main. I can't say there a bunch of items on the appitizer menu that drew much attention. We had a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. The side dishes were great. My companions dinner look a bit better than mine and the portions were huge. I went for something lighter and was satisfied if not bowled over with it.
The service was great and the waitress suggested a signal for when we wanted to order dinner so she didn't have to keep coming by to ask. That made it nices for all.
The drinks we hade before dinner were very good.
Not a quite place to carry on a conversation, but average or better than many I have been to recently. Would go back again.,"

"Great to see the Main open again in Dilworth. Service was great and food was good. Only thing is the waiter had described what turned out to be Corvina, as some type of Sea Bass, my wife did not care for it but I ate most of it :). My iron skillet scallops were fantastic: seared on the outside and medium rare on the inside (they way it should be). We ordered ice cream for the kids and it was a few mins late. They comped both and gave us free deserts for our next 2 visits! You can tell the manager really cares about the customer's impressions of service - looking forward to our next visit."

"We were getting together with old friends whom we hadn't seen for a long time, and this was the perfect location between our homes.
