"Had Mother's Day brunch at Black Sheep. The food was very good, service was outstanding and the bar tender made a mean Bloody Mary. We have eaten dinner there many times but this was the first time for brunch. We will come back!"

"It's really hard to find amazing food in Jacksonville, let alone a restaurant with an atmosphere of adult fun and relaxation. The food was amazing. The service was great. The atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely return again and again. The only downfall I can see is that it doesn't cater very much to people who don't eat meat, and in a neighborhood full of vegans, vegetarians, and hipsters that seems kind of important. However they seem to be doing so well that this is a very small thing."

"What a wonderful new addition to such a beautiful, treasured area of Jacksonville . The unique and modern design attracts the eye and crowd to Black Sheep. Once inside the ambiance takes hold an the moving energy of the city of lights ignites. Even with the busy flow patrons can be seated comfortably, and cozy . If you get a chance peep up to the rooftop, while the house bar does have a variety drinks and wines, the view is what will keep you there. The dining menu is discrete and complete; Perfectly paired dishes like the Duck Poutain or the Shrimp and grits bring the restaurant full circle as flavor ignites. New York style dining and beautiful decor to match both come together for an overall very pleasurable dining experience."

"We arrived for a late dinner on a very rainy Saturday night and the place was still packed. I was a little nervous about how things were going to go because the staff is so very young. I figured, incorrectly, that because our server was so young, that she wouldnt be able to live up to the caliber of the food. Boy was I wrong. Olivia, the waitress was very attentive and knew her stuff. Great job for her!
The food was also some of the best I have had in a while. I had the chicken and dumplings with gorgeous fresh peas and carrots. Yum. Also as a side were the cheese grits. So smooth and creamy, they reminded me of rice pudding. Delicious. I would definitely return again."

"My husband is a chef at a 5-Star resort. We enjoy finding new restaurants but it is difficult to impress him with food. He is much more interested in the overall dining exprerience than the food. He thinks good food should be a given when you go out to dine. We drove about 70 minutes to check out Black Sheep Restaurant and were not disappointed! The atmosphere was contemporary yet rustic and the employees were very friendly. The view from our table to the downtown area added an element of romance to our meal. The menu was fun and it wasn't too pricey. The caesar salad was simple but delcious, as was my husband's fennel salad. The butterscotch creme brulee was OUTRAGEOUSLY delicious, and the fried green olives were amazing!"

"My girlfriends and I had dinner there for my 40th birthday. I had heard great things about the restaurant and love Orsay, so we have it a go. "Only issue I had (and this may have been from Dining on a Tuesday evening) was that they were out of the beer I requested as well as one my girlfriend requested, and then out of one of the appetizers I requested. I like the limited menu that they are starting with (there's still something for everyone), but they should be able to keep things in stock."

"I've been to Black Sheep a total of 4 times and I have never been disappointed. The food is fabulous. The cocktail list is unique. This restaurant has it all. You can either have an intimate early dinner with a friend or come in and mingle over late night drinks. It does get very busy during dinner so reservations are a must if you desire a table. I wish this restaurant appeared years ago. Great asset to the Riverside area!"

"This is a second meal here. Service outstanding (arrived slightly before 5PM). Wish they were a bit more creative (CHEW was a much more interesting adventure with food !) and this ends up being a good bistro type place (fine for the majority, we just miss the lovely dishes from CHEW--especially the sweet breads and new creations whenever we were there). Black Sheep is quite good, just not exciting as I had hoped coming from these chefs."

"My friend and I chose Black Sheep for Girls Night Out and it was definitely a good pick! The ambiance is more New York City than Jax -- very cool. The food was good, but my only complaint was that there was not much for vegetarians/vegans (which I am), and even the peas & carrots were soaked in butter. Hopefully they will add more veg-friendly options soon."

"Went to Black Sheep for my wifes birthday on a Thursday night and both of us had excellent meals. She had salmon and I the beef short ribs. Service was top notch and the roof top bar nice but a little windy that night. Will be back again to try more of the menu."

My wife's birthday...our group was greeted by one of the best waitresses in Jax with a glass of champagne.

"Me and a couple friends went to Black Sheep the other night for dinner and drinks. We had the poutin which was delicious. For dinner I had the burger with french fries. It was a little on the salty side but it was a decent burger. The chipotle aioli served with the french fries was great. For dessert we had the vanilla milkshake with housemade oreos - great ending to an overall delicious dinner. Our server was outstanding too. He was very attentive, knowledgeable and accommodating to our requests. Definitely a place to check out in the Riverside area."

"This was my fourth time eating at Black Sheep. I have not had a bad bite yet, the staff is consistently prompt and helpful.The entrees have interesting combinations which provides a lot of fun for the palette! I do wish that there were more choices for meals without pork, more healthy veggie options would balance the menu better. The patio bar is a fun experience when the weather permits which is most of the time."

"This restaurant fails to let us down. We absolutely love it!! We were celebrating our anniversary so we had brunch on the patio, then we spent the afternoon on the roof-top bar and were not disappointed! Love this place - I hope it lasts in the Riverside / 5Points area. (the price point was about $35 per person for lunch including alcoholic beverages)"

"We went for an early dinner last Friday before a charity event. Good thing we had reservations because this is a hot spot! The service was great - the wait staff very knowledgable and provided insight on the history of the classic cocktails. The cheese plate was very nice, the salad was dressed perfectly.
