Piatti reflects the warm and welcoming family atmosphere of an Italian trattoria. Piatti has a rustic charm and friendly feel that is designed with character and ambiance. The cuisine reflects the style of the Italians, creating simple, flavorful dishes from the day's best and freshest ingredients. Piatti is the ideal venue for private parties, receptions and corporate groups.
"PIattis has great outdoor space, but Mothers Day was a non-event there and in fact the restaurant was anti-family. We watched the manager reprimand kids for being kids - making everyone in the restaurant uncomfortable, on a day that saw many family gatherings. There was nothing offered for the Mother's celebrating their day and the menu is extremely limited. Probably won't go back."

"I must say that my daughter and I enjoy coming to your restaurant whenever possible. It is comfortable and on Mothers Day, the service impeccable. Our server was fantastic, and I wish I could remember his name, but I do not. The food, as always, tasted fantastic...and one of our favorites is the bread with your oil/vinegar dipping...... YUM"

"I had a reservation for Mother's Day in the dinning room and ended up at the bar. It wasn't that busy for lunch and expected to be seated in the dinning room. They wanted to seat us outside which was too hot and if we wanted to wait a half hour, we could be seated in the dinning room. The service was slow for the amount of customers there. The food was good."

"Piatti's, Sacramento has recently been renovated -now basic modern. An outdoor area has been added that is quite nice. I understand that the Chef too has been replaced. This is our 6+ visit to this venue. The food, at least during this last visit, was not up to their usual standard. The beet salad, a nice item, had beets that were way under cooked, although management took the cost off the bill. The pasta special was inspired but salty and the veal piccata was too heavy on the capers - of course, if you really like capers it was probably OK. The drink prices ($9-$10) and the wine prices (house wine was $30 for a $10 retail wine) were excessively high for this grade of restaurant. We will return."

"This restaurant is normally very good. I brought a friend here Saturday evening for her birthday. The ravioli was outstanding, a unique flavor I had never experienced; extremely delicious. I was tempted to place another order for it (yes, that good!) When the entrees came, however, both my guest and I were stunned at how salty the meals were (she, halibut, me, veal). Both of us enjoy salt quite a bit and we did our best to eat the meals but it was just too much. That said, the manager personally came to our table to sincerely apologize and was very gracious about taking care of it. I will definitely come back again (as I have many times before), for the raviolis if nothing else!!! Great restaurant."

"My family had Easter lunch/brunch at Piatti. We were a party of 10. The server was nice, but wasn't very knowledgable of several items we had questions about. Service was slow & her timing was so off. She initially took drink orders & only asked a few people. Didn't ask about kids drinks. Came back 3 times because she wasn't getting everyone's order. The drink orders took a long time & were inconsistent (different garnishes on same drinks...some came with straws, others nothing, etc). The food, however was amazing! Everyone loved their choices. Maybe with a more experienced server, the experience would have been perfect."

"This restaurant was my favorite Italian restaurant in the Sacramento area. I was very disappointed in this visit, and I can honestly say that now I'm questioning whether or not I'll ever go back. The waiter was incredibly rude, he was rude when we declined dessert and then he gave us the wrong change, then he was rude about fixing our change! We ate less than half of our pizza and he was supposed to box it up and bring it back and we waited for over 10 minutes and he had not returned our pizza. There were less than 5 occupied tables in the entire restaurant. It was ridiculous. This restaurant was genuinely my favorite and I would've recommended it to any but now I doubt I'll go back. The service was just so horrible and disrespectful."

"Our meal and waitress was excellent. The bar wasn't that busy and it took a very long time for our cocktails after ordering. My Manhattan tasted almost like they used a little rose water, very strange taste. Dinner was wonderful all the way around the table, waitress was very attentive and I appreciated not having to ask for bread, they refilled on there own. The decor was a bit too minimalistic for me, I miss the other decor and table-clothes, thought it was a bit more elegant before. Maybe tablecloths would make it feel note like restaurants in Yountville, etc. Will come back as the location to East Sac works for us and the food was memorable. Shredded brussel sprouts with the chicken, amazing!"

"One of us had a seafood salad that was light and fresh, and the other a green salad with salmon. The salmon was requested to be cooked medium, but came so rare we thought it would wiggle off the plate. By the time the mistake was discovered, we were halfway through lunch. So we took it home to re-heat. The restaurant is all renovated, very sleek and modern. Frankly, I'm mystified as to why they did it. The layout remains the same, and the old tile floor and more homey decor were, we thought, more cozy and welcoming than the new. But our server was charming and eager to please, and well informed about some otherwise mysterious additions to the menu, including "crazy water" (a sauce). On the whole, well worth a visit."

"Piatti used to be a favorite but after this visit I doubt I would go back. Poor , indifferent service, pasta that rivals canned spaghetti, uncomfortable chairs and tables and a server who seemed to want to be anywhere else except serving."

"We had an event, followed by dinner for several dear friends. Piatti's did an excellent job catering the event, and accomodating a post-event dinner that doubled in size from our reservation."

"If you don't like the music, ask to be seated in the sun room. Other than it being too noisy in the main dining area for conversation, the food is very good. The barrel tasting wine by the glass is excellent. I am not sure why they remodeled the interior, but oh, well."

"Very good service, friendly, and consistant quality of food, however the calamari appetizer was a little off the normal standard as a little too greasy and lacking the quality I have had in the past."

"The waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. We brought wine and another head waiter approached us and offered a free glass of wine that he suggested might pair well with our appetizer and one of our main dishes. The choice was very good."

"If you dine at Piatti's and they sit you at their newly enclosed patio, bring a hearing aid to hear the specials and then ear plugs to deaden the cacophony after so you can eat in peace. How noisy was it? Was at a two top with a customer, when the server told us the specials. if she was facing him I could't hear them. We had her come back and repeat them twice, once facing me and turning her head slightly now facing him. I like lively but that was rediculous."

"The food & service were excellent, but it was too noisy in the area where we were seated. The floors are concrete and all the surfaces hard and reflective. There was a table of 6 young women nearby, which made conversation very difficult."

"the food was just OK. The service was very slow, and our server was inattentive--did not fill water glasses, did not check on us often enough. He brought us the dessert menus and then went away and was gone so long we almost decided to just skip it...."

"The renovation is great and the whole restaurant looks fresh and new. noise level has improved (that is, it's less than before). the menu is bold and interesting and the food very good, imaginative and attractively served. but the service leaves something to be desired. we had to ask for bread, which had been promised early in our stay, and it didn't arrive until after our mains. the server brought me the wrong pizza and had to go back to change the order, so my friend ate while I watched. We told the server that we had a concert that night and needed dessert to be brought quickly; coffee came after about 5 minutes but dessert (a bowl of sorbet each) did not arrive until later. Hope Piatti can iron out these difficulties!"

"Our party loved the food, and the ambiance and decor are great! The wine was really good. Overall, we'd love to come back....with one exception: we made a reservation asking for a quiet table and we were seated in a patio-like area right next to the bar. It was VERY noisy, making conversation difficult throughout our excellent meal."

"that is my second visit to the restuarant since the remodel and I am very dissappointed. Both times the food was cold, the service was slow, there are no tablecloths on the table. The menu is limited. I will not be returning to Piattis and I used to love it. The drinks are too expensive and it is not worth the money at all. Nothing compared to Ruth Chris...sorry my party of eight felt the same way about the restuarant. The waitress was trying so hard but I feel like there are not enough staff for a high class restuarant. No onebrough more bread and when we asked she said it was frozen, really on a Friday night at 7:45???? Mrs. Wagner"

"Well, I'm bummed to write that the OLD PIATTI's that I used to enjoyed is dead. I no longer live in the Sacramento area. My first visit to Piatti's was in Yountville years ago. Anyway - Mgr Nick & staff are awesome. No single item stood out as a 'foodie' must go to. Ambiance is a bit sterile. Nothing stood out. I had the olives from the warmed wood fired stove. No zip... no smoke... no meyer lemon flavor... nada. $9. Rethink this chef. The small cheese and chili pepper pizza was excellent. Great crust. Worth a repeat. The chicken with brussel spouts was common (and cooked correctly)... just like I make at home. The steak salad was tasty enough - but again lacked creativity or zing. The cobb salad was enjoyed by the guest"
