Abalonetti Bar and Grill is one of the original restaurants on Monterey's Historic Fisherman's Wharf. Famous for Monterey calamari, we now feature more than 20 different preparations from local squid processed in-house. "We were seated at a super little table with a great view, and my husband wanted to know if I had come by earlier and bribed the maitre'd! No, I just included a comment with my online open table reservation request that it was our anniversary! Abalonetti was a super place to celebrate, with a great view, superb service, and the food was delicious, too! Everything from the caeser salad, oysters, scampi, salmon and canoli were perfect! Thank you Abolenetti and Open Table for a super anniversary dinner!"

"We have dined at this restaurant a number of times and have always loved it. Yesterday, it took our server a long time to come over to us and bring us any bread or take our order. He never told us what the specials of the day were so luckily I had noticed one of them in particular going into the restaurant.
Once the order was taken, then it took a very long time for the food to arrive.
The food was delicious and we enjoyed the meal.
The waiter also never asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert.
None of this would deter us from returning since the last time we were there, everything was perfect.
It seems perhaps the restaurant was understaffed for this particular day."

"I have eaten here many times and it is still one of my favorites. However, this time they burned the meatloaf! They said that they are all cooked in the morning and so it was the morning crew's fault. So I switched to the salmon which was perfect. They appologized and offered me a free dessert."

"My wife's calamari special was tough and the eggplant was overcooked. It was something I would expect to get out of a frozen box meal at Costco or Safeway. Bread was great, the view was good and the service was o.k.. We would not go there again and most locals feel the same way."

"I have been to Abalonettis multiple times and have very much enjoyed it. This last time however my calamari was over cooked, dry and a bit rubbery. It will not keep my from coming back as mistakes can happen and as I mentioned, previous dinners have been excellent. The rest of my party liked their food very much."

"We read a lot of reviews before going to Abalonetti Bar and Grill for dinner. We did not want the typical mediocre tourist food and we did not get it! It was wonderful. My husband has not stopped talking about Marty's special.. wish we had one more night to eat there and sample more of the menu. The waiter sang Happy Birthday to me. The next time we visit the area, we will return to this restaurant. The prices are reasonable too."

"Abalonetti is a good choice for eating on the wharf. The food was good, I had ciopino, delicious, however somewhat messy to eat. There is a lazyman's version which I wish I had ordered. My husband had a crab louie which he liked, but wondered if the crab was fresh, and not frozen. The service was fine, although with all restaurants these days the waiters want to grab the plates from the table BEFORE everyone is finished, which doesn't make for a comfortable experience, and makes the experience feel rushed."
