"Nice bar, great service, wholesome food. The pub is bit dark for my taste (we dined mid-morning, a time when some daylight would be nice) but maybe I'm just getting old :-) I'd definitely have breakfast there again though."

"Can't beat the Beer Cheese Nachos ($4) and a pitcher of Lagunitas IPA ($12) during Happy Hour! Then we both had Fish 'n Chips which were excellent. Nice atmosphere, and excellent service."

"I had never been to de Vere's before in my life. A few of my friends had before me and said it was good. I recently booked a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a really good experience. Our waiter Dave was great and met all our needs and even stayed on shift until we left."

"We showed up at 4pm (during spring break, so not busy) in order to use de Vere's wireless for group work while enjoying a beer and appetizers.
Perfect. Super great staff and amazing beer. Food, eh -- I don't love bar food. But this is more sophisticated than most places. The students LOVED the wings and fries. I appreciated the breads, cheeses, etc.
Totally successful moment!"

"While the service was very good, the food was not. One of our party could not eat the spare ribs she had ordered and the rest of the food was adequate. The menu selection was very limited.

"I've been to de Vere's a few times and I've pretty much always had a good time. I should go more. Next time I'll come back for a brunch that includes alcohol (this visit was work-related) since seems like some good drinks."

"We went here for dinner on a Friday night, with our reservation we were seated right away, service was very friendly and accomodated our few alterations to our order. Parking was not pleasant, we parked in the garage a block and a half away. Food was good but not what I was hoping for, not great. I'm a glutton though and nostalgic for European food like we had when our husbands were in the military so I'll go back and try something else, I was hoping for something amazing, maybe I just didn't order the right thing this time. I will say though, the appetizer and dessert was off the chart."

"We requested a quiet table because we have two kids and are not particularly fond of loud places. We got to the pub and there was a live band playing music in the main area. We were a bit worried about the noise but we were brought to a room in the back that was wonderfully quiet even though it was just around the corner from the band. Service as usual was excellent as was the food. My favorite place in Davis now ..."

"We had a group of 5 for a birthday lunch. It was Sunday and the restaurant was packed, but we had the perfect table a bit away from the noise. We all tasted a bit of mac and cheese which is quite delectable. Everyone cleaned their plates, except me, and the Irish stew and fish and chips were especially enjoyed. Since the bourbon burger has been discontinued I ordered the short rib burger. I personally think the bourbon burger was much tastier.
All 5 of us agreed we liked the food and the energy of the restaurant and would definitely return."

"We're from out of the areea so we chose this pub baised solely on Open Table information. Wow. We were inpressed by all the details to make it a special place. (homemade bread, butchering own meats, many gluten free items and many other house made additions).
Everything we had was high quality and delicious. All 3 of us said we would return next time we are passing by Davis.
