"In my own words, which i would not choose from above: We have been to Jolane's a couple of times lately and a while ago, and we have never been disappointed. The ambience is dignified without being snobbish; warm, as in rich wood walls that recall tradition, encouraging delight in comfortable classic foods with a twist of modern presentation. The polite, friendly and easily-approachable staff enjoys their roles as servers, respectful of diners' particular wishes. The fact that diners can wear nice casual attire makes the experience at Jolane's a very unusual experience, combining comfort and elegance.
The fact that I was able to procure a reservation for the first time online was an added plus."

"This place is a great find! Think high-end coffee shop meets wood paneled Pub. Leather banquet seating, dark wood floors, dark granite tables, and if you want a lighter vibe, there is seating in a glass conservancy - something for whatever mood you are in. Interesting menu, but also some safe choices for those who are less adventurous. That said it is a great place to meet parents for lunch, soccer mom friends for wine and desserts, and a nice option for an easy dinner if you find yourself shopping at Abt just one parking lot over."

"Very good restaurant, although it's off the beaten path. Food is consistently good at both lunch and dinner. Service is very helpful. They have a decent wine list and you have the opportunity to sample wines before you choose. Wine prices are very acceptable. However, on the last two visits they were out of some regular items -- one was the rib eye which is an excellent choice, and the second was the dressing that accompanies a standard salad on the menu. You would think they would always have plenty of the standard menu items."

"We decided to dine inside since we liked the ambience better inside. It was very calm, quiet and relaxing and we could carry on a converstion easily. Our server was very attentive, professional and efficient. The food was amazing. The soup was served piping hot. The taste and presentation of the main dishes was excellent. There were four of us and we each got something different. We were all vey pleased with our selections. The dessert selections were equally delicious and unique. This was our first time here and we will definitely come back to try some of the other selections on the menu."

"Been here 3 times and brought 2 other couples. This was the least satisfying of the 3 times..- I was embarrassed that the restaurant was my suggestion. I've always had good service, but there was a party in the same room & we seemed to be an afterthought.."

"We were a group of 6 for a pre-Mother's Day dinner. There were several other groups that night as well. Even with all the groups, the service was very good. Everyone in out party enjoyed their meal. I enyoed sitting in the atrium as it provides a more open feel."

"my "special" of the evening was eggplant parmesan. Not only was it dry and looked like it had sat in the oven for a long time. There was no pasta or anything as a side. The tenderloin spatzel my friend had had no eye appeal not even garnished with some parsely and she picked at it and left a lot. I have eaten here before and it was much better. Perhaps there is a turn over in owners or chefs."

"our waiter while he seemed nice was very unattentive. seems he had a bridal party going on in the same room so he was busy with them. we had 2-3 people waiting on us which was confusing. don't understand why he would be assigned our table also. food was very good, prices seemed reasonable but noise level was high. sat next to 2 toddlers and thank goodness they were very quiet.i specifically asked not to be seated by children. would go back but would sit away from the party room.thanks"

"The food is really very good. Nothing that will blow you away, but it is not meant to be. One of us had a bone in rib eye that was nice. Could you do better at Ruth's Chris or Capital Grill? Probably for about 50% more money. Another of us had the planked salmon which she said was "perfect." Soneone else had the schnitzel which was really nicely done and there was more than she could eat. And I had the veggie burger with a side of asparagus. They make their own veggie burgers (as opposed to frozen) and it was very good. THe asparagus was cooked perfectly. Soups were good and the pastries are outstanding. The service was excellent!"

"This place is a great find even though it's not in an area with scenic view. Our server is really funny, accommodating and made us feel welcomed. We were seated in the covered veranda where the bar is located. It's hard to hear each other when the place is a bit crowded.
Everyone was going for the two Wagyu beef burger choices that they found very tasty. My Norwegian salmon burger is delectable. Most had Garlic Parmesan fries but the Sweet potato fries were phenomenal! Two words for dessert: Opera torte. I will come back to try more of their entrees."

"I enjoy the old world Austrian flavor of a number of their dishes. It used to be a tad on the expensive side when they were a la carte for entrees and soup or salad, but now that these are included they are competitive with the neighborhood. Nice wine list, and special half price wine and Martini days. I enjoy their brisket and cedar planked salmon, as well as a great selection of hot teas. I do miss the press/infuser pots though--now just a regular tea pot, with less tea. Yes, you can always get more hot water, but the press-down pots were fun differentiators and you could see when the tea was steeped properly."

"The food was great but our bar bill had 2 additional charges that we did not drink on it. I don't normally look at the bill in detail but I'm glad i did that night. That was very disappointing and frankly made me question the restaurant."

"We had a new waiter who didn't know enough about the wines or the menu, didn't bring ketchup with our burger and fries and poured out the entire carafe instead of leaving some and placing it on the table the way they used to do.
Our calamari appetizer portion was tiny - they either were running out and trying to stretch it for a few more portions or decided to cut back to save $ - either way it was disconcerting.
The Harvest Salad was good however the chicken pieces are long thin strings which are nary visible in the mixture and they are hard to taste mixed with everything else. Large pieces would be more visually interesting, taste better and show how much chicken is in there - not enough now and too many tortilla strip strips."

"The best part of this was that it was casual. We ate early (around 5:30) as we were with my 90-something mother-in-law. My first impression was that with its high ceilings, it was a bit noisy. I also thought it was a tad too bright. Granted we ordered our drinks along with our meal; however, we were already into our meal before the drinks arrived. I had the beet salad as an appetizer which was just sliced beets on plain greens. There was a swirl of reduced balsamic on the side of the plate but nothing on the greens. My seared ahi tuna was pleasant with welcomed avocado slices. My husband had the flavorful brisket, and my mother-in-law had the chicken pot pie. The sides of corn and sweet potatoes were uninspiring."

"Great presentation and very well prepared dishes. The beet salad is yummy but definitely needs a little more balsamic vinegar for the greens. The menu has a nice range of choices and portions are ample. Service is either really terrific or so-so depending upon the server. Staff is all very nice. We'll be back for a pleasant and tasty meal."

"This was out first Saturday evening at Jolane's and we were shocked by how crowded it was. Took a little time (4 or 5 minutes) to get a waiter but we were actually approached by two within a few minutes as they were covering for each other while they had big parties in the restaurant. We had fried calamari - which were good but not a big enough portion. The Bacon Blue Cheese Burger and the Petite Filet crusted with blue cheese were excellent. The garlic parmesan fries were really crispy and hot and could have used a touch more garlic but were still delicious. The burger had good beef flavor and moistness with a tasty pretzel roll. Our waiter served us an extra large pour of wine as our second glasses took a while to be served."

"A simple european restaurant. Part of the Abt kingdom it seems. I think it is a good lunch place. The pastries are very good. If you are shopping and need a bite then I think it is fine. Not special enough for a special trip."

"My daughter and I took her sons (4, 2-1/2 and 5 weeks) to lunch at Jolane's. The kids' menu was wonderful as was the service. Food was delicious and the boys received ice cream cones (free!) with their meals. We'll certainly be back!"
