Butera's Restaurant of Smithtown, always well known for its generous portions and great value is also now featuring a family style dining menu to better accommodate our guests. Complete with a full bar and room for private, on premise catering, Butera's Restaurant has been serving the town of Smithtown and its surrounding areas for the last five years. Our staff is gracious and attentive and able to accommodate most requests. We hope to see you dining with us soon so that we can bring our welcoming family atmosphere to you just as we have with so many customers before.

"I love Butera's of Smithtown. It is perfect for a dinner for my husband and I that is close to home (Smithtown) and it has been a great spot for me and "the girls" to enjoy wine and a great meal. In addition, we have brought our 2 girls with us and the restaurant has been so incredibly accommodating. Just a pure gem! Our favorite locale for sure!"

"We were a group of 7 women celebrating a birthday. Jessica, our waitress, was excellent as was the food. I ordered the grilled salmon and a number of the women ordered the shrimp risootto special. We ordered a family stye eggplant rollatini and a salad to start ~ the eggplant was excellent. We've been here before for our 'birthday club' because they have a large round table that can accomodate approx 10 of us. We very much like Butera's and wll definitly return there again."

"We love going to Buteras...we had an 8pm reservation and ended up being about 10 minutes late because we couldn't find parking...even though we were late and it was a busy Saturday night we only waited about 10 minutes for our table. The food is excellent especially the chicken meatball pizza appetizer. The only negative thing I will say is that it is VERY noisy and the tables are VERY close together...so its hard to get up and down if you have to go to the bathroom or something. The food is very good and we loved everything that we had!"

"I took my husband, parents and friends out for dinner to celebrate my husband's college graduation. Although we made reservations and still had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, the wait was well worth it. The service was impeccable and the food was just fantastic. We ordered the calamari and warm goat cheese salad for appetizers and the apps were brought out to us not even 10 minutes after we ordered it. And we ordered family style dishes with the chicken meatball lasagna (?) and chicken francaise with sides of sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. For 6 people, there was still way too much food. But the food was excellent. I hadn't been to Butera's in a couple years and now I remember what I was missing. All in all, we loved it."

"This was the first time I went there, I really liked the fact that they DID NOT have a restricted menu, and was very pleased that I was able to choose off their menu. They did have specials which i tried one of the appetizers. I have read the reviews before, and the only downside to this place is the noise, the people behind me had such deep loud voices that I actually thought the radio was on, when in fact it was their voice bouncing off the walls. Food was good, generous portion, I had a great glass of Merlot as well and had Mocachino coffee at the end which was delicious, my son had the raspberry cheesecake of which I was able to taste the tiniest piece and that was very rich and creamy"

"I have been to All Butera's locations and this particular experience was exceptional. My co-worker and I treated our Admin. Asst. for Admin. Day there. We ordered family style. "This was our first time here and we loved it. The menu selection is vey elaborate so there is definitely something for everyone. We also really liked how you can order every dish as individual or family style. It was just the 2 of us and we wanted different things so we ordered individual meals but even those portions were extremely generous. The food is very good and our waiter was vey nice and knowledgable. He was happy to suggest meals that he felt were the top sellers and others that were his favorite. This was good since they offer SO many dishes. I would definitely recommend Butera's anyone looking for quality Italian food and a good price!"

"We made a reservation on open table when we arrived late the manager was very accommodating with us and sat us within 5 minutes. They split a four top into a two top which shoved us against the wall with another couple practically on top of us. The waitress was rude and shoved a feature menu in my face. We then ordered a bottle of wine which we only revived after we finished our appetizers and we had to point out to the manager that there was a major service error going on here. He was great and got our wine as soon as possible and even took care of it for us. After we got a manager involved the waitress changed her tune. The food was outstanding I myself a sous chef thought the food was fantastic and saved the evening for us."

"We come here all the time with our whole family (young kids included) and we are always pleased. We have had two of our sons christening parties here and all the guest praised the food. "Butera's is a great neighborhood restaurant. We go there often, the food is always fresh. The meals tasty, the service very good. Only complaint is the noise level. This is not a restaurant for an intimate dinner. Friday and Saturday nights are so noisy you are practically screaming. Not good for conversation. But the food is worth it."

"I made these reservations for 7PM for my daughter's 18th birthday. Under special instructions section, I said it was her birthday and to please arrange for whatever birthday desert thing they normally do.
We arrived about 13 minutes late for our reservation, and while the restaurant was only about half full, it took nearly 15 minutes for them to seat us. Once we sat down and were warmly greeted by the waitress, I excused myself to go make sure they know it was my daughter's birthday. She had no idea. I said I had put it in the instruction section of the Open Table reservation and she just shrugged and apologized.
We love this restaurant and go their often. They need to pay attn to the special instuction section of the reservation"

I realize it is a family style restaurant but really young children should not be able to run through the restaurant! we never let our children do that! its very disrespectful to other diners!! "We love the food at Butera's, and the hostess did her best to seat us at our favorite table in the corner. However, I had forgotten how loud the background noise was on a Saturday evening, and it was very difficult to converse with our friends. Our meals were delicious,and service was very good, but I believe we will save Butera's for dining during the week when it will surely be quieter. For the young crowd, it is a "happening" on a Saturday night, and we (older folks) need a calmer setting."

"I usually love this place, but had my first so-so experience recently. There was no parking because of the terrible job of clearing the snow in the parking lot, so I dropped my wife off and the hostess would not seat her until I arrived. By the time I got there other people were seated ahead of us even though I had a reservation. Needless to say we had to wait. We were not offered the Prix Fixe Meal even though I had a reservation prior to 5 P.M. The rest of the meal was okay, but not up to their usual standards."

"We had a wonderful time, the food was fabulous and the wine exceptional, but our service was slow and our waitress was not as attentive as we would have liked. It took us a long time to get replacement silverware and plates and additional drinks and butter for the table. The portions were generous and done well. We had the asparagus app and it was good but when we asked the waitress for additional balsamic glaze, we never did get it to the table. we would go again"

"I have been there twice. The food was plentiful but not memorable. There are other Italian restaurants that have better red sauces. We ran out of water and no one around for a refill. The restaurant is convenient to the theater ."

"The food was absolutely fantastic from the bread they bring out as soon as you sit down to the fish entree I ordered. I was so satisfied withe prices and the quality and quantity of the food. The service wasn't outstanding but it was late Valentine's day evening so it was very understandable. overall very good!"
