"When dining out I love to order an items I don't normally fix at home. This appetizer is a perfect example... The Bone Marrow with Crispy Sweetbreads was smooth and rich, unctuous and irresistible. Dipping a crispy sweetbread into the marrow was an added treat. The roasted garlic, flaked sea salt and currents rounded out the dish. If you have a never tried this simple dish, Lincoln does it right."

"Pretentious menu with many items that we couldn't eve figure out what they were. The portions were tiny for the price and the salmon undercooked. Pea tendrils at $7 bucks.really just green string. I will say this is the worst dining experience I have had in several years...so embarrassing to have chose this spot for two out of town guests that I ended up picking up the tab."

"I have been hearing lots of great things about Lincoln for the last several months, so when we got our food and the risotto was WAY undercooked, and the steak was chock full of gristle, I was a bit disappointed. I hope that they do well, as I love the neighborhood they are situated in and want businesses to continue to move in, but I can't go back and support them myself."

"This was so fantastic!! I say 'kid-friendly' because they do offer a bowl of pasta with butter and cheese for kids but other than that, there is no kids menu. My 9 year old had the pasta and the grilled octopus appetizer. She LOVED all of hers plus my quail. She is not a picky eater and I wouldn't bring one here. There were 8 of us and it was a great table for 8. We had a vegetarian in the mix loved hers as well. Wow- the amazing flavors! We will be back for sure!"

"I was there with a friend for her birthday in December, and she was wished "happy birthday" by everyone we came in contact with - we felt very welcome, and our server was wonderful. We were given a birthday dessert, which made the experience all the more special. Last week was my birthday, and we chose to return to Lincoln, expecting the same wonderful reception. The birthday was mentioned when the reservation was made. None of the staff acknowledged the occasion, either on arrival or when our orders were taken. "We had four people and hoped to just do an informal happy hour with lighter food, but the only seating assigned to happy hour was atte counter and a window seat by the door which was chilly each time the door opened. We were basically forced into a fill meal or revisiting our situation and finding another restaurant. I was not particularl y pleased. However, since I was there last, the level of background sound (music) was much better. The food was fine."

"The food at Lincoln was excellent, though we needed to consult a dictionary to understand some of the ingredients. We had the kale salad - yummo - and the blood orange salad was equally tasty. The lamb chop put others to shame. And you absolutely have to try the onion rings. We were at Lincoln on a Friday night - and it was loud. Nevertheless, the service was great, and our water glasses were always full."

"Lincoln has good intention, overall, but the delivery is okay. Lincoln would be a fantastic option if the entrees were in the "up to $20 range," but when prices compare to restaurants such as Higgins and Meriwether, it really lacks delivering a comparable experience. It is a nice and hip atmosphere, and good food. But overall, I would not recommend for special occasions. Service was okay, nothing fantastic. Desserts not so good, but not terrible either. All in all, a good average restaurant, but slightly overpriced."

Service was fantastic (I believe our waiter was also the bartender and he was great). We started with the polenta fries and fried squash (I wanted to try the octopus but my friend doesn't care for it) and they were good (the aioli was great). Service was fantastic (I believe our waiter was also the bartender and he was great). We started with the polenta fries and fried squash (I wanted to try the octopus but my friend doesn't care for it) and they were good (the aioli was great). "The service was impecable. It has been a long time since I have seen such attentive service from all those we encountered. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was friendly and helpful. Our server was very knowlegeable and not at all pretentious. The food was delicious. All very well balanced and prepared. The only thing I would change is to make it warmer. Next to the big windows it was pretty cold. I am sure in the summer and fall it is wonderful but in the winter.....brrrr."

"Great menu and well presented plates. Obvious talent in the kitchen I would recommend to any fellow foodie.
They advertise a happy hour, so we showed up early for our dinner reservation to embibe, but unfortuately the bar seating was full, and no other seating is available for drinks, so we had to go across the street until our reservation time.
To their credit, the hostess realized we had been inconvenienced and when we began our meal, they comped an appetizer. It is rare these days to have such courtesies, and we appreciated the gesture. The rest of the meal was great. Wine recomendation by our waitress was very very good--and not the highest priced bottle on the list.
We will be back to Lincoln."

"Rating the overall experience as outstanding isn't saying enough! The main thing that made us immediately be excited about being there was the welcoming you receive, they were excited that you had a reservation, offered to take your coast, and asked "Would you like a drink?" The great service was seamless from the host to the waiter. The bartender even ensured our drinks were to our liking. The food matched the service. The menu is well thought out and everything was appealing. Wine by the glass was reasonable and interesting. The lamb was some of the best i've had. Only complaint was we wanted more of the bone marrow, so delicious, but the portion was a little small. Great restaurant!"

"My first trip to Lincoln blew my mind--everything was unique, perfectly made, exceptionally tasty and really interesting. Since then we've gone every season or so, to keep up with changing ingredients and new ideas. However, on this, our 7th or 8th trip to Lincoln, we were notably underwhelmed. Sauce was way too salty, the fritters OK but kind of boring, the child sized portion of pasta had little of the taste (or even visual evidence) of the listed ingredients. Not bad mind you, but definitely not on the same level as our other trips, about every 3-6 months or so. We'll give it one more try in late spring or early summer and we'll see...but it's dropping in our personal pantheon. Too bad! We really like the atmosphere."

"The food was good and the menu was certainly full of interesting dishes- sweetbreads, marrow, and Even blood were featured in some choices- though this certainly doesn't qualify as 'unique' in Portland. Dishes were also very small for the price, even for upper scale eats.
The ambiance was nice and the seating staff was pleasant, however, our waitress was very cold and not friendly- kind of a mood killer during an anniversary dinner.
I would probably come back for happy hour- but not for dinner."
