"The service was excellent and friendly. They also accepted our request to sit in a quite place in the restaurant although that is a relative question since the restaurant is noisy all over. The music was too loud and did not seem to fit the environment."

"Took my mom to Gaetanos for Mother's Day. Service and staff were excellent. They assured me they could prepare a meatball sandwich for my mom even though its not offered on the weekend menu. Was impressed with the newly renovated space. Much more open and bright. Wait staff was very efficient and kind. Only complaint was they were piping in 60's music much louder than necessary which really ruined the ambiance. My mom has been going to Gaetanos since the 50's and we will return to get another fun Italian meal. Would love to hear some Sinatra music on our next visit."

"Staff seemed distracted/uncoordinated. Took a long time to order drinks, and a long time to get them. Although slow, drinks were well-made. Staff kept moving the sliding glass around after we asked to keep the sun out of our eyes.
Antipasta and pasta dishes were very good, non-traditional entrees seemed lacking in flavor and execution.
Felt like a brand-new restaurant working out kinks, not a decades-old establishment. We'll give the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a re-model throwing off their game, and try again in a few weeks."

"Our reservation for 6:15 was promptly honored even though the dining room was nearly full. Our waiter really knew the menu and wine list, able to provide great suggestions. The pacing of dinner was perfect. The service was attentive with the food delivered from the kitchen by the first available server, including the manager, ensuring that everything arrived immediately after preparation. We enjoyed multiple courses and sampled most everything that was served to our party of four. Of special note, they serve a classic, perfectly prepared, Caesar salad; whole leaves of tender romaine lettuce intended to be eaten with the fingers. This team delivers value for food and service."

"Gaetano's is a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some great food. We had the veal parmigiana and it was delicious and very filling. The only draw back was the noise. It was bit loud to hold a decent conversation. That just goes to show that this place gets a lot of business. We will definitely go back."

"Dining at Gaetano's is always a wonderful experience. We live downtown and love to recall the past and coming glory of the 38th/Tejon neighborhood. "Great food, wasn't sure if I would like the sauce on the special of the day so chef made some for me to try prior to ordering. Our waiter was very helpful giving recommendations. We ordered the sausage dish and said he really liked it with mushrooms added, nice suggestion. Really enjoyed the entire experience and I would go back to try other dishes. Great find. I was catching up with girlfriends I hadn't seen in awhile and the staff did not hassle us to release the table, we went on a Wednesday night early so could be different later or on weekends."

"Being a 4th generation native of Denver, this was my first visit to Gaetano's which is located in the North Denver community where my parents grew up. From what I understand, the restaurant has been renovated and remodeled and is very charming and comfortable. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately! The food was delicious and our server was very attentive. This restaurant accommodates patrons with special dietary needs including gluten free options. My friend and I truly enjoyed our dining experience."

"Seemingly authentic home-cooked Italian meals. They may, or may not, have my grandma somewhere back in the kitchen. Friendly wait staff that appears to enjoy their job. Exceptional service and a great atmosphere. Other restaurants could learn a thing or two from Geatano's. Oh, and the prices for meals are very reasonable. A great historical background as well.
Friday nights with "Frank Sinatra" are simply amazing must attend nights. It makes you feel as if you were in a romantic movie.

"The new updated look and the service were the top qualities about our visit to Gaetano’s. The food was okay and the atmosphere was lively. There wasn’t anything that really stuck out and made me have a desire to return. The noise level was very high and people were packed in which really affected the ambiance you’d expect in a Italian restaurant. With so many similar “hip” joints in the neighborhood, Gaetano’s really needs to deliver in every way to survive. I’m not sure they are there yet."

"A little more of a hipster place than I expected, crowd was pretty young. Fun but more of a bar than a restaurant. Food was decent but nothing to rave about. Though my Italian heritage and experience with authentic food via my family I am tough to please when it comes to Italian food.

"We had a wonderful time at Gaetano's last Friday night! Our waiter was top notch and he knew a lot about the menu items and the wine selections. Our friend who was visiting from NY and who manages a winery in the Hudson River Valley was very impressed with our waiter's knowledge of the wine list :) Wish I could remember the waiters name but I think we drank too much wine! Anyway, everyone loved their meals and we all had a wonderful night there! We will be returning to Gaetano's soon!"

"Gaetano's is old school Italian done fairly well. Service is the low point with staff doing "shots" with bar customers while restaurant customers languish for service. Staff just gather around the back of the place or in the kitchen and chat, or worse yet, go out in group smoke breaks while people stand in front waiting to be seated. Several people left before being seated. This place desperately needs a manager to manage."

"No one acknowledged us for 15 minutes at the door. My husband had to go find someone to tell them about our reservation. Tables were waaaay too close to each other. I could only talk to my neighbor on my side of the booth because it was too noisy to hear or speak to my husband. My neighbor couldn't speak to her own husband either because of the noise. I did not know this person but she was sad because of this because it was a birthday dinner for her and a belated Valentine's Day celebration for us. Food was great and so was the service. Not a cozy romantic place that I had hoped for. Not sure I would return for dinner. The tables were like sitting at cafeteria tables. Might return for lunch. "Frank Sinatra" was very entertaining."

"It was nice to see the "new" Gaetanos. It was a fun evening and the food and service were very good. The atmosphere was a bit noisy - we sat at the back by the bar - and people gathered there while waiting for their table - making it more lively than we'd like. But it was restaurant week - and lots of people go out. We'll definitely go again. The food was excellent, and the waiter was very personable and did a good job."

"The location of this venue was in a type of neighborhood I was uncertain about but this place came with great reviews so I figured it was a HOT SPOT to celebrate a momentus occasion. The FOOD was very tasty, pleasing to the taste buds. The ambiance was one that surprised me given the outside of the venue, very very ROMANTIC, loved to see the history on the walls, that made our time there extra special. Our wait staff was very attentive and most certainly helpful and suggestive which was very welcomed as that was our first time visiting! He made us feel like a King and Queen. We definitely will be frequenting this establishment again!"

"This is my second visit to Gaetano's for dinner. The hostess made sure that we had a nice booth as requested in my reservation. The Valentine special was an excellent choice! Everything was cooked to perfection. The wahoo fish was a very healthy portion and it was cooked perfectly! The house wine was very good although the pours could have been a bit more substantial for my taste, but then again who does not like a healthy pour. Just an idea, since this building has so much old Denver history in it, maybe the wait staff could offer up some historical trivia for the customers if they were interested in knowing more about the decor and history."

"Very noisy restaurant. Seating is very close to other customers, and we found it difficult to carry on a conversation due to the noise level. Our server completely forgot that he had our table and our food order did not make it to the kitchen. They did eventually buy us dinner, but I found the hostess to be somewhat defensive in her apology; even though we were patient and understanding, though slightly annoyed. The food was amazing and will likely bring us back to this restaurant, not to mention the cool history."
