"We went with friends for Austin Restaurant Week. We had no idea what to expect and hadn't read any reviews. The menu looked good so that is how we picked it. We were more than impressed. The atmosphere was fun, though it is sort of a sports bar/restaurant, the tv's were muted so it wasn't distracting. The service was really attentive but not over the top. The food was amazing! Great salads and the mini tacos were just about a meal in themselves. The surf and turf was terffic, perfectly cooked, tender with a very decedent cream sauce that was so flavorful. Great wine list, comfortable enviroment and we will absolutely return."

"Great food, the truffle mac n cheese is to die for. Even though it is a little far from downtown where I live I will make the beautiful hill country drive to FORE many more times to come."

"We were surprised to find multiple large tv screens in both the bar and the patio dining area. We asked if there was a dining room without a tv and were seated in a more formal dining room that had a huge tv screen covering one wall, but they turned it off at our request Service was very slow and, by then, our expectations were low. We were pleasantly surprised when we received our appetizers. The jalapeno grilled shrimp were truly outstanding. The entrees were also very good and the desserts good but average.Service was friendly and helpful but slow. Good food, but the atmosphere is definitely sports bar. Nor sure if they want to be a fine restaurant or just a sports bar with good food!"

"I visited this restaurant for lunch. Upon arrival, the hostess was seated at the bar socializing and took a few minutes to acknowledge me. I was the only customer dining at this time. The waitress was polite and cheerful, and kept good pacing throughout the meal. I ordered the roasted poblano corn soup and the Chipotle burger. Both the appetizer and the burger were good."

"We went to Fore for their Restaurant week brunch. The everyday brunch menu looked yummy too. The service was great. We made reservation (yes even for brunch!) and as a result they had set up a cute little table for two in the cafe on the patio. Really nice. The Bloody Mary bar was awesome and a good pour. I had the pibil and my DH had the fried chicken. Both were very good, but we will be back for the chicken!Fun spot to find. Everyone seemed to be working hard for their business. We will be back to try more goodies."

"We went to Fore for brunh during restaurant week. They had very good specialty options for the week and it included a Bloody Mary. The wait staff was very accommodating when our group of 10 became 5. Our server was great and the food was delicious. Worth the trip."

"The ambience of Fore left something to be desired - it was as if it didn't know whether it wanted to be a fancy, romantic restaurant, a lounge or a sports bar. HOWEVER the service was great and the food was PHENOMENAL. We LOVED every dish we tried - it is right on par with Hudson's on the Bend, at a much more affordable price point. Food-wise Fore has become our favorite Austin-area restaurant!"

"Surprisingly excellent experience overall. It was Good Friday, but the birthday of a member of the party. The restaurant has three distinct areas, which seems to work well. We were in the quieter, more formal, section, and were the only party in it (Good Friday early). The baby ribs were outstanding, the steaks were very good, and the rest of the food outstanding, and not over priced. We cannot comment on the other two sections, except to say that they use the same menu, were more lively and casual, and attracted a large crowd, even on Good Friday. We highly recommend Fore to others."

"Nice improvement going on here. Visited shortly after they opened and it was so-so - didn't go back not for any negative reason but it did not standout. So I was quite impressed with the new menu (and chef) and now am very much looking forward to returning. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the area."

"The food was very, very good. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The happy hour drinks were well priced, but the margaritas were weak in liquor to match the savings, and our server was very slow to refill our drinks. The open air lounge was a nice departure from the normal dining ambiance, it's just too bad you end up looking out at parked cars. The chairs were very uncomfortable and the staff finally brought out pillows only at the end of our meal. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience! Just don't understand why they don't replace the chairs!"

"They were great: great food, decor, LOVE the dining room. They accommodated all ten of us in the dining room right after a big party had left. The young lady serving us could have used a little bit more polish on her serving but she was smiling the whole time & never lost it. All ten of us loved our food & I would go back!"

"Our group of three very much enjoyed the pork tenderloin and brick chicken. The creme brulee was the best ever but the chocolate cake was dry. We winter here in Lakeway and brought a guest with us. All agreed that food was super, except for the chocolate cake. This was our second dinner in two years. Both very good experiences. Plan to come back for a light supper of an appetizer and salad some night while we are still here. A real neighborhood gem for Lakeway. Keep working on the balance of meeting the expectations of the bar crowd and the variety of diners you see who may want a quieter experience."

"Went for Valentine's day. I like the fact that they had the option of their specials, but also had a full menu available as well. The wild mushroom soup was stellar - very rich and fresh, with a crispy Boudin wonton floating in it. I had the surf and turf, and while the shrimp was a little heavy on the garlic for my taste, the medallions were done just right, lightly seasoned and fork tender.
We split the espresso cake for dessert. The mousse was light and rich at the same time, although the cake itself was a touch dry. For value, however, this place is great."

"We came to this restaurant to try Rob Snow's new menu we were customers at his last restaurant and were disappointed when he was no longer at the Mansion as it was on of our regulars. We made the 40 minute drive out to Lakeway to try his new menu hoping that it would be just as good as what we experienced downtown. I had the andouille crusted redfish which was cooked to perfection. My husband tried several of the appetizers including a delicious bacon wrapped shrimp in a apricot glacé. We were amazed at he menu and the place, it was lively and full of people a definite hot spot. The server was also very friendly and obviously excited about the new menu and the new chef. It was definitely worth the drive out to Lakeway."

"Can't recommend because my friend sent her steak back 3 times, the chef came out and was like "oh well" I'll try better next time. This place is too expensive to take an oh well approach."
