"After being told we could not get a reservation at the time we wanted, the restaurant was far from full the entire 2 1/2 hours we were there. The reason we were there so long was because the service was painfully slow. Food was good but far from other restaurants in the city. Also, it was so loud that you had to turn your head in the direction or whomever was speaking to hear them. Not a good experience."

"We ate here last month - ambiance lacked energy. Ordered a salad with dried tomato which I don't care for, and asked the waiter if they could use fresh. He said it should be fine. He then came back and said they could, but it would be an additional $3 charge (he felt bad, and I know he didn't want to have to ask). Asking in front of the table is less than classy and created an awkward moment all around. Given we ordered numerous cocktails/wine, apps and salads/soup, dessert and 4 steaks, they probably could have accommodated the tomato at no charge! That said, our waiter was great and knowledgeable. My mignon was great, two other guests at my table agreed the rib eye was no better than what they had grilled themselves the weekend before."

"I took my wife to Mooo... for our 2nd anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. While a little pricey, the service and food made for a memorable experience. I even made a little note when booking my reservation through OT that it was our anniversary and if they had a more romantic seating area it would be great if we could occupy it. Not only did they give us a private area, but they also surprised us with a candle lit dessert with 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate. A small gesture that went a really long way."

"I have been to this restaurant twice now on different days and times and the food and service was excellent, however the restaurant was nearly empty aside from 2-3 other occupied tables... this makes for a slightly dreary atmosphere. We have to get the word out about this place for dinner so that it fills up! I have been to Mistral, another restaurant in the same group over 10 times, and it is always packed for dinner, as was Sorrellina, so I am not sure if it is a question of location?"

"The restaurant had a great wait staff and we were always taken care of in a timely fashion. If you don't like someone waiting on you hand and foot then this is not the place for you! The bread that was given before the meal was delicious and I probably could've eaten 3 pans full! Overall, I would eat here again for another special occasion."

"This was my second time at Mooo and it did not disappoint. My husband and I had been trying to get up there for our anniversary since March, but due to snow, then the tragic terror attack we had to keep rescheduling. Finally, 3rd time was a charm. We had a nice table, and even though I hadn't let them know ahead of time it was our anniversary, just when we got there. At the end of the meal it was they served us a nice sorbet and a Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate the bowl was on, really nice. We will go back."

"Perhaps we were there on an unusual evening. But it was really so noisy that, at our table for three, which the waiter said was the quietest table in the place, we had to shout to each other to be heard.
Our group might have been the oldest, in age, in the place and maybe older people dislike noise more than younger people. All else was great and people in te restaurant seemed to be enjoying themselves. But we were happy to pay our bill and leave."

"My wife, son (14 yrs old) and I chose Mooo for a post-race dinner/celebration following the 2013 Boston Marathon.
We were seated at our table immediately upon arrival. I thought the hostess was rather cold in her greeting - kinda' felt like we were doing her a favour by coming to dinner in her restaurant. Despite the bad start the rest of the service was excellent. The waiter was friendly and provided good advice on menu selections.

The sides included both the standard creamed spinach and onion rings and also some more interesting dishes such as the tater tot style potatoes and all were also done well. "I ate here for restaurant week and had a great sirloin steak and oyster soup. The steak could have used some condiments to accompany it. I also had a pineapple cake for dessert which I felt could have used some syrup over it to make it more moist. The atmosphere was nice and its located below a hotel. I would recommend for foodies or those who like to try new places..The service was excellent.."

"We went to Mooo for Restaurant Week with high hopes since it had received such a high Zagat rating (26/30). However, we were quite disappointed. The steak tartare was very small. The meat itself was not chopped well enough so that it left a chunky and chewy texture and it was not very well seasoned and left much to be desired. Steamed mussels: the soup was flavorful (a touch salty), great homemade croutons, but the mussels were overcooked. NY strips were overcooked to medium (we asked for rare and med-rare). Truffle fries were delicious. Both desserts were enjoyable."

"We've dined at Mooo a bunch of times for dinner but decided to try it for brunch on Easter Sunday. Great decision on our part. The brunch was their regular brunch menu, but everything was spectacular. I had the prime beef hash, which was awesome and my wife had the egg white fritatta (also excellent). They bring a lot of food to the table (e.g. extra bread, home fries, etc.) so unless you are starving, don't order more than one dish per person. We made the mistake of ordering a parfait and fruit for one prior to the arrival of our other guests and after eating those, we were pretty full.

"The food was good here, but not exceptional. Went for restaurant and found the thing I enjoyed most was the mussel appetizer; it was the best thing by far. Service was good and cordial, but nothing to write home about. Overall, good restaurant, but at this price point I would not go there without the deal of restaurant week."

"Mooo Restaurant Week menu was great. Simple and elegant, something for everybody.
The good: Steak Frites... the steak was great medium rare, or even medium (I was testing the kitchen). The fries were hot and garlicky and truffley and parma-cheesy. Almost nothing better for a Thursday lunch.
The blemish were with the Beef Tartar starter as it was pure meat and no taste and no flavour (I had my beef tartar at Bourdain's midtown restaurant before and it was good). Also, the desserts were just alright, chocolate cake was too much chocolate with no flour, and pineapple upside down cake tasted like quick cake mix + 2 eggs in greased pan."

"service was a bit slow and it was hard to get attention but it was a weekday lunch, so more easily forgiven. I like the food-bread was indeed great, and so was the steak, though not spectacular-I'd say. Dessert was also okay but not mind blowing. There was also a sign asking ppl to enter sideways for RW meals, which this was. Satisfying overall"

"We were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our 30th wedding aniversary and went online to best restaurants in Boston. Mooo was listed as one so we gave it a try. We were very pleased. The restaurant is very well laid out, not too crowded, our server was excellent and the food was fabulous. We both had a filet mignon and I added the jumbo shrimp to mine and took half home. The escargot to start was very tasty. It was nice to be able to pick either a large or small portion of potatoes to accompany the meal. It is expensive but very worth it."

"Went during Restaurant Week for lunch. Lovely high end neutral decor - lots of marble and hard finishes which unfortunately make conversation difficult. Two of us had the same dishes: Caesar Salad (warm, soggy croutons, flavorless dressing); Sirloin steak done medium (one was perfectly cooked, mine was dry - more medium well). Desserts were small but tasty. Service started out very friendly and attentive but as the room filled, we felt a little ignored, even when looking for the check. All in all, I was glad we went but there are better steak houses in Boston so we will not go again!"
