We are an "a la carte" restaurant providing a relaxed and inviting atmosphere in a beautifully restored, Southern colonial style estate that enjoys breathtaking Hudson River views.
Guests can select from our signature cocktail menu of prohibition era and "farm to glass" drinks and dine on everything from light appetizers to the full Hudson farm to table menu - complete with expert wine pairings from our sommelier.

"Hudson at Haymount House is a beautiful restaurant with a one-of-a-kind view of the Hudson from high atop Briarcliff. We chose to dine here to celebrate our first Mother's Day as a family for several reasons - the farm-to-table menu, the view an what we hoped would be a pleasant, non-hectic environment, and it did not disappoint in those areas. The food was ample, tasty and well presented.
If I could give some unsolicited advice to the management, I would let them know that the staff needs a bit more training. Additionally, at $55 per person (prix fixe menu) , it would have been nice to have one drink included in the price.
We will return as we hope for lovely dining at this restaurant for years to come."

"We were at Haymount last Mother's Day and returned this year. We remembered the somewhat quiet atmosphere, good food and a great talk with the owner. We returned to find larger portions of delicious food (new chef), still some great conversation with the owner (love the personal touch) but large groups of 20 somethings at two tables making so much noise that it took away from the experience. That said, it may have just been our luck to be there while these two groups were there. We won't let this experience stop us from going again."

"Sweeping Views of the Hudson, Beautiful Architecture, Comfortable, yet sophisticated. A rare find in Westchester, you'll feel as though you are on vacation,. We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled into the front circle, I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions. The menu was a nice mix with foods that will satisfy many pallets. And the emphasis on organic and health corresponds with the way many of us want to eat today...............it was a very enjoyable lunch!"

"Three generations of our family reserved a table for brunch on Mother's Day. We arrived promptly, but were not seated because the printer was malfunctioning and the menus were not ready. Instead of making us comfortable at our table, we were asked to stand in the hall and wait. A couple of members of our party were senior citizens who became uncomfortable standing in the hall. A few minutes later, we were advised that there was not water/plumbing working in the building. Both problems were resolved. The appetizer and main course were above average, but the desserts (creme brulee & chocolate cake) was disappointing. The food was definitely not worth the price charged. The service was friendly, but poor. They were confused and forgetful."

"It can be difficult to find but with proper directions when you get there you realize you found a hidden gem. This place is old school in that everything is chosen for special reasons including the food, service and atmosphere. As a regular dining place on your favorite list or a special occasion like a wedding, birthday, group family dinner this place would fit the bill. The building is an old mansion that has been updated and the views of the Hudson specially at sunset are rare sights of joy. The food selection is fitting for this type of place and the quality of the food was exellent. Managment makes sure that the service is memorable. The liquor and other alcoholic beverage selection and preparation left nothing to be desired."

"We dined here on a busy Saturday night. VERY noisy dining room. Service was poor. Waited a very long time for our 1st cocktail, than a very long time to place our order. The Floor Manager, noticing that we still had menus, ended up taking our order. Food was quite good and different once it arrived. This venue really needs to work on their service issues. It is a very beautiful place, and the kitchen produces a fine product, but the lack of experience in their serving staff is a definite drawback and at this point prevents me from recommending this place.. Everyone was very pleasant, just clueless! I hope the recently hired Floor Manager is able to whip the staff into shape. I would love to see the Haymount House be a success."

"My husband and I had our anniversary dinner at Hudson at Haymount House. It was very romantic and the food was incredible. The staff was very attentive and the owner came over to see if our meal was good. Very happy here and would come again for brunch, especially if we could eat outside. The view was incredible!"

"I have eaten here several times and have always had quite good experiences, although service sometimes lagged behind the wonderful food and decor. On this visit I met the new floor Manager. apparently brought in to correct the past service flaws. It seems to be working well. Service was prompt and organized and my waiter very pleasant and knowledgable.
I found the food to be even better than ever. There is a new Chef, who they told me was the opening Chef for 5 years at the "Red Hat on the River" in Irvington. The new spring menu is vibrant and tasty and the prices more reasonable.
If you were discouraged by the past service issues, I recommend that you give the place another try. We need a restaurant of this quality in the area."

"Bar was very nice,friendly,unusual lighting that served as a discussion focus.Seated in a timely manner, unusual dining area in that it seemed to be a banquet area that was sparsley set with tables.Service can be described as non-existent. We were ignored by many of the waitstaff including a man in a suit who we believed was the dining room manager. Finally had our water glasses filled. Then lots of looks from the staff but no one came to our table. Waited 20 additional minutes, finished the water and walked out. On the way out the hostess, who was in an alcove texting on her phone, said "hope you enjoyed your meal, have a good evening"!!!No one cared despite the fact that the manager/owner seemed to be present."

"They are working to correct the poor service quality. Tey have hired a new restaurant manager who takes service seriously, and believes he will get things vastly improved in the month of May. His name is Patrick O'Sullivan ask for him when you arrive and he'll take care of you."

"Where to begin. While the ambiance was spectacular and the food pretty good, the service was abysmal. 3 people asked us if we want water and it took a 1/2 hour to get that and bread. The waiter was totally disinterested, everyone was running around without purpose, busboys brought out food and stood counting tables while it got cold and went back to the kitchen. 3 times, plates or glasses were broken in the dining room. It took an hr and 40 minutes to get our entrees. The new manager told us to give him time to straighten things out since he was a recent hire, but even he had no idea what flavors of ice cream they had. One owner was in a suit and the other was in jeans with his shirt hanging out on a Saturday night. We'd never go back"

"We had a fabulous dinner this past weekend. We walked in to a spacious, modern yet inviting dining room with gorgeous views of the Hudson. The atmosphere is very special without being the least bit stuffy. Everyone we met - from the server to the delightul manager to the owner - were spectacularly welcoming and offered the best service. And then the food - we each ordered something different and it was all delicious. Their menu is creative and of course seasonally appropriate. We can't wait to come back this summer to sit outside and truly take in the views. This is our new favorite spot for celebrations in all of Westchester!"

"The food wasn't bad but the service was quite poor and the room was extremely noisy. Management came to the table three times to apologize, with good intentions but underscoring the sense of chaos and crisis. My OpenTable indication that this as a birthday dinner was acknowledged when we checked in with the receptionist but completely forgotten/ignored thereafter. Drinks were served promptly but we waited for a VERY long time for both appetizers and the main course. An unfortunate evening, especially considering the cost."

"The Srevice was poor, we had to ask for water, more bread and then ask for butter after the bread was served. The foor was poorly prepared, the salmon was not cooked. the duck was tough. The food was so bad, until the restaurant took the salmon and one of the duck dishes off the bill. We were a table of four people."

"We found the place to be very nice, food excellent. Wine list very good. We had read previous reviews complaining about service. The owner was kind enough to come around and intoduce himself and he was also concerned about the reviews on service quality. We shared some constructive thoughts that we would improve upon, including having a focus on one waiter instead of several that attend to a table. He thanked us for our suggestion and sounded sincere in his plan to improve. Other than that, the food was outstanding, the best we've had in Westchester or Rockland in a long time. You will not be disappointed!"

"The food and the setting were superb but we found the service just fair and the noise overwhelming. Our waiter was unable to describe the starter I was interested and remained vague at best even after "consulting with the chef". The music was too loud for us. We still had a great time and will try it for lunch soon. I would recommend Hudson but would warn about the service and the noise."

"We've had several delicious meals at this restaurant over the past few months - dinners, restaurant week, bar food. In the past the service has sometimes suffered. However I am happy to report that this problem is being fixed with a new manager who is making sure all goes well. Now the service matches the quality of the food. It's a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and a relaxed crowd. Looking forward to becoming a frequent diner. Music on Thursday nights just adds to the draw."

"We went for Restaurant Week, and were not disappointed. This was our first time there. We were treated like royalty when we arrived and seated promptly. The staff were very friendly and courteous, our wait staff very attentive, cheerful and helpful. The food was delicious. I had the cauliflower bisque, duck confit and mousse semi-freddo. It was all scrumptious - the bisque creamy and tasty, the duck fell off the bone, the dessert melted in my mouth. My spouse had the lobster risotto, which was almost a meal in itself, the monkfish and apple tart dessert. We were both very pleased with the food, and will plan on returning soon."

"The food is so fresh and tasty - it is farm to table with interesting sauces: the creamy polenta is to die for; and where can you find foie gras anywhere these days?; finally, when I couldn't pick between desserts, they all got sent to me. The food is also quite cutting edge - when is the last time you had an poached pear accompanied with a blue-cheese creamy sauce? Wonderful combination. The owner talks to everyone and makes sure everyone is happy. He is so gracious and seems to be on top of everything. The place is very nicely decorated: they returned it to its original grandeur. They have a beautiful bar where people like to hang around; and musicians on Thursdays. I can't wait to go back!"

"Gorgeous view, beautiful room, management eager to please. We had the Restaurant Week prix fixe, which was reasonably priced. The cauliflower soup was excellent, lobster risotto yummy. But the duck was just ok, not nearly as good as the duck dish on the regular menu. The glaze on it was sweet but had no complexity, and the skin wasn't crispy. The milk chocolate semi-freddo could've would've been better with dark chocolate, and when it was served, no one asked if we wanted coffee or tea with it. They are trying hard to please, and given time, I hope I can up my rating to 4 stars, because there are no restaurants of this caliber in the area."

"I loved it. A really imaginative menu. I found it hard to choose my entrée, as I wanted to try everything. The food was delicious, well priced and the service was right on point. The food was served right on time. Our server was excellent. Really good bread and the wine by the glass list had some really nice choices at a fair price.
The music on Thursdays is top notch. This is becoming one of Westchester's best music venues."

"We dined at Haymount House (during Restaurant Week) because it was a landmark birthday for my husband. It is a beautiful restaurant and we like it and hope it is wildly successful.
The food was good, though I admit I was hoping for outstanding. The portions were just right (not enormous) which I appreciated.
The wait staff are very good. The hostess was awful. I had asked ahead of time for a table near the windows for the view but we were given a table in the middle of the walkway used by the wait staff. This is a small issue, but it was disappointing for a dinner where I had expressly asked for something a little special for the birthday.
Haymount House is a lovely place with engaged new owners. Give it a try!"

"This was our first time at Haymount. We invited two other couples to join us. We had a drink at the bar before being seated. It's a comfortable and friendly bar. The food was excellent, especially the lobster risotto, and well presented. The service was great and the staff were helpful in recommending wines. There were too few diners to fill such a large space. The room is lovely with great views and outside dining in the nice weather would be lovely. One of the owners stopped by our table to see how we enjoyed our meal which was an appreciated personal touch. We will definitely go back again soon."

"They have no idea of how to run a restaurant. I have no idea how the food is: we waited over an hour and no one spoke to us, even to offer us drinks. [The busboy did keep bringing bread and filling our water glasses, though] When we couldn't get anyone's attention, we left. the only one who asked about our experience was the valet. We will NEVER go back!"

"The food was delicious. My dinner portion was significantly smaller than my husband's- it was rather strange, and a little disappointing. The waiter took our order and brought us our wine- other than that it was the rest of the service staff that took care of us the entire time we were there. They were excellent, very friendly and prompt.
We waited almost 30 minutes to get our check, which really made the evening end on a sour note. After asking the waiter for it, we watched him go around from one table to another, stopping by to chit chat at the hostess stand for a few... We eventually had to ask someone else for it. Will likely not return."

"It is Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and we chose to visit Haymount because it was close to home and it looked like a great prix fixe menu for HVRW. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely and we can't wait to go back. Any restaurant where the owner takes time out of his night to come over and greet your table as well as see how you are enjoying yourself is a HUGE do over in our book! Thanks for a great evening!"

"The service here has much to be desired. Waited 10 minutes for menus, then 15 minutes to place a drink order, and then 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Once we ordered, the timing of the courses was all off with the worst offense being a starter we ordered arriving after the entree. Amateurish."
