"I've been to Tony's located on 43rd St plenty of times so I'm familiar with the family-style dinning and with the menu. Tony's on the UES has all that I love about the restaurant plus more! Unlike the 43rd St location, UES offers half and full size portions. The half size is perfect for 2 people and left room in our pockets and tummy for dessert. Btw... Their Tiramisu was the best I've ever had!"

"Been to Tony's Di Napoli a number of times, and have not been disappointed. One issue, however -- it is odd they do not have soup on the menu, at any time. It can tend to be noisy, depending on where you sit and the day of the week. This last time we sat in the large dining room, and the hum was definitely moderate."

"This restaurant was recommended by my cousin as kid-friendly, family sized meals at reasonable prices and really good food. She was right on all counts. Would definitely come here again the next time we're in the city. The bread is phenomenal! I could've just eaten that dipped in the delicious red sauce."

"French doors were open Which allowed a nice spring breeze to flow thought the dining room, but also the midtown traffic noise. Wine list is not great but plenty of simple choices. Lunch specials were flavorful (arugula salad, fresh prosciutto and mozzarella baked over chix breast). I'll go back."

"Lively atmosphere, prompt, efficient service. Extensive menu and for Europeans like me enjoyed the novelty of sharing food, as stated on the menu portions were huge and designed for sharing. A good New York experience!"

"Meatballs like hockey pucks. Eggplant was all seeds. Food sat on the serving tray - we finally reached over and took the platters. Kids liked this restaurant. Veal francese and chicken park were good."

"I am a frequent customer of this restaurant and have a wonderful experience each and every time I visit. The food is always fantastic, and there is something for everyone. Although it is family-style, the UES location offers "half" portions which are very accommodating for very small parties (such as a party of 2 or 3) trying to satisfy different appetites or cravings. The service is always impeccable - friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the selections. The restaurant also offers a warm atmosphere that tops off the experience. This is one of my favorite places to dine and recommend it highly!"

"This place is one of our favorites. The food is good and they give you plenty of it! In addition to the family style style dining they are well known for they have added half orders which is great for trying different dishes. As long as Tonys is around we will be there great place!"

"Although my wife and I enjoy dining upstairs as it is quieter than below but we find the service a little erratic and there is a "wind" problem when the door into the restaurant is opened at the same time as the door leading into the upstairs room, which is quite often."

"Love this place! Food is fabulous. Love the fact that you can have full or half plates, and ALWAYS have enough to take home. Service is warm and genuine........ Appreciate Tony and Jesse coming around asking if everything is going well. Come here often and often celebrate special events with family/friends... Love it's new location ..........."

"Really superb family-style Italian cuisine; everything was excellent, from the lovely arugula salad to the great ravioli Bolognese to the chef's terrific veal. And fantastic tiramisu for dessert. Highly recommended for comfort food ... service was first-rate. We'll certainly be back, as it's right in our neighborhood."

"We've been going to the Times Square location for years and tried the UES location for lunch. We were happy to find that the food was just as good as the midtown location. The UES place was much bigger and so the tables were more spread out, making it quieter and easier to hear each other speak. The wine was also very good and didn't break the bank."

"Very poor service by our waitier Mario. He never told us his name personally, or even a "Hello and welcome!" and a "Goodbye! Thanks for stopping by!". We know his name because it was on the bill.
We had a question about the menu for Mario. He answered it, walked away for some odd reason, and didnt come back for 5 minutes. He spilled a drink on my leg and shoes. He never apologized. Threw the bill on the table when he brought it the first time and after we had asked for change. When we spoke to the manager at the end, his tone was "You should of let me know before". I didn't know there was a statute of limitations on complaining about poor service. Offered his business card which made us feel so much better (little hint of sarcasm)"

"We had great service and delicious food. The half portions were enough for the two of us. We ordered one pasta dish and one chicken dish with a vegetable side. The ice cream sundae dessert is enough for 4 people. Yummy!!"

"This is an incredible restaurant. The food was great! Such huge portions. We had the spaghetti with marinara and the chicken parmesan, both the full portions, and it was huge. It may have been enough for four people. Next time we will order half portions for each. The sangria was also very good. The waiter we had was also great! He was very attentive! Definitely will be returning to this restaurant."

"The food was delicious, huge portions and we had a lot of fun. Here's the rub: our waiter was over it. Over us, over having to work that night, just over it... He actually rolled his eyes at us when we asked him to repeat the specials becuase he mumbled through them. He then told us to listen better! yup. We remember his name, but we're not looking to get him fired. We were a really friendly table, and the only reason he started being nicer to us, is becuase he found out we had an interest in his "true" profession and that he was no longer serving a bunch of powerless idiots, that he pre-judged us to be. Thanks, but no thanks. Otherwise, the food was good- but message to the staff- if you don't want to wait tables- don't."

"I have eaten at Tony Di Napoli's several times when it was on 2nd Avenue and loved it. This was my first time at the 3rd Ave location and it was totally disappointing. It took about 15 minutes after being seated before a waiter even came over to our table to get our drink order. After we received our drinks, we had to wait another 10 minutes before the waiter came back to take our food order. The baked clams appetizer came out very quick, but was horrible. They were mushy and tasted fishy. We shared the veal piccata and Rigatoni with vodka and mushrooms. The veal was very tender and had a nice flavor, however the coating on it was also mushy. The Rigatoni lacked flavor all together. We will not be going back here ever again."

"good, solid italian food. lucky we got a table toward front for group of 4 so weren't mixed in with large parties. always plenty of food. UES locations serves half portion so were able to have more entries to pass around."

"Tony Di Napoli's is a traditional Italian restaurant, most dishes are served family style. The food was good however some of the pasta dishes that came out were not hot or warm enough. The booth I sat down in had an opened individual butter laying on the seat. I went here on Valentine's Day with a friend and had a good time, but I would not recommend this place for a romantic date. The tablecloths are picnic styled and the atmosphere is a bit cheesy in my opinion for a date. If you're going with a group of people though, it's a great way to try all the dishes offered."

"Tony's was terrific as usual, and somehow they ALWAYS find the best servers. We were there celebrating my dad's 81st birthday and Caitlin (it may have been spelled with a 'K') treated him like a king. There was one flaw - the busboys began removing the dessert plates before we were done and were practically pushing us out the door. I understand that Saturdays at Tony's are packed but another 5 minutes would have given our experience 5 stars."

"Hostess was impolite and wait staff although friendly kept hovering over our plates trying to remove them before we were finished sharing the meal. Although food seemed fresh it lacked flavor, I'd rather go to Nicks on 94 th st or Carmines"
