Bistro Sixty is an evolution that started with San Diego Desserts wholesale bakery in 1999, providing desserts to local restaurants, hotels and other venues. We've evolved to a full bistro and wine bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. We have an enclosed heated patio with live music 4 nights a week. And of course, we still have amazing desserts.
"A favorite spot for locals we go here often for dinner. The food is very good, my wife loves the planko chicken Diane. I vary my meal on each visit and have not been disappointed. I am not a wine enthusiast but there is a large selection of wines to choose from and when I have had a glass there I enjoy it. The owner is great person who runs a nice establishment. Give it a try."

"My salmon salad was composed of lightly dressed lettuce, yellow beets and blueberries topped with a grilled wild salmon filet. It was so delicious and plentiful that I brought about half home and mixed it into a salad for two. The other three diners had equally enthusiastic reports about their own salads, one curried chicken and two grilled chicken. We shared two small pistachio cakes for dessert, with a coffee and a lovely caramel cross-hatched latte, and left joyful. This is a chef and staff who make magic. Bistro sixty, what a winner!"

"We had an early dinner, so it was quiet but very nice. Wait staff was very attentive & pleasant. We dine here regularly and so we appreciate the menu & wine specials bistro sixty offers. The lamb sausage ragu was outstanding and very nicely paired with a Syrah that was new to the wine list. We highly recommend this restaurant."

"it is an absolute must that you try the braised pork cheeks over polenta--it is a show stopper. I was torn between that and the braised short ribs over linguine (but Nick, the server--who was great and attentive--said ask for it over penne instead--it is much better)--would also be great over the polenta--my wife had the bacon burger, with crispy bacon, the bacon jam and baconaise--it this is also a must try--very reasonable prices--the Brussels sprouts side dish was okay, they were a little to crisp and i would've preferred a bleu cheese crumble with the bacon instead of in bleu cheese dressing--they have amazing homemade desserts too--first time guests get one free i think"

"To be serenaded by Nathan Welden's accoustic guitar and soothing voice while enjoying a fabulous meal in a festive and friendly atmosphere was over the top. We've been to Bistro Sixty a few times now and and each time we enjoy the food and the vibe even more. This restuarant is a wonderful hip addition to the neighborhood."

"We ate breakfast at this restaurant. There was some construction noise because they are expanding. I would expect the noise level to be low for breakfast next time. The food was great and the owner is friendly."

"Bistro Sixty is a great place to have in our community. They have delicious entree choices as well as yummy appetizers. They have an extensive wine list and decadent desserts. The staff is very attentive and patient. I would say that the only possible downside is the parking situation since it's street parking only and, sometimes, you can't park nearby. I understand they are thinking about some kind of a shuttle service to address this issue and that could help to bring more people in, although the restaurant was quite busy even on a Thursday night. The live entertainment is great too!"

"We had never been there before. Food was great! Only concern was half of my friends salmon was very under cooked and there was no mention of it when clearing plates. Owner came over and was very friendly. They had a nice duet of music, but the sax was a little too loud. Ambiance could be a little nicer."

"A friendly, local, neighborhood upscale restaurant like this doesn't have all the resources to be outstanding in the way Thomas Keller's French Laundry can. But, it is so much better than Very Good. Service is always friendly and welcoming, and they always save us a special table when we reserve through Open Table. They added some new things on their April menu that are very appealing. The heirloom tomato salad was wonderful as was the Corvina Sea Bass. We plan another trip next week to try more new menu items."

"Cuisine ranging from adventurous to simple but always delicious in an attractive, unpretentious and welcoming setting whose tone reflects the warmth of the owner/chef and good spirits of his partner, an exciting wine list plus music ranging from blues to blue grass depending on the night -- oh, and great desserts -- Bistro Sixty is not just a find but a keeper!"

"We brought my father in law and his wife here for the first time. They usually dine in Downtown SD or even up in Rancho Santa Fe! I was a little worried they might be put off by the location...but the food and service was great and they really enjoyed it! We even booked a reservation for my father in law's 80 something birthday dinner! He is very picky about food (namely Salmon), wine, and service...so we were so glad he thoroughly enjoyed it!"

"Taco salads for lunch: no salsa, small serving of meat. Tasty but not close to being worth $11.
Blackened salmon salad: Tasty enough dish, but salmon way overcooked.
Service: Place nearly empty but it took 20 minutes to get food out. Server acted like he was a part owner, meaning lackadaisical and disinterested at waiting tables."

"We seem to be becoming regulars here although it's 20 miles from home. Food is always great and every time we go they have new specials in addition to their regular menu, so there's always something new to try and it is always delicious. This time they had a small plate of seared ahi & avocado tacos - very simply prepared and fabulous. And, their chili verde pork was very good. They save a special table for us when we reserve through Open Table and always give a warm greeting with just the right amount of attention during the meal."

"I look forward to going back and trying more of their dinner entre selections. The food was very good, cooked to perfection and great flavor. The deserts - San Diego Deserts are of course exquisite. I had the Calamari, Ginger Chili Glazed salmon with steamed brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes and the Chocolate Grand Marnier for desert. Delectable and delightful."

"We've been frequent diners here because it is a convenient and welcoming spot after for dinner after a weekly appointment nearby. The food is always great and we go home wishing we had eaten a little less or saved some for lunch tomorrow. On each visit we have had something different fro the menu - all were delicious and nicely plated. On every occasion, the chef-owner has stopped by the table for a brief visit (this may not happen during the busiest times, but we usually dine here after 8pm). We will continue to visit here regularly - it is a real gem."

"For us, dinner after 8pm is a late night, so we think this is a great "Find". Atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and quiet enough to talk with your guests rather than text. We had some outstanding Ahi tacos and a very good pesto penne pasta with chicken. And, their desserts are always fabulous. Service was friendly and attentive and the chef-owner stopped by the table to chat. This was our second visit and we enjoyed it just as much as our first."

"We dined at 8 after most of the dinner guests were gone, so the noise level was low and we received just the right amount of attention from the wait staff. Food was delicious and served very promptly. Nice choice of wines, most were above our price range. Dessert was fabulous. And to top it off the owner stopped by the table - he noticed we had an Open Table first time reservation and invited us back. We will be back."
