"As my husband says, "Washington Platform knows what it does well, and doesn't deviate from those excellent talents". We really enjoy the special events featuring crab in season, oysters in season, and yes, it does the most fabulous jazz brunch with carving board, and their wonderful bread pudding. We most recently went to oyster fest and I thoroughly enjoyed the gumbo with oysters. If I were looking for a comfortable bar to sit and have a drink with friends, it can fill that bill too. And if you're looking for holiday brunches, we've taken my mother for Mother's Day and it was just so lovely. I hope no one thinks it's kid friendly. I love children, but they couldn't appreciate this type of sophisticated food."

"This place was great!
Went for oyster fest and the oysters were fantastic! We had everything from a dozen oysters on the half shell, several appetizers and oyster entrees and everything was delicious!
Our family is from Cape Cod so we are used to having nothing but the freshest seafood and we were delighted by the freshness and preparation of the oysters.
We had the Platform Platter to share which gives you three different preparations of baked oysters ans each was very tasty!
I had the Oysters Aphrodite which the oysters are in a creole Tomato Sauce. I was worried that the sauce would overpower the oysters, but it complimented them very well and the taste of the oysters were still the focal point!

"This was our first time to Washington Platform and we LOVED it. We went for Oyster Fest and the selection was above and beyond our expectations for Cincinnati, OH!! We would expect this type of selection in Florida but were pleasantly surprised to find such a great selection of oyster dishes in the Queen City. Absolutely delicious!! We highly recommend. Our waitress was very attentive and our whole experience was positive. We will return to Washington Platform very soon to try other entree's."

"Went for Oysterfest. The bad part: There were pieces of shell in almost every oyster on the half-shell, which was pretty annoying. The waiter was slow with the drinks, forgot parts of the order and couldn't seem to remember who ordered what. The good part: We had an extra person in our party and this didn't pose a problem, a new table was quickly setup to accommodate us. The steak & scallops were very good and cooked properly."

"the brunch was great. we had problems getting seated even though we had a reservation. That was a little disappointing. We ended up sitting in the bar area instead of the dining area, which was fine except that we did not have a server. Since we were in a high traffic area, we were able to grab people as they went by, but did not have a server for our table. that was disappointing, but overall a good experience. Food was great."

"First time at this local landmark and will go back but was a little disappointed with the service. Granted they were very busy and our server was very nice but it was really pretty slow. Went there with 5 people, none of us had ever been there. Saw good reviews and was looking for someplace new to try downtown. Saw they were having their annual Oyster Festival and that did it. Love Oysters. They have a couple of dozen different styles - hot, cold, raw...etc. The dozen raw on the half-shell were VERY good. Had the service been better I probably would have ordered more. The reviews from the rest of our party were solid but not everyone was an Oyster fanatic. Bottom line, I am willing to try them again. Maybe for lunch next time..."

"I chose to go to Washington Platform because it is close to music hall and I thought it would make a good pre-concert dinner spot, and it was. Not knowing how busy it would be, I made reservations for 6:15, and was seated immediately (6:30 was not available, and I worried that 6:45 would be too late due to other reviews on this site and Yelp.) My server was attentive and answered all of my questions. I had the crab cakes, which were delicious, and Cajun grilled grouper, which was appropriately spicy. After taking my time to finish a glass of wine and strolling to Music Hall I arrived at 7:20, more than early for an 8:00 concert. At the concert I recognized other diners from the restaurant, so I wasn't alone in my plans."

"First time to this restaurant for us and it won't be the last. The menu has a dozen items I would like to try! The Oyster Festival menu added unique choices to an already solid menu. Food was great. Service a little scattered but except able. We made a reservation but ended up in the bar because "that was the only table they had at that moment". It worked out fine but would have preferred for the restaurant to plan better for our arrival. All in all a very satisfying experience. We will be back again soon!"

"Six of us went to Washington Platform after the recent Cincinnati Ballet performance of "The Prodigal Son." It was a celebratory affair acknowledging to the cast member present that her performance was absolutely awesome. We had an excellent Rodney Strong Sauvignon Blanc and a number of appetizers ranging from Oysters on the half shell (the restaurant is celebrating its annual oyster festival) to onion straws, mesquite shrimp and other excellent dishes. Service was excellent and friendly."

"Oyster bar was fantastic!! I don't eat them, but my boyfriend is from Connecticut, and he LOVED them! Also, we sat right next to the raw bar and couldn't smell them - that's when you know they're fresh! Great find!!"

"Server seemed like he was new and somewhat skiddish. I did like the fact that everytime he refilled my water, he brought another lemon wedge...it's the little things. The Blue Crab Bleu portion size went down, but the price didn't. The breading on the oyters was a little soggy and falling off."

"Not good if you need to be someplace at a certain time. 3x we booked reservations 2hrs in advance and had just a 5inute walk to our concert and every time we barely make it even though each time we tell the server when we need to be out. This Time when I booked online I even added the note about being finished by 7:30 in the requests. I also called to double check on the reservation.The gentleman I spoke to was great! He received the reservation by the time I had called and even caught my footnote on time. I asked if we were early enough or if we should make 5:30 reservations and he said we would be MORE than fine.No such luck!!!"

"My food (Blue Crab Bleu) was not something I enjoyed. I did not think it had much flavor in regards to the creole spice or the bleu cheese. I did enjoy the chocolate mousse cake and the oysters on the half shell. The 4 people I was with all enjoyed their meals (fish tacos, chicken carbonara, Cajun grilled snapper, seafood sampler, potato leek soup.) The atmosphere is suitable for casual or formal occasions. Friendly, helpful service."

"With our Open Table reservation we were able to walk right in and be seated, somewhat to the chagrin of some patrons in a line that extended outside into chilly Winter night air. The menu specializes in fish and seafood. Among our party we had a mix of clams, oysters, salmon, and sea bass. All were excellently prepared and well plated. My wife who grew up on what was the Atlantic coast before Hurricane Sandy wouldn't tolerate returning to WP were the seafood anything but excellent. We much prefer WP to the chain seafood restaurant on the square. And, the desserts are super. The Faux Frenchmen entertainment was good, but a bit too loud for engaging conversation among our dinner party. We'll be returning soon."

"This was the second year we attended the Bockfest Sunday Brunch. We and the kids enjoyed the music of the Cincinnati Dancing Pigs and the subterranean tour of the catacombs. What little service was necessary at a buffet was excellent - friendly and not overbearing. We will surely be back to dine before next year's Bockfest.
This three-hour event must present booking problems for the enterprise because the customers are not inclined to leave until the wonderful food is gone and the band stops playing."

"We picked Washington Platform on the basis of its description on Open Table. It turned out to be a very good choice. We spend a lot of time in New Orleans, where we thoroughly enjoy the cajun and creole cuisine. I seldom eat blackened dishes in Cincinnati, because no one seems to know what they are trying to cook. Washington Platform does a great blackened redfish. Fresh oysters are hard to find treat in Cincinnati. Washington Platform has them. My wife had the B&B meatloaf, another W-P specialty. It, too, was very good. We recommend W-P and we'll be going back. You have a choice of tables in the barroom or in a much quiter dining room. If noise is a problem, pick the dining room. On Saturday night, there is quite a din in the bar."

"While we had a very nice server, (this was her first night,) the restaurant seemed unprepared for the busy evening. There was an almost sold out CSO concert at Music Hall, and many of us eat there as it's close. Again, our server was good, but food took forever to come out of the kitchen and each server was running to take care of way too many tables."

"I had never been here but always wanted to try for my "husbands" sake since they are known for Oysters(hard to come by in the mid-west!)and my husband is a fan. I saw their special Valentines Day package and it was very reasonable. They worked with our group to accomodate my tardiness(I was an "hr" late). The staff was very friendly and helped us get the carriage ride in the package even with the delay. The server was pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent except 1) they were out of one of the dinner options(there were maybe 5 to select from)and 2)they should have put a descript. on one of the items(2 had a pasta dish that was WAY too spicy for us to eat). We made a resv. for their next "special pkg" before we left!"

"I had the herb baked snapper, and my friend had the salmon salad. Both were excellent dishes. It was quite a treat to have free live jazz on Friday night when we went. The server was absolutely amazing, so attentive and friendly. It really showed in her job that she loved what she was doing. She truly went above and beyond. I would definitely come back. The Amazon Local/Living Social deal definitely was a huge plus as well!"

"We waited 12 mins for a server. While giving specials, she abruptly walked away. We sat there confused. She came back & finished what she was saying. We waited 15 mins for her to bring rolls & soup my husband ordered. We asked several times for refills. My husband's steak was ordered medium rare, but came very rare. We flagged her down to be put back on the grill. She came back a with a new steak. She said she accidentally put our order in 2x, so there was a new steak all ready. She thought it was funny. We didn't find incompetence funny. We paid and should of had $15 change. We got $5. We flagged down a server to get her. She came back & said she had $10 in her hand the whole time & forgot to give it to us. Seriously? Will not go again."
