"We found Avellino online as we were coming from out of town. Reservation was ready when we arrived, our guests from CT were late, but the staff was very understanding. Ordered the calamari, fried green beans and artichoke dip for appetizers. They were all very good, especially the crispy green beans. The calamari was a little confusing as it appeared to be more of a soup than appetizer. Entrees were tremendous. 2 of us had grilled salmon over lemon risotto with tomatoes and greens and it was one of the best restaurant meals I have ever eaten. The gnocchis, pollo saltimbocca, chicken parmigiana, and raviolis were all plentiful and delicious. Cannolis for dessert were also wonderful. Highly Recommended!"

"We picked Avellino on the recommendation of a trusted friend. We wanted a relaxed special-occasion dinner for a family member about to embark on a new adventure.
The recipes and ideas were adventurous, without being "odd" to a lover of Italian cuisine. The pasta dishes were perfectly prepared, both classics and unusual pairings to choose from . More standard meat dishes such as parmigianas were both generous and delicious.
We selected wines from the by-the-glass menu that offered a nice selection at "higher," but understandable prices. The pour was notably generous.
Avellino more than met our expectations."

"I was not particularly interested in your "special features." I was interested in a good place to talk--meeting a friend. I knew the food would be good, the ambiance would be conducive to a good conversation, etc. I was very pleased with our server, Danny. He was attentive but not intrusive; efficient but not hurrying, etc. The restaurant is not "neighborhood" for me, although I would frequent it much more often if it were. I live in Sutton and there are many convenient and good restaurants in Worcester,m but Avellino's is worth the drive."

"Dining seat we had was by the kitchen, could see what was coming out of the kitchen. Not sure what the rest of the restaurant was like.
Not that impressed with the speciality drink menu and not that familiar with wines, but they did have plenty of them listed. Noticed that our server did off another table a small wine tasting of a recommended wine. Food menu on the other hand was great. Was impressed that the chef takes the time to check each order before it goes out to the table. Server was excellent, not sure if she told us her name.
Signed up for the 3 Table Restaurant Group news letter, looking forward to seeing what they have coming up. Definitely would go back."

"We had an early (6:00 pm)Saturday night reservation for 4 and ended up spending 3 hours at our table. We never felt rushed or pressured to leave. The ambiance became noisier as the evening progressed and the restaurant filled up but we were able to converse without difficulty. My husband ordered something that was not on the menu but similar to a dish that was (he requested Veal Saltimbocca which was not offered, however there was a Chicken Saltimbocca on the menu) and our waitress and the chef were very accomodating."

"I chose Avellino's for my birthday dinner with my wife and son, and everything was great. Only our second time there, the restaurant is about 35 or 40 miles away, so not a place we get to on a regular basis, but it is the best Italian we know within reasonable distance from home. My son and I stuck to some traditional Italian preparations, but my wife decided to try the Prime Rib special and found it the best she has had in many years anywhere. It was also good value at just under $20. Dessert was great as well."

"Enjoyed our dinners for the most part. We ordered 3 appetizers, notable was the pesto stuffed Portobello mushroom. Well prepared and delicious! My osso bucco entrée was served lukewarm and was not particularly notable, just ok. My husband had the veal parmagiana and said it was tasty but tough. "We went with a party of 4 couples. Everyone enjoyed their meals! I ordered the chicken parm. I have had this dish in many restaurants and I must say this is the best ever! The chicken was tender and had a light but crispy coating, the sauce was delicious. Our salads were nicely served with a very good Italian dressing. Bread served at the table was also very good. My husband enjoyed his shrimp scampi. Can't wait to go back!"

"My girlfriend and I went to Avellino for a late Valentine's day date, and while it was a bit out of a drive for us, it was well worth it. The beef carpaccio was outstanding and their hand made gnocchi was some of the best I've ever had (second only to my mother's). The service was great, with the waitress appearing exactly as needed to provide refills and check up on us, but she was never intrusive with it.
Amazing atmosphere, it was perfect for a romantic evening, but I could see it being just as fantastic for a larger group or family too. The noise level was a gentle hum of activity and conversation, but nothing horrible. I could see where it might get a bit noisy if the place was packed.
I WILL be returning here."

"A truly wonderful restaurant in Sturbridge. From appetizers to desserts, there is something for everyone. The Frutti di Mare was outstanding, a wide variety of seafood with just the right amount of spice in the sauce. The evening's special, Filet Mignon with lobster, did not disappoint. The meat was cooked to perfection and the lobster was a wonderful addition. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. Avellino is a great date night or any night restaurant."

"out of thousands of restaurants my wife and I have dined at over the past 35 years, this particular night would easily be in the top 10 best dining experiences, because of the food, both entrees and desert, the wine, and the atmosphere. Id give it an A+ recommendation. The only slight complaint is the waitress was not very attentive."

"Dined at Avelino's w/two friends on a Tuesday night and it was delicious. Our waiter was very attentive, the restaurant attractive and well set up and the food was great. Our salads were so fresh and crisp, and the entrees were delicious. The salmon was presented beautifully and sooo good; the ravioli a la vodka was soooo good, as was the osso bucco.

"The food was very good and served at a pleasant pace in between courses. I had the Harvest Agnolotti, which was outstanding. My husband had a seafood alfredo with scallops and loved it. I highly recommend the white chocolate mousse for dessert! It was a staple at the old Whistling Swan/Duck and so glad it's still on the menu."

"It was beautiful and quaint for our group of four. The server was wonderful and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious - you absolutely get what you pay for! Great variety on the menu. The wine list was different and our server recommended two amazing bottles of wine- great deals, too! I highly recommend the fried risotto balls (you would never know they were fried, they're so light) and the vitello marsala (if you're a veal fan)."

"Avellino's is one of the very few Italian restaurants my husband and I can do together with our dietary restrictions. He's a vegetarian and I don't eat cheese, gluten or sugar. The chef will provide gluten-free bread and cook with olive oil instead of butter upon request. There is usually a dairy free dish available and rissoto options. My husband loves the eggplant parmesean. I had pan seared scallops. Keep offering healthy alternatives to pasta and cheese and I'll definately come back!"
