Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is the culmination of a partnership between Lettuce Entertain You, ICON and Joe's Stone Crab, the legendary seafood restaurant of Miami Beach. Opened in Chicago in the fall of 2000, Joe's features an extensive selection of seafood, flown in fresh daily, to complement the world's finest Florida Stone Crab claws. "I am left speachless with our meal. Nick, our server was just great, helpful and clearly explained all questions that we had in regards to portion sizes. We had "The Original" which was just perfect. Crispy, grilled on the outside, tender, juicy, melt in your mouth on the inside. We also had the Black Cod which just melted in your mouth. The asparagus was perfectly grilled. And we also had the stone crabs as an appetizer with the spicey mayo dipping sauce type stuff. I also had a glass of white wine (which Nick picked for me) and it just made everything so much better. Then of course, the oh-so-famous key lime pie (we saved room just for it!) was to die for. Overall--WOW!"

"I've been to Joe's many times and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. However, this dining experience started off very poorly as we had to wait 40 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation and arrived on time. That is unacceptable. What is the reservation for if it doesn't mean we are seated at that time. No apologies were given either."

"For the 1st time I was disppointed with the Stone crabs. It was tough to get the meat out, when I asked the waiter he said they had had other similar comments. They thought it was due to the cold weather in Florida this winter. Too bad they couldn't reduce the price slightly since they weren't the best."

"It was "Restaurant Week" in Chicago, and there were 2 specials available that were an incredible value. The Alaskan King Crab Legs are fantastic, and were included in one of the specials. Soup or salad plus crab legs plus hash browns plus key lime pie was included for half the menu price of the crab legs alone. Service was great!"

"We were very sad to find out upon arrival that the Restaurant Week menu had been altered from what had been previously advertised. Instead of a dinner of 6 stone crab claws, you were offered 1 lb of king crab. That was very disappointing. However, their other option of the steak was quite delicious.

Service was OUTSTANDING. Absolutely no complaints there."

"Food was very good but most noteworthy was the service. We were coming in from out of town, and through a series of travel glitches were 40 minutes late for our reservation. Amazingly, with two other members of our party there explaining our situation to them, they held the table. When we arrived, all employees were nothing but gracious and never made us feel guilty about our late arrival. Truly they went above and beyond."

"consistently perfect. the only stumble was the table that was initially reserved for us. there were two other tables occupied (at 1130am) and they seated us at a table which gave us a birdseye view of the "serving" area. they moved us when asked and we had a superb lunch for my mother's birthday. the fried oysters were phenomenal, as good as anything i've had in new orleans, the chopped vegetable salad was wonderfully fresh and the variety of fish was perfect for the assembled guests. joe's is one of our favorite restaurants and worth every penny!"

"We had a large group of 7 who attended for restaurant week. Our server, John, was very attentive even though we were just there for the restaurant week menu. Also, the wine expert (was not able to catch his name) was also very attentive and took the time to go over the menu and find a good wine recommendation for the group. Unfortunately one of the appetizers (stone crab) did not make it to the table, and had to be removed from the bill. But, the food was very very good, and the portions were very generous. It was incredibly crowded, but that is also to be expected at restaurant week. I would come back again."

"Absolutely delcious seafood, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere- went for Sunday brunch with my mother for her birthday and had a great dining experience, highly recommend! If you're indecisive like me, try the Full House and 2nd Mortgage appetizer plates, best way to get a tasting of everything. The Alaskan king crab was amazing, the Stone Crab Bisque was to die for and the Key Lime Pie was very yummy. Will go back again!"

"Arrived 10 min. early, nowhere to stand in the bar area till our 6pm table was called -- on time. Had to ask for the special $32 menu; it wasn't presented with the regular menu. Noise is too loud to hear the waiter. The two orders of crab legs were watery, didn't taste of much. Outside of the hash browns was done to a crisp turn. Key lime pie terrific."

"Outstanding food, one of the best in the city. I went for restaurant week and was not disappointed, portions were generous and food is top end. Our waiter was great. My only complaint is about the hostess, who was not very courteous. We showed up 15 minutes late, but I had called ahead to let them know, and then she made a point of pointing out we were late. Other than that misstep, I have no complaints about Joe's and would go back for a special occasion!"

We were brought to a table immediately, into a dining room with several vacant tables! I complained to the management. Needless to say, the ensuing service was impeccable."

"If I'm being honest, there's no way to get around one basic flaw with this restaurant: The food is incredibly overpriced. I had a steak which was certainly good, but at $42.95 for a bone-in filet with no sides, I'm wondering why I'm not at Gibson's or Primehouse. Similarly, an order of stone crab runs $43.95, for SIX CLAWS. Six claws? And did I mention that these are tiny? The flavor was good, but definitely didn't have me stammering to come back. As a serial restaurant diner (I eat out 6 times a week), I've come to appreciate the sense of value different restaurants provide. Joe's falls very low on this list. Overall, good food, great service, terrible prices."

"My friend and I went to Joe's during restaurant week and were surprised to find that Joe's has a Classic three course menu many times during the year that matches the low price for the restaurant week lunch. What a remarkable lunch it was - the best seafood found anywhere plus white table clothes and waiters who have been trained to do everything to make lunch a dining pleasure - and a restaurant that takes the patron seriously. The 1/2 slice pies which are famous and famously good respond to today's patron - a little something, but not too much. Our waiter, Larry was a treasure. He was knowledgeable and aimed to please, including adding an extra stone crab claw so we could split an appetizer order evenly. Thanks Joe's and Larry."

"As on prior visits, we waited for about 15-20 minutes even though we had a reservation. There was no room at the bar, so we just stood in the bar area talking until we were called. The service was attentive and friendly. We were disappointed that the large stone crabs were not available but the smaller ones we ordered were tremendous as was everything else including the steak and the stone crab bisque. All in all, a very good experience. We'll go back again."

"This past Friday (2/19/10) was the first time I have ever been to Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. Once we were seated our waiter greeted us. I do have to say this waiter kept us laughing through the entire meal. He had some great stories and funny lines. He had some great recommendations which my boyfriend took him up on. I did the pre-fixed menu. I was blown away with the steak! The steak seasonings weren't a bad addition. My boyfriend had the bone-in ribeye which he ate all of it and said it might have been the best he's ever had. There is no question about it, we will be back!"

"Joe's is an old favorite. It's usually the place of choice for Birthday Dinners for my Boyfriend and I. We went for his birthday just this past Sunday. "My husband and I are frequent guests at Joe's and have always enjoyed the food. My girlfriend and I visited for lunch on Monday and were planning to get the Restaurant Week special of stone crab claws that is on the website. We were informed by the waiter that they had to change the menu and were offering the king crab legs. While those were very good, I cannot express how disappointed I was. If you are going to participate in Restaurant Week and submit a menu, I think it is only right to stick to that menu. The reason I booked lunch at Joe's was for the stone crabs. I understand Restaurant Week is not the most profitable for you, but that does not speak well for your restaurant and I am very disappointed and would expect more from Joe's."

"Love everything about the place except for the no seating until the entire party has arrived rule. I bring business clients to the restaurant. It is awkward to have to stand in a crowded bar/waiting area until the last person arrives. I prefer to sit with my party and start cocktails and appetizers rather than stand in the crowd. "Joe's is FANTASTIC. There is not enough space here to fill with the great accolades as is Joe's. No, it's not a bargain, but the quality meets the price charged. If a diner isn't a seafood or steak devotee, there's very reasonable chicken dishes and accompanying sides. Everything served, from the wide variety of breads, soup, potatoes, stone crabs, steak, scallops, vegetables, pie was delicious and artfully presented. The waitstaff, so helpful, friendly, competent. We were not pushed out the door, even though there was a wait for tables. The place was CLEAN and didn't smell of fish or food. We have only good things to say about Joe's! Having grown up in Miami near the original Joe's Stone Crab, this one, with the help of LEYE is better!"

"I recently went out here with a few friends for our birthday dinner. It was our first time dining here and there's a good chance a we'll probably go back there one day. We went during restaurant week and I had ordered the king crab legs meal which also came with some bisque, hashed browns, cole slaw, and a slice of key lime pie. Everything I had was delicious. My friends ordered the Veal Cutlet, Fliet Mignon, and the sauteed garlic gulf shrimp. We all passed some of each others food around to try and it was all delicious and cook well. The appetizers are definitely big enough for 2 people to share. I could not finish one of mine on my own. The server we had also did a good job and seemed to enjoy doing his job."

"We enjoyed a fantastic meal on a special family occasion. Since it was our first visit to Joe's, we had to try the Stone Crab. It -and the mustard sauce- was delicious. Items are priced a la carte. Our waiter was a great source of imformation and recommendations; he did not steer us wrong. Everything was exceptional - steak, scallops, sides. The atmosphere was very relaxed and unhurried. Our family (all adults) will remember this dinner for a long time."

"The dining experience was top shelf...the wait staff was very professional, yet very courteous and kind. "I guess I was expecting more after hearing everyone rave about this place. I was Disappointed with the "STONE CRAB" hardly any meat and extremely flavorless! Steak was average at best i was expectime "PRIME" type caliber. The Killer Crab leg was fantastic! If I ever go back I will definately invest in the Alaskan King Crab Legs! Wine list was nice. Service was phenomenal! Be sure to ask for MARK! He made our entire dining experience that much better!"

"My fiancé and I dined here on valentines day. Before arriving I called to confirm my reservation, the girl that answered was very rude, I was surprised that we were able to get a table, come to find out when we arrived there was a couple of empty tables. Very nice place, delicious food. I had the Lamb and my fiancé had "John Dory". The only thing that bothered me a little was the people that were under dressed, wearing sweats and baseball caps to the table. W"

"The food, atmosphere -everything was awesome - BUT - ask for Frankie to be your waiter. He's been there for a long time and knows everything about the menu and wine list - for adults and kids. I've been to Joe's many times and all the waiters are great, but Frankie made our family Valentines lunch with our 10 and 12 year old kids extra special.

Also, we received a "Joe's" gift card for Christmas from a family member. That Joe's wasn't part of the Lettuce Entertain You chain. They're related but not directly. Didn't matter. The manager made it work for us. Joe's Chicago is an excellent way to spend a special occassion. Enjoy!"

"The food is very good. I've been here several times and everything I've tried is wonderful. Pricey but worth it, especially for special occasions--but be sure to book ahead, especially if you want to eat in the early evening. "Had a fairly good bone-in filet recommended by waiter as outstanding signature cut, and it was good, but not the best I've ever had. But the additional signature stone crab claws were terrible, with shells crushed into them making it impossible to eat without constant crunching and spitting out of bits. I expected way better for an additional $23 add-on to my already $46 steak. I've had better crab at Red Lobster! Other people at my table who ordered fish were happy with their meals, and at considerably less cost than my $124 (w/included 18% tip) meal-for-one plus a few drinks, bisque, and key lime pie. But the stone crab bisque was rich and very good, and the key lime pie was outstanding."

"Our server was helpful and knowledgeable. It was the first time I had ever had stone crabs, and my boyfriend and I loved them! They were so fresh and the dipping sauce was perfect. The rest of the meal was outstanding and our server helped us pick the perfect bottle of wine to compliment the food. I had the fisherman's platter with a side of steamed garlic spinach. The portion was big enough to share, but it was so good I came close to finishing it. My boyfriend got the 8oz. filet with a baked potato. The filet came with a great seasoning that we loved. Both my boyfriend and I were thinking about our meal the next day and we can't wait to go back!"

"The food and service never disappoint, which is saying something considering the fact that there's rarely an empty table. Reservations mean something; only once have I had to wait more than five minutes beyond the time booked. And I've never felt rushed to leave so that the table could be turned over. Due to its popularity and the noise that goes with it, not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner. But a good spot to go if you are a fan of seafood and fish prepared with a light touch. I am not a steak eater, but I have been told by my dining companion that the filet mignon is especially delicious. A tip to other diners--though not shown on the menu, half portions of desserts are available."

"Went for a special anniversary dinner, and had a wonderful evening. Shrimp & Scallop Ceviche appetizer was out of this world. Stone crabs in appetizer were on the small size, but it's been really cold in Florida this year. Wine list had plenty of variety. Lamb chops & Ahi tuna entrees were both perfectly cooked, and Garlic Spinach and Grilled Tomato sides were awesome. Mentioned our anniversary while making the reservation and got a nice, quiet booth which made for a romantic atmosphere. The service was simply wonderful, too - very attentive but not overbearing, allowing us to linger over dinner for over 2 hours."

"Joe's is one of our all time favorite restaurants. We had the pleasure of going on Super Bowl Sunday at 6:30 and the place was very quiet to our good fortune. "Joe's is always exceptional in every way - but even more so last Thursday. I brought a friend who was celebrating a birthday and had never dined at Joe's. Not only was the food marvelous, the service was beyond compare. Our waiter, John, was training another outstanding candidate for his future at Joe's. "We had a wonderful meal and the waiter and back waiter (Mohammed and Quito) Were just great.
I made this reservation 2 weeks ago for our son's birthday. I requested a corner booth. Our complete party arrived about 10 minutes before our 7:30 reservation. We were told we would be seated shortly. We didn't expect to have to wait for 35 minutes. When we inquired about our reservation they said the were waiting for a corner booth. The Host could have mentioned that to us and asked us if we would rather take another booth rather than wait for a corner. We ended up being seated at almost 8 in a NON Corner booth."

"We booked our reservation a week in advance for 5pm on a Saturday evening. We requested a quiet, intimate location in the restaurant since it was for a my husband's birthday and we received a more secluded spot. Our waiter was spectacular! I had the filet and my husband had the king crab legs. We shared the Jennie potatoes and broccoli. Everything was so delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth, my husband raved about the crab legs, and the sides were cooked to perfection--we enjoyed a hearty meal. For desert, we gorged and shared the banana cream pie and it was delicious. We will definitely be going back!!"

"I love Joes, but this was the worst service I have had in any restaurant. The waiter kept passing us up for his larger table and the people on both sides of us, (who sat down AFTER us) had there main entree before we even got our appetizer. AND it was my birthday! After a 2 hr experience, after telling him i was starving, he was rude. He didnt ask if wanted dessert and when I asked him to wrap up my meal to go, we got home and half of it was missing. AWFUL!"

"We had long anticipated our first visit to Joe's, and we weren't disappointed. We chose to have the signature stone crab claws as an appetizer; they came pre-cracked and chilled with a tasty mustard-based sauce. Our entrees were "colossal" crab cakes (which weren't unusually large, but flavorful with minimal filler) and Joe's scallops, accompanied by Lyonnaise potatoes, green beans amandine and a bottle of reasonably priced Vouvray. A half-slice of turtle pie was just enough to satisfy my craving for something sweet. Service by Rachel was attentive and knowledgeable."

"This was my second time at Joe's and it was great. After my first experience at Joe's, I decided to take my parents here. Being from a small town, they don't get to experience restaurants like this. They had a great time as well. I ordered the King Crab legs and they were outstanding. The best part about it is they cut the crab legs for you so you don't have to struggle picking at them. I've never be so full after eating crab legs. My Dad had the 8 oz. filet and said it was very good. My Mom ordered the special John Dory fish from new zealand. I tried some and thought it was pretty good. For desert we ordered banana cream pie...awesome. Our waiter was very helpful and nice. We had a great time."

"Depend on Joe's to remain a 5 star dining experience. With each visit, our experience remains memorable and a "soon to return trip" is always planned. Top rated staff & kitchen, excellent seafood and succulent steaks. Our number one choice for celebrating that special occasion, in this case, a birthday! One of our guests was a first time diner at Joe's and said his steak was the best he has ever eaten."
