"The restaurant was extreme overheated. We were in the back because I felt the ac would be stronger. I was mistakened. The food was alright. The service was good. It was a little loud for us but we spoke over the other people. Overall it was alright. A little expensive for the quality of food but that's dc. I'm from Louisiana... They should probably try to hire a southern chef and if he is southern then he may need a bit more training in the cuisine."

"the food is average and the menu is definitely limited to standard southern fare. it's all very overpriced for what it is. 2 eggs and some hashbrowns (which were very bland) and a link of sausage costs $10. the best deal is the bottomless mimosas - which did the trick and refills were generous - but weren't the best tasting"

"I went to Southern Hospitality for the first time for mother's day. The shrimp and Grits were delicious and my 11 year old daughter enjoyed the Southern Omelette. The drink I ordered was very strong so I appreciated them taking it back without problem and asking me to approve my daughter's order of a soda. Good job!"

"Went for Saturday brunch. Service was a bit slow and we ended up having to do more than we preferred on our own. First refill on coffee came with the check. It's OK though i got a thirty minute nap in waiting for it after I had finished my food. Food was a bit "meh", Was deep-fried chicken breast and a Belgium waffle like I made in the college cafeteria worth 17$? I probably should have gotten the bottomless drinks. At the end of the experience I didn't feel satisfied at all and ended up going to McDonald's across the street, guilty pleasure saved the day."

"These guys were nice to me even after I was late for my reservation. They rescheduled me with no problem. The food and service was great, but there is a little too much breading on the mini crab cakes, but the shrimp and greats was outstanding! This was my second time, and I was celebrating passing my exams so this was the perfect place. I can't wait to bring my mom for brunch!"

"We were first attracted to this restaurant because of the mac and cheese, and when we tried it, we basically left it untouched. It just tasted like cold pasta with salt. The cheese was bland, there was no creaminess with the sauce, and the dish was cold. My burger was very salty and bland as well. We'll give it another shot because we enjoyed the ambiance, but will be cautious with our food order next time."

"I enjoyed this restaurant for Sunday brunch with large group (15-17). Service was quick and attentive and the bartenders took great care of us. I would recommend the mojito and mimosa. For food, the steak and asparagus salad and chicken and waffles were great."

"Good drinks! Fried green tomatoes and burger was good. Not sure the beef tenderloin (portion and quality) was worth the cost, but overall a decent meal. Service was great."

"Our reservation was honored on time. We were seated at a nice table. Our server was punctual and welcoming. She made good suggestions without trying to sell us something. The apple and green salad was lightly dressed, which was preferred. The rack of lamb was cooked to our specifications and very delicious. I ordered the filet mignon and my husband ordered the fried chicken. For an unknown reason, the fried chicken entree was served before the fillet. Our server was very apologetic, but more importantly took care of the matter immediately. My steak arrived and she bought us a round of drinks. A manager came over to also offer apologies. We felt assured that the restaurant staff wanted us to have an enjoyable experience."

"I met three friends here for brunch. The waiter was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and the food has so far made Southern Hospitality our favorite brunch spot yet. You must get the fried chicken eggs benedict. AMAZING."

"All 4 times I have been there they were out of the veggie burger. As a vegetarian it was that or pasta ravioli. I had the (bland, small serving, $17 overpriced) pasta. When I said "wow, 4th time I'm here and every time you are out of the veggie burger," there was no effort to address it. Note to restaurant: Make/order mode veggie burgers.
When I came in to the restaurant, I discreetly told the host that one of my party would be celebrating a birthday and to please have a dessert surprise. Standing next to my table the host and server chatted about how I asked for a surprise... So much for it being a surprise.
Did I mention the table wobbled and the water glass had clearly not been washed.
Gonna give up on this one."

"Our food took a while to come, even though we seemed to be the only people ordering food (everyone else was sitting at the bar). The food was quite good (I got the filet mignon medium rare, which came closer to rare than medium, and he got the salmon)."

"Food was delicious, but service was slow. Late night hours available for night-owls. They have a lengthy list of wines and spirits.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The food was on point but the service was slow. It was two of us dining. The bartender was serving us, she tried her best but could have definitely used more help handling the upstairs floor rather than being by herself."

"The food is pretty standard, but good. There is not too much exciting about the brunch menu, but the quality of the food was solid. I would describe it is a solid breakfast and lunch place, but definitely not a special occasion place."

"Wasn't bad, but didn't live up to my expectations. The good was not as genuinely southern as the name seems to suggest. Mike, our waiter, was very kind and accommodating and our view from the second floor table was nice."

"Obviously the chef has never been to the South. The "fried chicken" is a thinly-pounded filet -- not an immediately recognizable part of a chicken. The waffle was under-cooked and doughy. The fried green tomatoes had a floury onion-ring batter rather than a nice corn meal one. The mac n cheese was flavorless. SoHo's concept is 'fill the menu with fried items and call it Southern cooking.' My take, "SoHo is inhospitable.""

"A little pricey for the overall quality, but we had a nice time. The gumbo was my least favorite thing (but my bar is high - I am a LA native). The salmon was very good."

"What a great surprise! An excellent choice for dinner with friends. From the moment we checked in, the staff were warm and friendly. The food was really good. The fried chicken, meatloaf, short ribs special and the scallops special were all delicious. I'm glad were saved room for dessert. The desserts were yummy!"

"The staff at Southern Hospitality truly embodies the name of the restaurant. Everyone is incredibly friendly and warm. We were celebrating a birthday and having brunch, and the staff was very attentive and and our bottomless mimosa glasses were always full to the brim. Also, the food is AMAZING. The mac&cheese is a must (best I've had) and the fried chicken eggs benedict was delicious."

"It was a cold morning, and the room we were in wasn't heated. The server did not know the soup of the day when we asked--and seemed uninterested in finding out. The chicken with the chicken and waffles was thin and overcooked. I had hoped for a lush southern comfort food experience, but I was left wishing I'd chosen another restaurant."
