"We had online reservations for breakfast Mother's Day morning. We arrived on time at Season's and was told that the breakfast had been moved to the Great Hall because they were preparing for brunch. We rushed back to our car and drove to the Great Hall. We still had to wait because they did not have our name. The table was bare except for the basics. No flowers on the table and my coffee was served in a paper cup. The food was good. My husband and daughter had wanted this to be special but we left feeling like we had overpaid for nothing special.
Yes we have been to High Lake Inn Season's before and it was very nice. Just not this time."

"I made online reservations for Mother's Day. I then called the restaurant & the woman explained that brunch was booked and that the breakfast buffet would be in a different spot than normal due to brunch. Good thing I called because the online reservation said none of this! When we arrived, the hostess directed us to where we needed to go... Once we got to that building, the gentleman running the show asked for our name, but could not find us on the reservation list! So he says, let me see if I can find you a table. He sat us at a large round table with another couple! The food was good. Our server was slow to get to us at first, and after we received our drinks, we didn't see her again. Not a good first experience here."

"Very good dining experience. We had 6:45 reservations and the place was packed. We order the duck, halibut,scallops and a filet. All were passed around and enjoyed. Salads were good as well - Bibb lettuce with blue cheese. The pickled shrimp app needs some work - sent it back. The foiciha bread brought to the table had to be right out of the oven - very good. Service was attentive and not over bearing .. Will go back."

"We were given a quiet table, however, there was a group celebrating a birthday in the same room and they were a bit loud. The restaurant did not have loud music playing which is to us very annoying and too common these days. It is nice to be able to have a conversation with the person you are dining with. The food was very flavorful and nicely presented. We had reservations for an early dinner at 6:00 so it was not crowded. The window tables are nice as they look out into the garden which is lovely. The overall setting at Highland Lake Inn is very nice and peaceful."

"The service was very fine and certainly well above average. The music was quite good but the vocals were not. His guitar w/o his voice would have been a much better choice. the food was of very good quality and I found the detailed hardcopy listing useful as well as interesting. I do think you should have a non-fried fish or seafood option. Most of the food was pretty heavy; i wish you'd had some lighter dishes and especially some lighter side items. Bread, both sour dough and biscuit, were of marginal quality. the Tres Leche' was not that good. I have had much better for sure.
Certainly glad we invested the time and money in trying this place and would return again."

"Great experience at lunch today! Season's is a surprise well worth the trip from Asheville. Interior is a little dated, but the food and service was really excellent. Prime rib, chicken, fish, fresh veggies and salad bar with a great selection of beautiful toppings. Sat by the window overlooking a nice patio. Spring will be beautiful there."
