"We're not new to Stanford's but this is the first time we've dined at this location. Made reservations and showed up early. Seated late, first negative strike. Waitress took our drink order, got half the drinks and then waited for the bar drinks a long time. Took our food order. And we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. A hostess/manager came over and apologized for the delay and blamed the kitchen for being backed up. We had to ASK for bread. Took 5 requests to get water glasses refilled. Got our meals, ok food at best, real downer. What should have been a 1.5 hour meal at tops took over 2 hours. We were comped for a part of our meal at the end but by then it was just too little too late."

"Stanford's is good standard suburban chain food. A step above other off the highway places. Nice ambiance. Very attentive service. Our group had Bloody Mary's 3 ranges of spiciness. Breakfast burrito, French toast, crab artichoke Benedict, short ribs and veg frittata. Everyone pronounced their choices good, clean plates all around. The short ribs were flavorful & tender. My frittata though the veg were unevenly cooked and on the cold side. Some issues with timing out of the kitchen. It was Mothers Day. They were busy. In retrospect I should have known better don't order the only veg meal on the menu. Even the salads came with meat, not as an option. Not my Mothers Day choice but my mother's. She was happy, I'm happy."

"We each had one of the special, new steaks on the menu. With them came free prawns. The prawns were super! The steaks were outstanding. Together they made one of the best dining experiences I've ever had at Stanfords! We were there after the Mother's Day breakfast crowd left and the lunch group was just beginning. Even though it was not full yet, it was a busy restaurant. The noise level was not high, and the service was quick and efficient. It was an over all exceptional experience."

"I had another great lunch at Stanford's. The food is almost always great, but it is the terrific service that sets it apart from most other restaurants. They are friendly, check back often without hovering over you so that you can't read or carry on a conversation, they don't rsh you, and most of them remember your name if you are a regular."

"Great upscale dining, comfortable decor with both booths and tables for seating. Easter menu included both brunch/breakfast items and regular entree items. Four in our party today. We started with a couple of appetizers, the baked brie and the fruit plate, both quite tasty, enough for all to share, paired well with the Sauvignon Blanc we ordered. Entrees included a couple of Salmon salads, the veggie fritatta, and the barbecued ribs. All great choices, excellent taste, large portions. Service was very good, attentive, not hovering, not rushed given that this was Easter Sunday. Great restaurant for a fine dining meal and experience. Definitely will be back."

"I took my sweetie to Stanford's for his birthday dinner. Per the usual birthday dinner he ordered a steak, but when it was served it was over done. Disappointed that we hand to send it back but what good is a birthday steak not up to par? They had no problem fixing their mistake and even gave us a discount and creme brulee for the trouble. We had a very nice evening."

"We went to enjoy a Easter dinner together and overall we had a great time. I'd like to note 2 complaints I have. One is of their house salad - my daughter and I both ordered this side and it was drenched in the honey mustard dressing. We could barely eat half of it. I also ordered the primerib/salmon meal. At almost $30 I expected a little more. Literally 1/4 of the prime rib was a thick piece of fat that was not consumable. There were other pieces of fattiness all around the cut I received also. It was very dissapointing. Other that that..the other meals we received were enjoyed - halibut fish tacos, hamburger, grilled chicken sandwich and the onion rings for the appetizer were very good. And our waitress overall friendly."

Review 10 for Stanford's - Kruse Way (Lake Oswego)
"I had the ribs because I've never tried them here before. They were not as lean as most places, but the taste was wonderful. I would suggest ordering a full rack--only about $3 or $4 more, and you have them to take home. I did an experiment at home because I had heard that they were even better cold. I ate half of those I took home hot, and half cold. They were wonderful both ways. They would make a wonderful picnic dinner later in the day. Weekend service is not as great as the service during the week."

"Even though we were next to the large room and it was lunchtime, it was quiet for dining. I hadn't been in that room at a busy time and was concerned that it would be noisy. We could hear other conversations going on, but they were not intrusive. The food, as always, was great. I had the salmon oscar and found it done to perfection and very tasty. Great service from Jason who always is very helpful and friendly. Above shows the service as "Very Good" instead of "Outstanding." That is because the "Outstanding" button wouldn't work, and I couldn't file my evaluation without checking something under Service."

"Still not as good as it used to be before Restaurants Unlimited bought them. There are a couple of dishes that are consistent, but the rest are hit and miss."

"The tenderloin tips were overcooked---and extremely salty!! Also, this place apparently is not interested in serving decent bread. Otherwise, a pleasant meal."

Review 17 for Stanford's - Kruse Way (Lake Oswego)
"This is the first time ever that I've had a poor waitress. She was totally uninterested in people she was waiting on. This restaurant specializes in wait people who are interested in those they are waiting on--learn and use your name, know about you, etc. If anything, you get more attention than you need, but not that day. A couple from another table was grumbling about her as they passed me on their way out.
The food was great. I had the prime rib, and it was excellent. The side veggies were very good."

"This was after the Shamrock Run which they gel;ed sponsor, so it was noisy, but a happy noise, not an annoying bar noise. However, they were short on help, and it took over two hours to get lunch in the dining room. The food was great, as usual, and they should have been prepared with extra help that day, not less help than usual."

Review 20 for Stanford's - Kruse Way (Lake Oswego)
"We had a good time. The food was mostly good. The service was odd. I find it slightly expensive for the quality of the experience and the food. My wife ordered the filet which was cooked to perfection, and then doused in some kind awful sauce. Why would you ruin a beautiful filet with sauce. At least just put it on the side. Our server was also very lacking. Hardly saw her. She would rush by, didn't ask if more drinks were wanted, didn't ask if anyone wanted coffee or dessert... just brought the check. Regardless of the bad service and the ruined filet. Stanfords is respectable. I recommend it, but stick to the Kruse Burger... A very good burger. In fact, just eat in the bar area. Great service in the bar."

"We invited our children with our grandaughter and I appreciated the kids menu. Our table was out of the mainstream, which was considerate, not everyone appreciates the energy and chatter of a three-year old. Thank you for a nice dining experience. I love Open Table!"

"The service was very good The food wasnn't. We have dined at Stanfords many times. The food has been excellent. This time it was not. Salmon was overcooked, Rrime rib was dry. We were really dissapointed. This was always our special occasion place. We will probably have to re-think this."

"Vert nice atmosphere, also has great and generous Happy Hour. Nice menu and moderately priced with generous portions. Not necessarily where you want to go for the "over the top" special occasion but a great place to meet same geration friends. Not place that my younger 30-40's kids want to meet us since they prefer the "non-chain" offerings in the SE/NW PDX."

"I had one of the surf and turf specials they have on the menu this month. It was terrific, and there was enough food that I took half of it home for another meal. The beef was tender and had an excellent sauce. The barbecued shrimp were large and tender."
