"I was not expecting how wonderful everything was. The food left my mouth watering. The flavors were wonderful. Our sever was on top of it all and had a fantastic attitude. Would highly recommend Stanfords!!"

"This favorite spot of our lived up to our expectations! The presentation of the Pork Medallions was amazing, and Beef Tenderloin Tips was a hit for several in our party. The comfortable, relaxing atmosphere was perfect for celebrating our graduate. Several of the staff stepped up and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of."

"Poor service despite relatively empty dining room, severely truncated menu, table had a filmy residue, prices were increased (though only slightly), food was fair at best and certainly not worth the price. Overall disappointing. Will hesitate to return. Previous experiences, however, were satisfactory for business lunches."

"I was looking for a place to eat our last night in Portland and thought this would be great. The food was delicious, I had halibut tacos and there were so many I had to take them home with me. My friends also enjoyed their food. The problem was the service. The host had to hunt down our server at first because he did not come around. After he took our order he was gone. After seeing the amount of salad dressing, one of my friend's decided that her entree of salad would need dressing on the side, yet he did not come around once more until the food was served. He did not even now the menu, as avocado was left of my other friend's burger and he had to go ask if it was supposed to come with it. Food and wine list were good, service was lacking."

"We used to be huge fans of Stanford's, but their menu has taken a turn, and we're dissapointed by the lack of selection and variety. They have taken off some favorites, and it doesn't seem they've added much that was very appetizing. The food we did get was prepared well and was hot. The mojito was delicious from the bar. However, I was corrected and questioned by the water several times when I physically showed him that the sauce from my sandwich was all together missing... never a pleasant experience to be told you are wrong, when you are clearly right. I do not think we will go back, just because of the fact that $14 is too much for a cheeseburger and I miss their old menu too much!"

"We had a great experieance. The food was delicious and our waitress was attentive but did not bother us with annoying flyby requests. She noticed when we needed something and came by at the appropriate time to address the request.I took half of my plate of food home and ate it as leftovers and they were wonderful! And yes the portions are big enough to leftovers! The thin crust pizza's were really good and also left you with leftovers. THey needed a little more meat and cheese though."

"I ordered the "fresh" Alaskan halibut, which was frozen, greasy, soggy/mushy not good at all. My hubby had brisket, so tough and dry it was hard to cut with a steak knife, tasted like boiled roast beef. We made reservations in advance on a Fri night told them it was a special occasion, asked for a quiet table we were put in very busy part of the dining room surrounded by a loud group on one side and a family with 4 kids on the other side. I looked up at our table in my frustration which was a mistake the ceiling had cobwebs hanging down over the table we were eating at. I was completely distusted at this point. Oh and we ordered a glass of wine with the brisket which they recommended and had to ask twice for it after they offered it."

"Stanfords is a restuarant chain in the Portland, OR area; we often go to the Jantzen Beach location as it is the most convenient to our home, and it is one of our favorite area restaurants. We often choose it for special occasions but also for everyday dining. The food is uniformly good and the wine and beer lists always provide a good selection.
On this most recent visit we were celebrating my wife's birthday, and the service was friendly and accommodating, offering a free dessert to her to celebrate (and even allowed her to substitute a free cappuccino instead of dessert, though the server had to go check with the manager even though the coffee was less expensive than any of the desserts)."

"I gather a group of old co-workers every month to catch up and visit. Our experience at Stanford's was great so I decided to hold it there again the next month. They have the tables set up and ready for us upon arrival and place us towards the rear of the restaurant to give us privacy yet not disturb patrons if we giggle and laugh loudly. The service was phenomenal and the food has always been delicious and reasonable."

"We visited this Stanfords 6 years ago and thought it was the best. We made it a point to return when we were in the area again. (We live 6 hours away).We made reservations for three, but it expanded to 13. The hostess was gracious about it and sat us in the perfect spot. We came with 6 girls who had been cooped all day in a gym practicing for All-State Choir. They were elated to be able to wiggle a bit. They wiggled too much for us parents but knew they were over the top excited. William was so patient. He might have grumbled as he left our tables but he was professional when he was there. Touring downtown Portland for culinary hot spots earlier, Stanford's food was the best we had all weekend."
