"We enjoy wine and thought this neighborhood spot sounded interesting, especially with its' Michelin rating. We had soup and the poached white asparagus and while both were tasty, we did not think it was fabulous. We both had wine, me Italian red and my wife California Cabernet. We both had the pollock and were not overly impressed . We did not want coffee or dessert as we were afraid of being disappointed more."

"My expectations may have been unfair, but I was disappointed. The service was friendly. The cured meat and cheese board was great. The appetizer and entree from the prix fixe menu were OK but forgettable (cauliflower soup and bouillabaisse for me). And I liked the buttermilk vanilla panna cotta but my wife didn't.
I realize that one Michelin star means that a restaurant is exceptional in a specific category, and it did seem like a nice neighborhood wine bar . But this is the only star awarded to any restaurant in Queens, which to many people probably implies that it's the best restaurant in the entire borough. It's not. I expected a destination, but nothing stood out enough for me to make another trip from elsewhere in Queens."

"Ambiance and service were fine. The food was only OK. We had the ham croquettes as an appetizer, they had absolutely no ham. They didn't even taste of ham at all,a total disappoinment. Also had the gnocchi again nothing spectacular. We had better luck with the duck confit, but then again it's hard to get duck soaked in its own fat wrong. We shared a dessert. We went for the rum raisin carrot cake. It was nice that it was warm but there was no vestige of rum in the flavor and the only raisins we tasted were part of the garnish. Again OK but not great.
Overall I would say that the experience did not equal the pricetag of $100 for two (+tip)"

"Loved this place and the food was great. Not a large menu but the options are great. Not too loud which is always nice when with family or on a date. Will definitely come back again!"

"I was disappointed in the restaurant. The food was good but nothing special like I had heard. I had the pollack which came with eggplant described as "caviar". I had to ask the server what it what because I could not tell. The ambiance was homey but the dinner felt rushed somehow. The noise level was high and it was hard to hear a conversation. All in all, if you live in the neighborhood it seems worth a try but I don't know if it was worth leaving Brooklyn for it."

"I have been going to Danny Brown for years now and went last Saturday. The kitchen rushed our meal and spoiled the evening for us. We still had our unfinished appetizers on the table and brought out our entrees. There is no excuse for that. Then they took the entrees back. Came back cleared our table and brought our food right out again. That spoiled our evening. We asked the waitress if they wanted to turn our table and she said no. No manager presence either. The food, as usual, was excellent but we will not be going back to Danny Brown. Definitely amateur night when it comes to service."

"I went with a party of 4 foodies and had an absolutely phenomenal meal and wonderful service for a birthday celebration. I highly recommend them for any special occasion. Try the mackerel tartare, duck breast and fluke in hazelnut butter."

"Danny Brown"s is one of the most outstanding restaurants we've eaten in. The chicken is incredible; the grilled calamari with beans, amazing, and Danny's mom recommended an amazing Spanish granache to complement the meal. Another stellar meal at this consistently amazing eatery."

"I have eaten at Danny Brown many times in the last 4 years. My dinner on Thursday evening was the first tne i was very disappointed. The food was cool and the sause on the brease of veal almost inedibly salty. Service was wonderful as usual. Perhaps Mr. Brown had the night off in which case his sous chef needs a lighter hand on the salt shaker."

"Definitely not a cheap night out, but a good one. We were a party of four and started with the large meat & cheese board and the venison tartare (for most of us, our first time trying venison). Everything was absolutely delicious. Dinner entrees were likewise of high quality and featuring fresh and local ingredients. And, they have wine flights!"

"Michelin is stingy with its "Stars" and this Forest Hills find most certainly deserves the accorded honor. Clearly rivals any Manhattan eatery with unique selections expertly prepared. The coq a vin is outstanding offered on the February (Tue & Wed) price fix and hopefully will be added as a permanent menu choice. Excellent, reasonable wine choices by the glass or bottle and smooth professional service complete this extraordinary dining experiance."

"The service was outstanding. Unfortunately, the food wasn't. I ordered the lamb based on some reviews, and boy did I regret it. The lamb and the potatoes and veggiies that came w it tasted like it had been doused in super salty teriyaki sauce. I was extremely disappointed. It was so salty, how could they let it leave the kitchen like that? Should've said something, my fault for not wanting to make a scene. My friends' dishes were okay, but nothing so special to say 'wow, now I know why this is the only Michelin-rated restaurant in Queens. ' There was a considerable wine list but not too many in the Cabernet section. The red wine list could be larger, but that's just my preference. Most of them were 2011 bottles, too young for my taste."

"I am very pleased by this once star Michelin restaurant, and the only one in queens with this award. I had the restaurant week menu and I was very satisfy with the meal. The grill chorizo was fantastic, the hanger steak outstandingly cooked, but nothing as great as the panacotta and its citrus sauce.. Besides, Elina the waitress made even more special, and The staff was friendly. I could have a better experience, for sure I will coming back pretty soon."
