"We had a joint 25th anniversary--celebrate oldest child buying his first home celebration. Great service (and food rec). Relaxing. Loved the pork and crab cakes. Everybody had a great meal. Shared a fabulous chocolate dessert. Shall return."

"I have dined here 5+ times and have never been disappointed. Always fun to dine at the kitchen bar and watch as they prepare the food. Wine selection is ok but could be better to compliment the experience"

"Service was spot on! Our waiter was well versed in the entire menu. He was patient, gracious and outstanding! The food was cooked to perfection. The star of the menu was the crabcakes and fried mirlitons... Amazing! Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back."

"One is a great hidden gem tucked away in the Riverbend neighborhood. The fried soft-shell crab was outstanding - fresh, great flavor, and not overdone like you'll find in many places. The ambiance is energetic and can get slightly loud, but it's not overwhelming. This was our third time dining here and we will definitely return again."

"My server MF was very attentive the restaurant was "rockin'" the night I visited since it was during Jazz Fest. They make their own sourdough whole wheat bread and it was delicious. The oysters with Roquerfort were good, although the flavor of the cheese overpowered the delicate oysters a bit. My fish was described as "white flakey mahi" but wasn't very good (why don't they use locally caught fish?). My main complaint was that the hot food arrived on a cold plate, thus creating lukewarm food. They could be so much better with just a little effort and common sense."

"Eaten at One several times. Food is always good as it was this time, but took way too long to receive our entree (90 minutes from the time we were seated). All we had was an appetizer served at normal time. Then long wait for entree. Proprietor comped a glass of wine for our wait which was nice, but I would rather pay and not have such a wait. I will give them another chance as this is the only time I have ever experienced a problem."

"Like Cheers, everyone knows your name, only with gourmet, brilliant cuisine. Scottie is one of the most creative and innovative chefs in New Orleans."

"We had dinner at ONCE last year for the first time during JazzFest. We sat at the bar and watched three wizards at work, spinning out incredible food. We have returned several times throughout the year and have sent friends traveling down to New Orleans. (We live north of NYC.) Back again this year for JazzFest and our first dinner was at Once. Again at the bar, because the ballet with fire just adds to a delicious experience. Again delightful with excellent food; we will always return to ONCE."

"I have not been in this restaurant for a while and was curious whether it is still as good as it used to be. This visit did not disappoint me: I enjoyed a lunhc with my guest there and will definitely come back again."

"The food was interesting but not as great as I had expected from a recent review. The crab cake and the tomato 3 ways were very nice - bread was delicious. Very pleasant wait staff."

"Truly a great restaurant. Quality food at a great price. Excellent bartender. They excel in their preparation of fish. I would not order the filet mignon again. The meat was not of the best quality."

"One is a $18 cab ride from the French Quarter, but we loved the idea of seeing the Garden District and thought it looked charming. The restaurant is located in an old house and met the charm factor. There were young people all around outside enjoying the evening so it had a college town buzz about it. We were seated promptly and the server offered us a taste of two bottles of wine to help with our selection. We chose a nice Oregon pino. We had a lovely appetizer of scallops that were prepared perfectly. The disappointment was our entree. We shared the fish (mahi). It was served on one plate and we were handed a extra empty plate. The fish was bland and was served with two asparagus stalks. Unfortunately, I can't recommend One."

"This was my third visit to Le Foret in the past year. The food is consistent and has improved from very good to exceptional on my last visit. The service has also been consistent; consistently lacking and inadequate. On every occasion our waiter failed to remove empty cocktail glasses, appetizer and salad plates. Unbelievably, our entrée plates were used to push those items aside. I had to instruct the waiter to do his job and clear the table. We enjoyed two very nice bottles of wine on our last visit, and as the waiter and sommelier were nowhere to be found during the entire meal, I performed the refilling service. This is all the result of poor management. The food is exceptional, but the disappointing service will keep me away."

"Unbelievably reasonable deal - two courses plus a glass of wine for $35.00. Can't beat the price. The food was outstanding and our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and wine list. The crabcake and mirliton appetizer was delicious. Will definitely go back over and over."

"Ever since my first visit in 2005, I have to eat at One whenever I'm in town. I like to sit at the kitchen bar and watch the chefs work. This time I brought a friend who was travelllng with me and she really liked it, too. I'm hooked on the fried Mirletons...wish they could figure out a way to package and sell them!"

"My only complaint is it seemed the entire restaurant was trying to get served their dinner at the same time. At least 30 minutes between appetizers and main course. Our food was warm not hot but my veggies were cold. It just seemed the cooks were struggling to keep up. Even though delicious, I would love to taste it HOT considering the price. I love ONE and will still go back."

"The food was excellent and the service very professional. The owner chef personally watches over each and every meal as it is prepared. The kitchen is visable from the resturant seating. If seated at the proper table, you can if you like, watch the care given to the preparation of your meal. The chef can also watch over his resturant to personally insure you proper service. We have never had a bad meal or experience at this resturant."

"I have been to ONE several times before and have always enjoyed the food. This time we had to wait thirty minutes past our reservation time to get our table. Then we waited about an hour to get our entrees, the appetizers arrived on time. The food was mediocre at best. Hopefully this was just an off night for the restaurant because I really do like ONE and will probably go back."

"The food and service was very good. We went on Valentine's Day night, so the main course took a little longer to arrive than desired, but it was busy and the kitchen is pretty small."
