"Staff very friendly and accomodating. Food was awesome, felt like we were in France but with a modern twist. Had a great evening. Our children (9 and 11) loved the food as well, even though it's "fancy", which says a lot about the skillful chef. We will definately return!"

"We have had wonderful dining experiences at Mas over the past two years, and we may not be going back. The food was terrific, as usual. However, the restaurant seems to want to attract a younger and hipper crowd each time we go. This time, the music practically ruined dinner. We were in the cozy and romantic back dining room, but the music was really loud and distracting. And it changed from "Jersey Boys" for thirty minutes to more loud guitar for the rest of dinner. Decidedly not romantic. We were told the wait staff choose the stations. Not the most conducive to a grown up dining experience away from the kids."

"By far one of the best meals we have had in the city. We sampled the six course chefs tasting menu and it was incredible - every dish was cooked perfectly. Great play on different flavours, textures and pairings. The service was great - our server was very helpful and pleasant.
I would highly highly recommend Mas farmhouse! You wont regret it!"

"I went to Mas for a graduation celebration with a 5 person group. We ordered the prix fixe menu and were all blown away and went home very pleased. The Tuna Appetizer is excellent, as were the Beef Short Rib and Brook Trout Entrees. The dessert really swept us off our feet and if I could have I would have ordered one of everything on that menu for myself! The table service is elegant and classic. The atmosphere is lovely with soft lighting, notably fun music, and comfortable table arrangements. The waitstaff is fantastic all around. We had a fabulous meal and can't wait to return; next time we may even go big for the six course chef's tasting!"

"My husband and I had a delicious 3 course tasting (mine vegetarian). II have to commend the restaurant for being so accommodating too - the table to my left had multiple food allergies and dislikes, the one to my right, pregnancy restrictions. They responded so graciously and patiently. It was a very warm and welcoming experience and fresh, unique food."

"From the amuse bouche to the dessert, a really, really satisfying meal in a lovely ambience with quiet, generally attentive service. My wife orders a tuna appetizer just about everywhere we dine. She thought Mas (farmhouse)'s Tuna L'Occidentale was the best she'd ever had. The short ribs with black garlic main course was perfect. The meat was soft but not mushy, rich but not greasy.
Two quibbles: we thought the kitchen was a little on the slow side and, although multiple choices of bread were offered, bread was offered only once."

"Although the food was good, I felt the portions were awfully small for the price. I love farm-to-table cuisine and I actually prefer eating several smaller courses but at the end of the meal, I didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I think there are much better options in the city for this kind of eating. Telepan is a much better option, IMO."

"The atmosphere of Mas restaurant is very nice, muted walls and wood on walls to give a farmhouse feel. The food, however, did not follow suit. A crab salad appetizer was very salty and otherwise tasteless, a roasted beet salad was mediocre. The soft shell crabs, which should be in full season, were without taste and soggy - the plate itself was boring, as was the other courses that were served. Food on a plate, no artistry, no flair, no color or imagination. We decided not to stay for dessert or coffee, as we had enough disappointment for the evening."

"Loved everything about this place. From the moment you are greeted by the lovely hostesses to the minute you take your last sip of wine you will have an evening to remember. "Everything was wonderful. We did the three course tasting (includes dessert) and were in heaven from start to finish. The shrimp appetizer, scallops and pork ribs were our favorites, but everything was absolutely delicious and we could barely talk about anything at dinner except for the food, it was just that good! The service was outstanding and I was happy that they brought dessert with a candle and happy birthday written in chocolate sauce for my boyfriend's birthday. It was a wonderful dining experience and made for the perfect birthday dinner."

"The service was friendly and attentive. Very eager to explain the dishes and the selection options. His wine selections were perfect. Although we agree that generally the food and related presentations were as expected based on reviews we read - there were two disappointments that seem glaring to us. First, one of our orders of duck was so tough and grizzly that the meat could not be cut or pull it apart to eat or share - it was a chore. Second and foremost, the short ribs were blah/tasteless and also seemed to be brisket meat rather than short ribs. Overall the consensus was - we would not go back based on the cost and the disappointment.
Also, The back room we were in was noisy and tended to get very warm."

"Good food. Attentive service. The chardonnay came out ice cold! We had to wait a long time for it to come to the correct temperature. Too bad! I don't know what the wine guy was thinking. He should've known better and I should've asked for another bottle. For the prices they charge here, I shouldn't have taken that kind of treatment. Otherwise, a wonderful place."

"My brother and I came here for dinner. We did the three course tasting menu - which actually ends up being four courses because they give you dessert. All the food was really good. "A delicious delight! The staff knew our name and were most pleasant. Our server had a sense of humor and was totally knowledgeable concerning the food and the wine. While wine prices were high, she found exactly what we wanted at the price we wanted to spend. I had the short rib - awesome flavors; my husband had the duck - cooked perfectly. "The spouse and I had the six-course tasting menu ($150 per person plus drinks) and each component was wonderful. We liked the listed tasting menu and were concerned that the items for the larger tasting menu would be decided by the chef, but we loved each. We had drinks rather than wine and enjoyed our cocktails. Service was very attentive, and the only time we had any issues catching the staff's eye was when we wanted to pay our bill. Although we prefer quiet environments and tend to eat early - our reservation was for 6:15 PM - we were surprised how busy and full the restaurant became so early on, but it did not detract from the experience. Clientele was notably upscale, although typical for this price range"

"The food was exquisite, service impeccable, and the overall experience excellent. The only room for improvement is at the bar. They have very limited offerings, no top shelf liquor, and were unable to make a gimlet, belini or mojito due to lack of ingredients. That didn't feel very top notch. Improve the bar, and you've got the perfect restaurant."

"We enjoyed Mas. Food was good, we had the 6 course tasting menu which was a good way to experience first time. The waiter made our experience better by simplifying the menu by asking us what general food groups we preferred and by which the chef would then customize our tasting courses. Food was Good because a couple of the courses were a bit bland but overall the meal was enjoyed. Service was excellent; attentive but not intruding. One criticism on the Wine List, my wife and I always like to have a good bottle of wine to compliment our meal but whilst there was a good list, it was with high premiums that we usually do not see at comparable restaurants and then our by-the-glass alternative at $25 a glass was still pricey"

"I have never taken the time to write a review but felt compelled to do so in this instance. I had heard very positive things about Mas and after many attempts to get a reservation, finally was able to get one for this past Wed. What a disappointment! The waiter was absolutely bizarre and had an attitude, although the support staff was great. Other than the amuse bouche, the food was just ok. There are other farm to table restaurants that I have been to recently that are far far superior. I have no desire to return here."

"Everything about Mas was good, but not great. The food was carefully prepared, but not particularly flavorful (except for the tortellini, of which there were too few). The brussel sprouts appetizer and monkfish entree were outright duds. And I'm not sure what makes this a farm-to-table restaurant; the ingredients and preparations seemed standard. The service was attentive, but they did not accommodate a request to sit in the back room when they clearly could have. The restaurant was quite pretty, but the acoustics were terrible, making it hard to hear my date above the din. What's worse, the vent above my table caused a noticeable chilly breeze. Put simply, Mas is a pricey special occasion restaurant that's not special enough to return."

"Unfortunately, as much as we've enjoyed this restaurant in the past for its charm and food, the duck entrees for 2 of us were way too tough to be called good and there were too many dishes with "oat" flakes floating around. The drinks are too expensive. The amuse bouche was excellent as was the dessert. I probably would not rush to come back even though I think it's one of the prettiest restaurants in the City. Sorry about that! And we did appreciate being able to order from the fixed price menu The hostess/waitress was lovely and very knowledgable. We probably should have told her about the duck upon cutting into it, but we didn't. We don't like to make a fuss over things when you're out to have a nice evening."

"Wow. My husband called this the "best meal he'd ever eaten". The wait staff was amazing- very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, but totally unobtrusive. "Having been there at least 4 times prior, I was completely disappointed. The food wasn't close to what they are capable of. Do you give a restaurant a night off? I am not sure I do. In the past, it was one of my favorites, but after this dinner, it's not anymore. To me, it's all about the food."
