Four generations ago the Latz family arrived at the South Jersey beach colony. Since then they have passionately operated restaurants and created a culinary environment which has delighted millions of visitors to the Jersey shore. Latz"s is based on an organic and sustainable philosophy. It is American cuisine at its best using freshly caught seafood, grass fed meat and the finest of locally grown produce. The vintage 19th century cottage offers diners water views as well as a charming garden complete with a babbling water fountain. No trip to Latz's would be complete without a tasting of one of their freshly baked desserts. Latz's is a BYOB with a menu selection that will compliment any wine or spirit that one may bring. No trip to the shore is complete with a visit to Latz's in Somers Point.
"Always a quaint, lovely evening, now that Chef Lou Macera is running the kitchen, the food is going to be that much better than before. The duck was wonderful, and the crab cakes were meaty. Latz's is a charming location for a pleasant dinner."

"The place is just adorable; everything you picture for a Mothers' Day brunch. The teas were the best any of us had ever tasted and the food was delicious, but a few plates were cold. I think they needed to add another server for the day. Overall, I'd love to go back with my girlfriends for tea. It's the quaint place Somers Point was missing."

"Dined in the main area downstairs. Have to say it was very noisy. With the wood floors there was nothing to absorb the sound. It might behoove them to look into some sort of wall hangings that help to absorb sound or some sort of ceiling treatment to help with this. The staff -although very friendly judt didnt quite seem to have it altogether yet. Things seemed a bit haphazard. Menu was simple for brunch - not crazy number of choices which I think is a good thing. Nice specials. Would give it another try maybe for dinner. They need to get the noise thing under control though as it does affect the pleasure of enjoying the experience."

"My second time here - great girls day out - service excellent - quiant. Enjoyed most food - two of us ordered the chicken crepes - felt there was a little too little chicken and too much spinach - but was still tasty. Other than that all the other food was excellent."

"In a effort try some new places in Margate NJ area we gave Latz's By the Bay a try. I am hesitant to post this review because it was so good that I am afraid I will not be able to get future reservations once the word spreads! "You are what you eat" and my wife loved her crab cake. I had the best steak I have ever tasted and that includes Morton's, Ruth Chris, and The Prime Rib Room! The frozen mud pie dessert was also outstanding. The service was great and the owner Andrew checked in on all the tables to make sure that everyone was happy. They also feature afternoon tea and a Sunday Brunch that we are going to try the next time we are down the shore."

"My sisters and I had the afternoon tea experience and found it to be absolutely lovely. The tea selection was fantastic and everything was prepared to perfection. The combination of a bright room, sunny day and tasteful table settings created a gracious atmosphere. It was an experience definitely worth repeating. Thank you!"

"My friends and I went for the high tea. The sandwiches were tasty and the scones with clotted cream were outstanding. The pastries were average. The selection of teas was wonderful. We all ordered a different one and we shared. I would recommend the signature tea and the peach and ginger tea. The place was clean and upbeat. I will definitely go there again!"

"It is nice to have the owner checking on you and REALLY caring. His wife saw one of our meals and though it was to small so she sent it back to the kitchen and they doubled the size! This is a must try!!!!"

"Excellent food. Portion was just right. Presentation was wonderful. Great ambiance for lunch. Would go back. My wife has been to afternoon tea and enjoyed it very much. We got there at 11:45 AM just before the rush at 12:00 PM and we got great service."

"Went for lunch at restaurant week. The food was very good. I had the seafood chowder for an app, which was excellent with big chunks of seafood. The entree was an open face veggie sandwich. The sandwich was very good, but it had more french fries on the plate than veggies. The fries were average and nothing new. The dessert was a mini creme brulee which was very tasty. The place itself is a very nice and the staff is friendly. However, it was a very busy day (remember restaurant week) and they only had one server which caused slow service. We asked for a water refill and didn't get it. Granted we had a large party, but they should have been more prepared."

"We had a great dinner, next time would request table in front of the fireplace. The ambiance was great as it was snowing outside. I felt like I was in Cape May without the ride. Latz is sure our new favorite and love that it's a BYOB and so close to OC! I've told so many friends and can't wait for our next dinner."
