"I was really disappointed in the food. I had fish tacos but they were really tasteless. The fish appeared to be shredded and there was very little of it. Also the cabbage was just plain, so that had to be picked off. I ordered it with a side of orzo which they forgot to bring and our waiter didn't come back til I was almost done eating. My dining companions said their food was average. I did enjoy the ambiance ( you have it spelled wrong above)... and the bathrooms were clean. Not sure I would try it again though."

"The Sunday brunch was pretty nice; I enjoyed the omelets, fruit, and salad especially. Ice tea tastes home brewed. The desserts, however, looked like they were bought en masse from Costco. The jazz trio was very enjoyable, although at least half of the diners are seated in an area far away from where they are playing."

"The meal was ok. Nothing special. Mahi mahi was... forgettable. I love the food at the Walnut Grill in Wexford, they do a much better job (also service is better) especially with salads. I won't eat a main dish salad at this restaurant again."

"Visited for Mother's Day to have brunch. It was my first trip to WG for brunch. We were all happy with the selection. The food was good, a mix of breakfast and entree's. Everything I tried was very tasty. The prime rid (carving station) was my stand-out favorite. The seafood salad was also one of my top picks. The only thing I wasn't impressed with were the deserts. They were average but the kids liked them... The service was also very good, friendly. The line for the buffet did get a little backed up on occasion. We were there at opening so everything was very fresh. I did find a couple of the desert plates that I had to pass on because they were not cleaned properly. All in all, it was a successful Mother's Day selection!"

"I have been to Walnut Grill twice in the past couple of weeks for brunch and both times was extremely pleased! The Sunday brunch is reasonably priced at $14.95 and is well worth the money for the variety of items that you can choose from. I would also recommend it for family type events; they have a nice back room that can hold probably 40 people! Overall, a great experience!"

"When we got there, the place was less than 1/4 full but they gave us a table just off the kitchen door, where my wife's chair was bumped more than once, with no appologies. Food was very good. Our server didn't know much about the menu. She didn't know the soup of the day and didn't offer to find out. When our meals came out with a different vegetable than she told us, she said she is always surprised by what comes from the kitchen! The bar is laid out nicely, but the dining room layout needs a lot of work.
Although we wanted to like this place for their food and convenient location, the service really damaged our impression or desire to go back."

"We like to go to this restaurant when we are in town visiting our children and grandchildren. We give our daughter a "date night" with her husband and can walk to the restaurant with the children. It is a nice restaurant that is very kid friendly. You do need reservations and it can be quite busy on the weekends. It is a comfortable restaurant with decent food, moderate prices and a nice atmosphere even for a couple without children."

"Enjoyable meal, nice menu, very good service. Drinks are mediocre. Bar area way too loud, you can barely talk to the person next to you. Will go back other menu items I'd love to try."

"We sat in the front of the bar. It was a beautiful day; the windows were opened and we could feel the breeze. The music was blaring and we asked if it could be turned down, and it was. It was lunch and we had salads and sandwiches. Service was fine and food was okay; nothing spectacular, but nothing bad, either."

"Went for Easter brunch. Price was increased because of expanded brucnh offerings, perhaps? Food was good but desserts were obviously bought at a wholesaler -- very mediocre. Would be better to have far less selection and concentrate on 2 or 3 good ones.Overall, good, but not outstanding."

"4 people were in our party-we each greatly enjoyed the apps, salads, side dishes, and main courses: Stuffed Shrimp, Balsamic Chicken, Apricot Salmoan, Seabass. Though my husband said the seabass could have used a little more flavor. Our service was less than desirable...partial drink orders, didn't check on us after the meal was brought out, didn't offer dessert/coffee or more drinks, etc."

"Good food with great omelette station and in-season tasting melon and fruit. Nice selection of salads and breakfast foods. There is a decent variety of desserts as well although some appear to have been initially frozen. The jazz trio (guitar, horn, and bass cello) were wonderful to listen to, although you can only hear them in one room. Service was a little slow and it took another of requests to get a glass of water."

"The table we were given was small, up against the wall, right by the door to the kitchen and right next to another couple. We asked to be moved to a booth or larger table, but were told we had to request a booth ahead of time and the larger tables were for parties of 4 (we just had 2). We were moved to a small table in another location that wasn't right beside another couple. It was okay but was too small for us. We had to move items off the table to fit the bread plates. The food was very good and our server was very friendly. If we go back, we will request a booth."

"Great food for a bar looking place. The Ahi appetizer was fantastic. I can't wait to come back and get it again. The funnel cake dessert was awesome too! So cool to get that at a restaurant. For my meal I got the mixed grill and I was so impressed. Truly great food and great prices!! Bringing my sister there when she comes back into town in two weeks!!"

"Very unfriendly atmosphere unless you are a regular. We wanted to sit at the bar to have a glass of wine before dinner. Is it common practice that the regulars are permitted to save bar stools even though they have chosen to sit at a table somewhere else? There were 8 bar stools no one was sitting in but had coats on them. We were standing in the bar for over an hour and the entire time those seats remained empty. The one regualr customer was bragging about the fact that he was monopolizing the bar. The manager was standing there the whole time and did nothing.
I don't think we will ever go back."

"Back room was made into a sort-of Lover's Room; multiple tables of 2, set for Valentine's Day. The ambiance in this room was not as warm as the rest of the restaurant and the two-by-two seating made it all look too storybook. If you came in as a couple on this particular night, you were seated in this room. The menu was overpriced and the food was decent, but not outstanding. The service was terrific and the lunch menu (from a previous visit) was more reasonably priced with better tasting food, so I'll be back for lunch. Not sure about dinner."

"We always enjoy eating here. I had a Valentine dinner special of Salmon with Lobster Ravioli and broccoli. The ravioli had black stripes in them, which was visually striking (no flavor to the stripes), and were good tasting. The salmon was done nicely. The only negative thing I can say is they could have included a little more broccoli with dinner. My husband had the pork osso bucco off the regular menu and he enjoyed that. We split a caramelized walnut ice cream ball for dessert, which reminded us a lot of the fried ice cream Chi-Chi's used to serve (which we liked). Altogether a nice Valentine's Day dinner."

"Brunch was very good. I love the made-to-order omelettes although I wish they had chopped turkey as well as ham. Sides were very good too and the dessert had some nice options although I think they ran out before 2:00 as my friend couldn't find what I had. The jazz trio was very enjoyable and added that extra special touch."

"If you are looking for a nice, modern, stylish, romantic place to dine with a group or just a loved one that's not overly expensive, Walnut Grill is the place. Great food, a nice selection of beer and wine and a friendly waitstaff make this place one not to be missed. We were fans of WG in Shadyside and the new location in Mt. Lebanon is even better. The Mushroom Chicken is my favorite!"

"Enjoyed brunch with friends. Restaurant was accommodating when more people joined our table. We all dined from the all you can eat brunch; the omelettes were especially good. The only disappointment were the desserts, which were rather commonplace and included no chocolate. There was a lovely jazz trio that added to the ambiance although they were a little too far away to hear; I would recommend locating them in the middle of the restaurant rather than against the windows. Coffee and tea was additional, although refills were no cost, and it would have been easier for both customers and server if he had been allowed to leave us with a carafe instead of making multiple trips."
