PIER 7 restaurant + bar - 'Shipyard Square' North Vancouver
With 180° views of Vancouver, from the bustling Port to the green belt of Stanley Park, no other restaurant in North Vancouver gets you this close to the water. PIER 7 is built on the boardwalk of the historic Victory Shipyards in the revitalized waterfront of the Lonsdale Quay area. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch, brunch, and dinner, with ocean view dining on two levels and outdoor dining featuring a fireplace and comfortable seating on two patios. The menu is seafood focused, with an emphasis on boat-to-table choices, and seasonal offerings of meat and poultry. The lively bar area is a favourite stop after work for professionals coming home on the nearby Sea Bus and the burgeoning ship building industry adjacent to the pier. "Had a positive visit during Dine Out Vancouver. Reservations for 2 made on-line for Mother's Day dinner. Called restaurant same day to add one more and was told it could be accommodated in restaurant. Received a confirmation call day of dinner and message of extra diner had not been passed on. Rainy outside and told we could only be accommodated on patio or in lounge.Mother is 90, cannot sit on high stools, chose patio. Too late to make reservations elsewhere. Arrived and was seated in main restaurant with some empty tables around which were never occupied. Did not appreciate being told earlier we would be eating outside in inclement weather when told initially reservations were fine. No dessert options for diabetic. (fresh fruit)"

"Great tasting food, we had tasty spring rolls to start, amazingly cooked lamb and salmon for mains and superb crumble to finish. Good service, no complaints. Lovely waterfront spot and on a nice night a walk on the pier would top it off.
Only two comments, the ceiling is hideous, they have nice chic interior walls and windows and then I looked up to see some tacky under the water scene on the ceiling, not sure what was going on there. Also it was a bit cold in there. The air con vents blew straight onto my husband.
Otherwise super good, will definitely go again."

"I made a reservation for Mother's Day well in advance and requested a window table with a nice view of the water. Our reservation was for when the restaurant opened so no tables were yet occupied when we got there. They tried to seat us right in the front entrance in a high table that was more like a bar table than a proper restaurant table. When we objected, they were very unaccommodating and actually quite rude, prattling on about how people had reservations, etc. We HAD a reservation with a table request that was made well in advance, perhaps the guy expected me to slip him some money? Forget that. Waitress was very nice, location is nice, food was only ok. Won't bother with this place again, it's not worth it."

"Awesome location!!!...interior and bar area was very cool...deck looked temporary...it was the first night of their new menu so not sure we were saw them at their best...some of the food that arrived looked like it had been held in the warmer for a bit...slight skin on the sauce; meat that looked warmed up...however overall was a good experience...well priced and would go back again."

"If you hesitate about getting there from downtown- don't. Take the Seabus and walk 100 paces to your right. Not a chain, not a cookie-cutter personality, Pier 7 has created a special dining experience. Order what grabs you first- fish & chips for brunch? Why not? Crab salad? A mitt full of delicious real crab (not krab with a "K") perched on a bed of gentle Boston Bibb- as it should be. Different take on omelets: cheesy egg wrapped goodness with fillings-well- on top. Desserts- thought fully constructed and plated: sticky toffee pudding contrasts salty, sweet, cold and hot. Love it! Service gets ***** and once that upstairs patio is open, summer fun will abound. Catch a bite Friday night and watch the market unfold in the adjacent square."

"We noticed this beautifully constructed building on a stroll through the Lower Lonsdale area just after we moved our business here a few months back. It was crowded that Sunday and seems to be every time we drive or walk by. Now we know why.
We took our staff there for a firm lunch and were all immediately blown away by both the incredible views of Downtown Vancouver and the excellent service accorded us by both hostess and server. The food is a very upscale version of the standard fare with some fairly eclectic menu items like fresh oysters and a seared Ahi Tuna Nicoise salad. The Wagyu Beef burger was tremendous. Good selection of wines and beers. Prices were moderate. It will be a regular stop for us. A dinner rez is next on our "menu"

The 3 of us had salads with sides, 1 appy (spring rolls), 2 diet cokes and the bottle of sparking water that was sitting on the table. (no sign indicating it was $7 a bottle btw). Our waitress was upbeat but made several comments about her inability to make any decision without the kitchen's ok. Food quality was satisfactory , portion size too small considering it was mostly lettuce in the dish? and not much of it. With tip we paid $104..for lunch? No rush to come back, overall disappointing. Felt like the restaurant simply wanted to get as much money from us as possible, without creating any reason for a return visit. View is not enough. Sa"

"A couple loud tables around us, but once I saw the extensive wine list I understood why. That's why I'd recommend this as a group place and not romantic. Try a weeknight if you're going on a date.
They have a good variety of food; fancier stuff for me and old-fashioned fish n' chips for my lug of a brother. I particularly liked that they had a whole section on their menu entitled 'Not Fish', lol. There's always someone who doesn't like seafood."

"We had a group of 4 and everyone loved the food, service, ambiance and views. This was my 4th visit to Pier 7 and by far the best experience. The 'growing pains' that were evident previously seem to be gone.
The spring rolls and short ribs were amazing! Ceasar salad was one of the best I've had.

The interior lacks style - chairs look like they belong in a chain restaurant.There are few wine by the glass choices and the foof was fine but not excellent. "This was our post-Valentine's Day dinner out as we despise the hype on THE DAY. Our server was 'Collin' (I believe....his mom was visiting from out of town and at the bar enjoying her meal) and he was very engaging, friendly and knowledgable about the menu and wine list. My husband had Caesar Salad to start, and I had a Beet Salad. Both were pleasing to look at and quite delicous. My husband had the Grilled Scallops and I enjoyed the Grilled Steelhead. Our seafood was succulent and sweet tasting, as fresh seafood should taste, and when grilled to perfection. We had a bottle of white Sauvignon Blanc from NZ that complemented the meal exquisitely.
This is our 2nd time here and I wouldn't want to make it my last.We plan to become regula"

"We booked a couple weeks early for Valentines day. They had a special menu which was too bad but, the food was very good. We will definitely return to try their full menu. We ended up with a corner table, right in front of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water and Vancouver - amazing view. The service was extremely friendly. They were a little mixed up a few times, and not quite what you expect from a high end restaurant, but they were also very relaxed and fun. Quiet, romantic, gorgeous view, beautiful area, modern and nicely decorated building. Definitely recommend, if you live on the North Shore, we will be back for sure!!"

"The food was good however I did think it overpriced for what you get. The wait staff was a bit overly friendly. They would have said anything for a "sale". I attended the same restaurant for dinner on Friday night and found the same lunch I had on Wednesday was $10. more at night. The cocktails are pricey and the wine list not extensive ,limited to bottles starting at $36.
I would only go again at night for a very special occasiona as too expenseive for a drop by Friday night snack after work. By 7pm it was very noisy."

"We did not come for the special priced meals but took advantage of it with the wine parings and food selection. Although the scallops were beautifully done, the squash Rissotto was a bit heavy and the very brown/black small pieces of squash on top did not add to the overall dish. The salad and dessert were very well done and the wine paring exceptional.I did find the overall pricing on the regular menu to be high and the selction limited,but I could see you may be able to have a beer and fish and chips for a reasonable rate.
I will try the restaurant again and see what a regular priced meal will come to with wine and appetizer.I know we will not come on a regular basis when a fine meal can be found at nearby restaurants for less"

Also, I understand it was Dine out when we attended which is perhaps why the hostess kept walking past us, giving us the feeling that it was time to go, however, the restaurant was not even 1/2 full. Would not recommend nor dine there again. A most disappointing experience."

"From booking with Open Table to walking out the door after dinner, I would have to say that our experience with Pier 7 was absolutely Fabulous, I had asked for a window seat as a special request and Pier 7 went above and beyond with their best seats in the house. Our waiter Thomas was very friendly and knowledgeable, he made our night fun and enjoyable throughout the evening. The food was very tasty and the wine pairings were well thought out and a great addition to the Dine Out Menu. We will definately be returning and Pier 7 will be a topic of conversation with friends.
