Tatu is an explosive celebration of Asian culture
taking three of the most popular styles of cooking from the orient and bringing them together on a stage set with the performance energy of a rock concert.
The menu is separated into three distinct categories: Chinois Pan Asian, the artful combination of Asian ingredients with French style and technique; Hunan and Szechwan Chinese, featuring traditional Chinese comfort food favorites; and Japanese Sushi and Tempura. Tatu also features a private Zen sake lounge, tatami room and an outdoor garden moon bar.
"Arriving 10 minutes early for a reserved table generally is not a problem--except at TATU, where the "hostess" apparently learned her manners at a previous job working the desk at the Driver's License Bureau. While we dutifully stood in line with other 6:30 reservations, TATU succumbed to the chaotic flash mob, and gave several people priority, despite their having the same 6:30 pm reservation and having places in line behind us. When asked, TATU's response was "they called to say they were arriving late."
Our 4 top was eventually seated at a banquet table for 20, situated in a pit reminiscent of the monkey brain meal in Indiana Jones. Fortunately we all had smart phones, so we could communicate with one another over the runway roar."

"We had reservations through Open Table. Others who arrived after us were seated before us. We arrived prior to our 6:15 reservation time and they gave us a hassle on a table normally for 7, but our party was only 5. The wait staff was not very attentive. When the food arrived, we had to ask for serving spoons ... really? One of our selections was almost cold. We had to beckon to our waiter a number of times. We've been to Tatu on several occasions prior to this, and it had been one of our favorite restaurants for special occasions, visiting relatives, etc. Granted, it was Mother's Day and the restaurant was busy, but should that be an excuse for not providing guests with a memorable experience ... after all, it was Mother's Day!"

"The miso soup was very good and the portions were huge. Unfortunately, the food was just average. Definitely not worth the trip across town for this meal. Would not go back or recommend."

"Even with a reservation we had to wait in line for 30 minutes and beg for a table ... after that we had another 30 minute wait for our server. No water - no plates - nothing. We left! Aweful experience!"

"the food is always excellent at Tatu, our kids love it. the service was friendly, but we felt like we were being rushed through dinner. We go early due to our kids and we got the feeling that the server wanted to get a higher grossing table even though we spent over $200 for 5 people."
