The art of cooking with wood enhances the Ironwood Tavern's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. Executive Chef Tim Thompson incorporates the seasonal offerings such as beef, pork, poultry, seafood and fresh produce from small local farms and purveyors for our cuisine. Craft beer is our focus and our passion. All of our 24 craft beers on draft reflect a personal vision. Our craft beer list is different, intriguing, and constantly evolving, like the world of craft beer itself. A menu that features styles from all over the world, but is predominantly American and local in focus. Our craft beer experts works with chef Tim to develop the menus, and that the pair sometimes start with the beer and work backwards to the food from there.
"The place doesn't look like much from the outside or even on the inside, but the food was pretty great! We had the Crabcake Benedict. The food was really delicious. The prime rib looked awesome. May try that the next time we visit."

"The restaurant service was great. The ambience was lacking and food was fine. It wasn't anything I would go out of my way to get to, but if I'm in the neighborhood and looking for a decent meal at a good price I'd eat there again.
I had the steak and eggs for brunch. The prime rib was supposed to be medium, but it was almost well done and dry. The eggs and fruit were great."

"My husband and I went to the Easter Sunday brunch. The hostess led us to our table, but did not inform us that a server would take our drink order and did not direct us to go to the buffet table. Overall, the food selection was good. The scrambled eggs were a bit well done. Instead of having thick slices of ham on a serving dish, I think that a carving station for Virginia ham would have been better."

"Staff was very good. Food is decent to good. The greatest thing about it is that it's not empty but you can usually get a table quickly (which is not the case for many of the places near by)."

"They have the second best beer selection in Leesburg and great food. It always seems busy for happy hour. We like it because there is a good selection and price range of food. It's busy- but the wait is never as long as other places because it is a bigger restaurant. If you have a group of friends for dinner or the bar, they can accomodate larger groups."

"I really want to like this place more. There are very good qualities but it misses on the atmosphere and the service. Its very unnaturally bright and too open. It feels cold and not comfortable."

"My husband and I tried this restaunt for date night. The food was really good as was the beer. We started with the southwes spring roll appetizer which was small but tasted awesome. I had a burger and it was delicious. My husband had the crab cake sandwhich and although it was not huge, it was all crab meat. The restaurant is not very romantic but a nice place you can go with a date, your family or a group of people. It has the sports bar feel with a big bar and big screen tv's but was not overly loud. The lighting is brighter than I generally like it when I dine out. Our waiter was fantastic although we did not really see the manager around. Our waiter was helpful when it came to beer selection as he brought several samples."
