Animated by a luxurious array of ambient sounds, scents and lighting, Hakkasan New York is a stunning evolution of the London original, both acclaimed for their Michelin-starred modern Chinese cuisine. The 11,000 square foot restaurant features a signature "cage" carved out of dark English oak and Carrera marble and an elegant 50-foot bar that features an innovative selection of skillfully crafted cocktails made with fresh pressed juices, purees, foams and other fresh ingredients. At the heart of the restaurant is the kitchen with highly skilled wok chefs at center stage. Choreographed by Master Chef Ho Chee Boon, the menu includes Hakkasan classics such as Roasted Silver Cod with Champagne and Chinese Honey, Stir Fry Black Pepper Ribeye Beef with Merlot and an assortment of refined Dim Sum offerings.

"This was my second visit to Hakassan and I was not disappointed. The food was awesome, and there are specifically designated menu items for vegetarians. The service has been over the top and special kudos to manager Alexander Jen who made my latest visit a perfect one."

"The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant was nice and impressive, and the service was very good. The food overall was ok, but nothing special. It was way overpriced, and by the end of our lunch, we were still hungry after spending $150+ on 6 dimsum dishes and 1 entree. Dimsum pieces only came in 3s. ADVICE: DO NOT order the $32 Chicken And Abalone Shumai - you're basically paying $10+ per shumai with a tiny piece of abalone on top! This place is more geared toward tourists and rich people who have lots of money to throw around. If I were you, I would just go to Chinatown for dimsum and be satisfied."

"I come here at least once a month! I love the fun drinks and must have the peking duck amongst other dim sum plates! When this restaurant opens a year ago, it was not so packed and I could walk in and expect a table! Not anymore! Must make reservation ahead of time! Very festive and feels very cool!"

"We have dined here and at other Hakkasan restaurants many times, and we were previously pleased with the food and service. This visit the food was again quite good (particularly the dim sum), but the service was chaotic. Drinks and water were removed without asking for new orders, and one needed to fight for attention throughout the evening. Staffing seemed to be sparse for the crowds, and there is no effective cross-coverage. After a 25 minute wait for dessert menus and attempts to place an order, we simply gave up and got dessert elsewhere. It is disappointing to see a restaurant with such delicious food marred by such inattentive service, particularly given the high high prices. We will not return."

"Went here after my graduation at Radio City music hall. Due to the prices, this place would only be picked on special occasion and it was so worth it! The dumplings were superb, the cay pot dishes were creamy and tasty and the dessert, especially black sesame was out of this world. Would definitely recommend! Oh and of course, the drinks selection were great. I had one of their speciality drinks which tasted great, but was a little weak. I would still recommend trying the creative cocktails tho!"

"Loved the decor. I thought the food was between good and great but way overpriced for what you get. i highly recommend the cod entree. thought the servers were stuffy - i asked for a private table to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday and they didn't accommodate us. that was upsetting, especially considering the amount of empty tables and overpriced food."

"I enjoyed my brunch experience at Hakkasan,. Everything from restaurant décor to food to service truly lives up to its Michelin star. There is not one bad item in the menu that we ordered. I will highly recommend it to anyone I know who is visiting NYC. Perfect for special occasions. I booked the brunch as part of my birthday gift to my niece, which also included watching the musical Wicked. I am sure she had a birthday gift she will never forget."

"I've been twice to Hakkasan now and I have nothing else to say but: "almost perfect"... The chef is the Robuchon of Chinese food! Creative, different, quality ingredients and so good! A pleasure for the eyes and the palate! The decor and ambiance are top notch. A couple of nights ago we had the steamed dim sum platter... sooo tasty... their jamine tea leaf smoked ribs... unbelievably good. For entrees, we had the spicy prawn entree... five star... and their Wok-Fry Duck Breast with tangerine peel, which is the only reason why this review is a 4 stars not five. It was good, but not mind blowing! Overall this place is great in all aspects, I will go back when I want a special time."

"Waitress should be better trained to give recommendations. When I asked her how was the duck dish with the tangerine peel cooked, the response was " I don't know and I don't eat duck". I continued to ask her if the duck dish have a sweet flavor or is it salty. Her response was "all Chinese food are salty"'. Inappropriate responses took points off my rating for Hakkasan."

"I was immediately impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant; love the decor. I was afraid the tasting/pre-fixe menu would be small and I don't like macaroons. So I ordered the hot & sour soup with chicken and my entree was the green tea smoked chicken along with an order of bok choy (obviously for 2 to share). I ate everything and it was delicious!! Obviously no room for dessert. I did order jasmine tea (the pot was for 2 people). It all added up to an expensive lunch (& I didn't order a drink), but I decided I was treating myself. Chatting later with a few women in the lovely ladies room, they said their pre-fixe lunch was delicious and plenty to eat and the drinks were fabulous.

We arrived at the restaurant and then were seated at a table and ordered our drinks.... our drinks didn't arrive for about 15 mins. Our waitress gave us menus and was not knowledge able about the food at all. I asked her what was in the crispy seafood puff and her reply was seafood... if you like seafood you'll like it. SERIOUSLY!

"Expensive, but exceptional Chinese food. Not for "the egg roll crowd" or "Bridge & Tunnel" tourists who are better served by going to Shun Lee West. This is an over-the-top circus of interesting food for people who appreciate really creative, exceptionally prepared food. The bar makes some of the most outstanding cocktails anywhere. Try the Smoky Negroni or the Hakka. By 9pm - 10pm the place is rocking. The service is sexy, attentive, and well informed. Dinner for two is easily $200 to $350 depending on your selections. It could be a lot more too. Worth it? Yes. All the time? No. But who cares."

"I've been three times over the past month and it's among the best food (chinese or otherwise). The Bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and they can mix a serious cocktail. The Smoked Negroni is worth a trip to the bar for the show. The wait staff is helpful and gracious. Wonderful."

"Although the food here was superb, we had to wait over an hour past our reservation time despite being told "5 minutes more"! We also had to request our wine glasses to be refilled and eventually asked for the bottle to be put on our table. As I say, the food is wonderful, let down by poor service."

"The decor was exciting. The service was excellent and attentive. I have food allergies and even when my very exotuc cocktail was mistakenly made by the bar tender the waitress caught it in time. Best of all, the Peking duck, which was what we came for, was simply superb and just the best we have ever eaten anywhere."

"I've been to the Hakkasan restaurants in London, UK and it was one of my all time favourite dining experiences. The service, food, drinks, and ambience were all outstanding, however I cannot say the same about the Hakkasan in NYC. The food was great (meets the Hakkasan standard), ambience was good but the service was just fair. I understand the weekends are always busy and can be quite overwhelming, but the lack of attention and the poor attitude were unacceptable. Thank goodness the outstanding food, which made up for the poor attitude and services of our waiter and the concierge
