"I have been about a half dozen times now. The selection of fish is unsurpassed by no one. For example there are several grades of toro available. Everything is always fresh and the specialty rolls are unique."

"Great sushi and sashimi - generous servings! Friendly, fast service - very professional and courteous (Especially Tiffany and Jarrod). Huge sake menu. Appies are delicious too - the pork belly bun is a must."

"This was my second visit and both were excellent. The sushi was what one expects when you eat out...atypical, well designed, and delicious. It's a bit noisy, but you'll get around that."

"Loved the appetizer options- yellowtail ceviche, ahi tuna, and poke salad especially. Table shared diverse sushi. Tried the sake sampler ( about 4 different types)- could have done without that. the bill was more than we expected, but it was our own doing (obviously). Would visit again, but be more observant of the cost."

"Usually I love Chiba...but they were packed and the waiter informed us that if we "planned to order rolls, it'll probably take a while so if we wanted to consider something else."Well it's a sushi restaurant, so most diners will be ordering rolls. The waiter was overwhelmed but seemed to blame us for his troubles. Food is usually very tasty but the food seemed thrown together this time. I won't stop going, but it was disappointing."

"I was drawn to this restaurant because I read an article stating the owner previously worked at Haru in NYC. Haru was one of my favorite sushi restaurants when I lived in NYC. There's no doubt that Chiba is in a prime location on Oak Street. The restaurant and bar are very hip looking by New Orleans standards. That being said, upon being seated, we weren't greeted or asked for drink orders for about 15 minutes. The restaurant was virtually empty, with approximately two tables in the dining area and a sparse number of people at the bar. We observed one server, one bartender and two hostesses working at approximately 7:30 on a Saturday night, which was curious. Two hostesses?"

"Best sushi in the city! Been to several others, that we love as well, but Chiba is a cut above. Their happy hour makes it affordable but even without happy hour still very reasonable. We do bring our kids (5,4,2) there and feel comfortable doing so. I would be less likely to bring my kids after 6:30."

"Had a great experience at Chiba! The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. They had a special prix fixe menu for V-Day. We enjoyed the menu options very much! Fun and energetic atmosphere and will definitely be going back!"

"I don't know about this place. The place was nice. The food looked beautiful. Both of the rolls I had (Strawberry Roll and Mardi Gras Roll) featured jalapeño peppers which I felt overpowered all of the other flavors. My wife had sashimi which was tasty. The fish was all fresh, which is always a plus for sushi restaurants. It was expensive. I spent $100 (imcluding tip) on the two aforementioned rolls, sashimi, edemame a couple of soft drinks and one mojito."
